Peri & Sil Vengeance On Varos – Pictures

Action Figures: Peri & Sil Vengeance On Varos

The Sixth Doctor and Peri visit the planet Varos to obtain supplies of a rare ore called Zeiton 7, vital to the functioning of the TARDIS. Varos was once a colony for the criminally insane and the descendants of the original guards still rule, while the poverty-stricken people are kept entertained by screenings of public torture from the Punishment Dome.

Their Governor has been trying to negotiate a better export price for zeiton ore from Sil, an envoy of the Galatron Mining Corporation, whose reptilian body is supported and kept cool by a mobile water tank.

The Doctor and Peri meet two rebels, Jondar and Areta. Peri and Areta are captured and almost reshaped into beast-like creatures by Quillam, the Dome’s sadistic commandant, but the Doctor saves them and tells the Governor the true value of zeiton 7.

Quillam and Varos’s Chief Officer, who are in the pay of the Corporation, try to kill the Doctor and the Governor but are themselves despatched. Sil plans an invasion of Varos by a force from his home world, Thoros-Beta, but the Corporation veto this and instruct him to buy the zeiton ore at any price.

but i don’t understand why they picked Perry,

This is probably a “test the water” combination to see in what quantities it sells to help them best judge what, hand how many to produce in the future

Nice set, I will get them to keep my collection complete BUT Sil is more like an accessory not a figure and being in the USA $40.00 is a lot of money for this set. I have seen it for pre-order for $44.99 CRAZY thats almost the price of a TARDIS + Dr set or 1/2 11 Dr’s set! New sculpts yes but high price…

this makes no sense whatsever: the first classic companion is Peri?!? Am I missing something? Leela… Romana… Susan… Jamie… the Brigadier… so many better characters to choose from and they pick Peri?

I never, ever, understand how these figures are selected.

This is just weird and random.

The one on the left is, I think, the final sculpt. I read on a forum from a fan who spoke to her at at a convention that she turned down the first sculpt saying it looked nothing like her, and I would say that description fits the one on the right more than the left. Plus it has more detail, and they’ve fleshed out her rack more on the left one!

If we go by the rumours then Jo Grant/Gell Guard and the Brig/Omega are next up as far as companions go, probably after the obvious repaint for Peri/Cyber Controller.

These look lovely! I have a question though…

“Peri from slightly different angles, stunning likeness we think…”

Slightly different anlges….that make the keyring on her belt appear and the and the ring on her finger disappear…..??? LOL 😉

Hope they are reasonably priced though. The recent trend for selling 2 figures for ~£30 is too expensive for me 😥
