An unofficial guide to 50 years of time travel
Since Doctor Who began its incredible run on British television in 1963, the Daily Mirror has always been there to cover the adventures of the Time Lord.
You can see more images Here
From the show’s earliest days, The Doctors: The Archive features stunning unseen images from the Mirror’s archive. For the first time, fans can see the show’s original star William Hartnell having his wig put in place, and see behind the scenes on many of the show’s episodes which have now been lost in time.
The extensive photographic coverage features rare and never-before-seen pictures from not just the show’s early years, but throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, plus exclusive pictures taken during the recording of the revived television series which has become a sensation in the 21st century.
Featuring archive and brand new interviews, this special publication to mark the Time Lord’s birthday is an essential read for all fans of the show.
This 84-page glossy magazine, published under our Mirror Collection series, salutes and commemorates 50 years of Doctor Who on the BBC and will be hugely collectable.

But this book does seem very interesting, and probably a great read.

Now come on Radio Times special, where are you???
booboo
November 5th, 2013 - 12:45pmwas wondering about that, Radio times have done some terrific books in the past
Johnny
November 5th, 2013 - 1:06pmI thought it was confirmed that there would be no Radio Times special this year as there were enough other magazines doing special issues.
Dark Lord
November 5th, 2013 - 8:36pmIf that’s true, then it’s a damn shame! I’m very surprised that RT would miss such a classic opportunity to showcase it’s most iconic programme!!
Johnny
November 6th, 2013 - 8:51amThe didn’t do one for the 30th or 40th anniversaries either.
You have to remember too that RT is not produced by the BBC anymore but is owned by an independent publisher, and maybe the new owners aren’t interested in special editions like there have been in the past
BlackGuardian
November 6th, 2013 - 7:26pmThere was a pull-out in the regular edition of RT for the 40th anniversary, but I would be very surprised (and hugely disappointed)if they weren’t planning a special for the 50th. Maybe they’re keeping it under wraps until the 23rd.
100000BC
November 6th, 2013 - 7:32pmOnly didn’t do 30 and 40 because DW wasn’t on TV.

November 6th, 2013 - 9:38pm“shame cant the radio times reprint the 20 year special like they did with the 10th one back in 2003
Johnny
November 7th, 2013 - 3:20pm@ 100000BC – Just because “Doctor Who” wasn’t on the television didn’t mean there wasn’t a fanbase willing to buy an anniversary magazine. DWM sold constantly when the series owas off the air.
@ BlackGuardian – Prepare to be “surprised (and hugely disappointed)”.
