Pyramids Of Mars Figures: Mars Set – Pictures

Action Figures: Pyramids Of Mars: Mars Set

This item is available to order on-line from Forbidden Planet or Forbidden Planet International

Released October £19.99

“Your evil is my good. I am Sutekh the Destroyer. Where I tread, I leave nothing but dust and darkness I find that good!”

In this fourth Doctor adventure, the TARDIS materialises on Earth in the year 1911 inside an old priory owned by Egyptologist Marcus Scarman.

Scarman has been possessed by Sutekh, last survivor of the god-like Osirans, who is held prisoner under a pyramid in Egypt by a signal transmitted from one on Mars. Sutekh desires his freedom and instructs Scarman to construct servicer robots – which look like Egyptian mummies – to build a missile with which to destroy the Martian pyramid. The Doctor foils this plan by blowing up the missile.

He then falls under Sutekh’s control himself and is made to transport Scarman to Mars in the TARDIS. Scarman cuts off the signal but the Doctor, now freed of Sutekh’s influence, realises that there will be a short delay before it stops, rushes back and uses the time control from the TARDIS to move the end of Sutekh’s space-time tunnel into the far future. Sutekh, travelling down the tunnel, is unable to reach the end in his lifetime, and dies.

Contents:
1 x Sutekh with jackal head action figure.
2 x Mars Guardian Robot Mummy action figures.

    • booboo

      September 11th, 2012 - 6:08pm

yes, they wouldn’t go to all the trouble to make a Sutekh and not have the other head somewhere down the line

      September 11th, 2012 - 6:06pm

Hopfully Proper Head Sutek with Chair & Sarah Jane Smith (with a hand accesory that you can put by the chair)

I don’t want another plain mummy. It’s been released twice already.

      September 11th, 2012 - 6:10pm

may be with a different Jar

I suspect we might get Sutekh with mask , Sarcophagus and 4th Doctor at some stage which i dont mind either

strange they dont have it up, has happened before though – wondering if this is a FP set, underground toys have gone very very quite – they are normally tweeting like mad by now

    • Judooning

      September 11th, 2012 - 7:03pm

FP have tended to expand the name of their sets. I mean they made the Enemies of the Doctor sets and they are calling this a ‘Mars set’ so it’s not just the name of the episode title. They tend to be more experimantal with their sets.

Looks like a superb set for Classic Who fans. 🙂 I have 2 questions though:

    • Is Pyramids of Mars a good episode?
    • Which of the following classic sets should I get:

    Remembrance of the Daleks
    Pyramids of Mars
    Genesis of the Daleks

Pyramids of Mars is a great story, so it’s worth you buying the DVD.

If you don’t yet have a 4th Doctor set then I’d recommend getting the Genesis of the Daleks set.

The Remembrance of the Daleks set I would recommend as it includes the awesome Special Weapons Gunner Dalek from Remembrance of the Daleks and Asylum of the Daleks.

I’d much rather buy the Pramids of Mars figure set only if Sutekh came with his mask.

      September 11th, 2012 - 6:02pm

I ment to say ‘if you don’t have a 4th Doctor figure’ not ‘4th Doctor set’.

    • The Supreme Dalek

      September 11th, 2012 - 6:46pm

No, I don’t have a 4th Doctor figure. Thanks for your feedback.

I have to say, they are ALL great sets! 🙂 If I was to chose, I’d either go for one of the Dalek sets. That is because I do not own any Classic Daleks. Here’s what I think of each set:

      GENESIS:
This set is good if you don’t own a Fourth Doctor, Classic Dalek and Davros (like me). It’s just awesome! 😀

      REMEMBRANCE:
One word: Fantastic! The Special Weapons is such a great figure! 😀

And this set, is great. Love the mummies too! 🙂

      I pick Remembrance!!!! 😀

DAMN !! Why didn’t they just do this set when they first released the Robot Mummy figures ?.

Would be nice if Sutekh comes with his mask to go over his head, it is a very recognizable part of his overall appearance.
