I wonder why DWM has dropped the story arcs? I’ve really enjoyed seeing continuing adventures in the comics, it gives them a nice balance between having their own identity and feeling like a proper part of the show (story arcs being a big thing on TV). It was also nice to have one ongoing writer to lend the series an overall tone. The comic strip in DWM is still great, and I will still get this, I’m just not quite used to the different style yet.

It’s been like this before, the early Tennat strips didn’t have an arc, neither did the Ninth Doctor’s.

I know that the story arc is a recent addition, but I think it was an absolutely fantastic addition they made. Many of my favourite comic strips have come about as part of the story arcs.

Well they are only on the third story for twelve, I’m sure one will appear sooner or later.

Probably because of the nature of the show, it’s not often DWM can plan a full arc 12-18 months in advance. Clara, for example, will no doubt have left by then and a new companion will be introduced to the show and the comic has to reflect that.

The entire Crimson Hand arc is fantastic, I think, but only occurred because there was an 18 month gap for Doctor Who
