Doctor Who Collect and Build Yeti Season 7 Set Liz Shaw and Primord

This product will be available exclusively to Set 2 purchasers at 10am BST on Monday 14th September.

General sale will commence at 10am BST on Tuesday 15th September at www.character-online.com

Character Options details its eagerly awaited Doctor Who Collect & Build Set 3.

2026 has seen the reimagiation of Character Options’ Collect & Build series for its iconic Doctor Who Figures. After the rapid sell out of the debut and subsequent 2nd installment, the team is pleased to confirm details of the 3rd in the series and information on how to purchase.

The 5-piece ‘Vortex Edition’ Third Doctor Season Seven Set (1970) with Liz Shaw and Primord will be available in the next few days, exclusively online via www.character-online.com.

This limited-edition Doctor Who Collect & Build “Vortex” set is the third of five launches this year. Each pack includes one or more ‘Vortex’ figures, plus a crucial part of the Collect & Build ‘Yeti’ figure, the right arm. This latest piece forms an essential part of the extraordinary Abominable Snowman figure that can be completed when all five sets have been collected.

About the Figures in the Set

This set includes both a Liz Shaw and Professor Stahlman as ‘Primord’ figure. Dr Elizabeth “Liz” Shaw was with the Third Doctor for a relatively short period of time and first met him when he was exiled to Earth in the 20th century. Together they worked for UNIT, under the Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, and faced many threats, both personal and to the safety of mankind.

Although initially somewhat sceptical of UNIT’s purpose, Liz soon embraced the team and became embroiled in several of the Doctor’s adventures. She came across many foes, including the Nestene-Consciousness with its Auton forces, Silurians, benevolent aliens from deep space and, found out there was even an alternate version of herself on a parallel Earth! She eventually left UNIT to return to academia but was later reunited several times with the Doctor for yet more adventures.

The Liz Shaw figure in this set, is as she was seen in “The Silurians” wearing a bright red dress with copper accent belt, black knee length boots and hair tied back with a brown ribbon. Her figure comes with the ‘Primord’ figure version of Professor Stahlman. The head of Project Inferno, Stahlman was the lead scientist who became infected with a primordial ooze which slowly mutated him into a slavering aggressive ‘Primord’. This figure represents Professor Stahlman fully transformed but still in his white lab coat, tweed suit and waistcoat.

In addition to the Collect & Build piece, two further accessories are included in the set – a Large transparent Auton Energy Sphere from ‘Spearhead from Space 1970’ and the Doctors blue Metebelis Crystal, first seen in ‘The Green Death 1973’.

Al Dewar, Creative Director, Character Options, said: “Firstly I have to say there is always one figure each year that I think is an absolute belter and very quickly zooms to the top of my most liked pile. This year that figure is (by a long way)the Liz Shaw figure. There’s always one that’s just works and one that’s an absolute beast of a struggle … this is 100% the former. I think it turned out better than we could have ever hoped, and really for me, Andrew Teal’s sculpt truly captures the beauty of Caroline John and the essence of Liz Shaw.

“As many collectors are aware, after its future release was leaked online, we cancelled this figure. That original model was arguably a more basic iteration, and I always felt it didn’t quite capture or do justice to Caroline’s John’s beauty as well as it could. Fast forward to when it was time to return to look at Liz Shaw as part of the Collect & Build range, and I’m delighted we went with an all new Liz Shaw sculpt.

“Accompanying Liz on her adventures, although from a different story entirely, is the misguided Professor Stahlman from my favourite Season 7 story INFERNO. Stahlman is a True Third Doctor foe, a brilliant scientist whose egomania gets in the way of common sense and in this case ends up as a slavering growling ‘Primord’. So, to have the Primord sculpted by Ed Barnet-Ward as a figure to accompany the new Liz Shaw figure is hugely satisfying.

“Shall we talk Yeti’s? … So up until now your Collect & Build Yeti has been mostly … ‘armless’ (Dad joke) but hopefully with the head and torso now already in place, you should be able to see the scale of this figure which you have been gradually building! Once this first arm is attached, the articulation of the hands and arms will begin to give you a better sense of the pose-ability and fun you’ll be able to have once fully built. My only advice is …‘Don’t madden it!’’

This Collect & Build set will be available to purchasers of Set two on – we need to finalise these details and exact wording please . It will be exclusively available from www.character-online.co.uk and costs just £44.99 .

For more information on upcoming Collect & Build sets, visit www.character-online.co.uk. To ensure fans have the opportunity to complete their collections, customers purchasing previous sets will receive pre-launch alert emails and a link to early access sale. Early access will be limited to accounts with a purchase history, and customers will be able to purchase up to three sets each.

About the Abominable Snowman figure – This pack comes with the third key part of the ‘Collect & Build’ ‘Abominable Snowman’ (1967) figure: the Yeti’s right arm. This can be assembled with the head from the first set and torso from the 2nd – with just two pieces of the Yeti to come, the assembly is almost complete!

They didn’t last long. CO also don’t update the pictures on the Collect and Build page though, so that still showed ‘sold out’ but sets were available if you clicked through anyway, as with the 15th Dr set which they still have in stock now.

It’s also worth mentioning that there are some bargains on Ebay if you don’t need the Yeti pieces. There’s been little love for Professor S.

      September 30th, 2026 - 4:19pm

No we do not have a date (and no it will not be the 5th and please don’t follow this up by saying “must be the 12th then”). There will be a big announcement when the information comes, you won’t be able to miss it.

People here have a tendency to throw out random dates and then get upset when nothing happens.

    • War Chief.

      September 30th, 2026 - 4:34pm

      I wouldn’t have got upset…
It was just a random date….though based logically on the first 2 releases being on the first Monday of the month….

    • War Chief.

      October 2nd, 2026 - 8:54am

If the November Ark in Space set is delayed, then I well get somewhat ‘upset’….
But with the 4th Doctor figure….meh….it can arrive any time this month, for all I care…

    • ThePrimordInfectant

      October 6th, 2026 - 1:08pm

How do you know Scotel, you’re not an authority. It could be any Tuesday in October. Also nobody has said anything about any delays.

    • Scotel

      October 6th, 2026 - 1:51pm

Because at the time that was posted it was less than a week away and nothing had been announced yet which ruled it out. It will release at some point in October, guessing dates just leads to disappointment. I do not claim to be an authority and never have done.

Yes, there was a delay. The Fourth Doctor set was supposed to release in September but had to be pushed back to October due to problems (which Al Dewar has explained in some of the interviews he has done). If there was going to be any set I wouldn’t be expecting to follow any sort of pattern it would be that one.

Pertwee variations should be doable quite easily. I think two or three new components would allow them to do every version quite accurately – a wrap jacket with rounded lapels, a slightly revised cape, and the longer early cravat/tie thing.

    • War Chief.

      September 20th, 2026 - 11:02pm

There was once a (very) early Tom Baker in the black velvet jacket….
They just need to stick a Jon Pertwee head on it instead…

Man, a Planet of the Spiders box set would be A-MA-ZING!! That story absolutely terrified me as a child – especially with the spider that was on Sarah Jane Smith’s back! Here’s hoping…!

If you can get hold of the spiders that came with the Primeval figures, they look fantastic with a Pertwee figure. I have three of them in my collection. I also have some of the Pterodactyls that came with the Primeval figures to go with my Invasion of the Dinosaurs Pertwee figure.

Has CO changed the type of plastic they use? The plastic on this set is SO soft, it really makes the figures difficult to stand up properly because their legs never stay in position, they’re constantly moving. Plus my Primord’s got a bent leg from being in the plastic shell and Liz Shaw’s legs keep closing if she’s not fully grounded. I don’t know if it’s the mould, the plastic or what but the older figures seemed so sturdy. I put Pertwee’s or the Brigadier’s legs in a position and they stay that way regardless of being grounded or not. Mind you, my Pertwee’s got a bent leg too but it’s not too noticeable and at least it stays in place at the joint.

Last night my dog Albert had to be put to sleep because he had a bad leg injury (from his racing days before I got him) and he was in too much pain , the reason I am posting this on here is because on Friday I took a picture of him with the season 7 set and that now makes the season 7 set extra special for me .

So sorry to hear that, William. I understand why your picture of Albert makes your Season 7 set special. Many years ago, I lost my cat, Puss. In her prime she gnawed and left her teeth marks on a corner of my 1973 Dr Who Annual. Those teeth marks are now a very, very treasured memory of Puss. Am sure your Season 7 set and picture will one day give you the same happy reminder of Albert.

To Scotel’s point, because these sets are clearly selling out – and VERY quickly – to quite a deep-diving level of fans, you can probably frame ‘popular’ in this context pretty broadly – I think thinks like a ‘Build-a-Figure Zarbi’, or ‘Build-a-Figure Kroton’, for example, would not have interested the general public buying from Toys R Us in the Tennant-tastic hey-day of the late noughties, but this is probably a more committed and more into-the-lore-including-obscure audience we’re talking and those sorts of choices would definitely be snapped up.

The BAF/CAB needs to be something very popular. The things I can only think of are:

Web Yeti – but don’t it so soon after this yeti

      Azal

Emperor Dalek – although I’d like this as one big mold

I can’t see it being the Tardis interior or Bessie as too big.

      War Machine – Limited popularity

      What do you think?

    • War Chief

      September 19th, 2026 - 12:18pm

War Machine would be nice….and the Emperor Dalek…!

    • Scotel

      September 19th, 2026 - 1:57pm

Al Dewar has mentioned the first proposal he sent to the BBC for this years Collect and Build was the Kandyman (which of course got rejected for reasons we can all guess).

I wouldn’t get too caught up on what’s “popular”, the main factors will be how practical it is to break up and display the smaller parts in packaging and having a distinctive visual to sell it on.

    • Red Five, Where Going In.

      September 19th, 2026 - 3:12pm

Robert, I think Azal, War Machine or even a Kroton would all be Great as a Build a Figure.

    • Red Five, Where Going In.

      September 19th, 2026 - 3:28pm

A “Build a Figure” Winged Menoptera or a Zarbi would be rather nice Aswell?

    • RobW

      September 19th, 2026 - 11:44pm

I bet the BBC were having a right meltdown over the Kandyman idea.

Someone on gallybase popped off a clip on the arm and like the chest piece, it looks like the yeti is reusable for a mark two. It would be interesting to know if this would be a future CAB/BAF or standalone release.

I think Azal would be pretty cool, you don’t have to have him giant size as he starts off small and grows. They rereleased the Daemons figure set at the same time as it’s hard to find.

    • The Unlicensed Physician

      September 20th, 2026 - 10:38pm

Kandyman should be fine now under the laws protecting parody – look at the previously problematic Judge Dredd storyline. No one wants to pay for the lawyers to OK it I guess.

    • Scotel

      September 20th, 2026 - 11:36pm

The problem there is the BBC never tried to argue it was parody but rather an unintended similarity and accepted fault. It would be rather difficult for any lawyer to try and argue any different now 40 years later just because the law’s changed in the mean time.
