Doctor Who 5.5″ 8th Doctor Action Figure

The Eighth Doctor was an effortlessly charming, romantic figure. He was unguarded about his background and equally candid about what the future held for people he came into contact with.

It seems ironic that so much about this open Doctor remains a closed book…His first adventure took place in San Francisco at the turn of the Millennium with Dr Grace Holloway and Chang Lee in an epic battle with the Master.
Much later, after many adventures with many companions, the 8th Doctors fate is finally sealed during the Time War, as he attempts to rescue a pilot, Cass, whose ship was crashing into the planet Karn.
When Cass realized that the Doctor was a Time Lord and her enemy, she refused his help and allowed the ship crash.

December 18th, 2015 - 9:14amI just ordered two* from calendars.com. With the 20% discount for orders over $20 and the pretty good $/£ exchange rate it came to just over £36 including delivery. Not much more expensive than buying from TRU and certainly better than lining the pockets of ebay scalpers.
The combined value falls under the UK threshold of customs duty but I may still be liable for import VAT depending whether or not my package gets selected at random at Customs. Import VAT is 20% plus an £8 handling fee, so fingers crossed.
*One to keep mint in box and the other for display, as if you need to ask.

December 22nd, 2015 - 1:40amI also purchased one from calendars.com – and I live in the U.S., but I ordered on December 19, and it’s already very close, and it seems (and the tracking said) that it will arrive by Christmas Eve at latest – so even if you are overseas – I would assume that it would come very quickly.

December 20th, 2015 - 11:34pmThere won’t be any customs duty, just import VAT @ 20% of the total cost including delivery, plus a handling fee. They only check duty on a random selection of parcels too so you might get lucky and not have to pay any import charges at all.

Spoke to manager on phone and he said none in stock but said he was heading to Woking a few days later and he could bring two back for me (they showed as having seven in stock). Anyway, he calls me back a few minutes later and says in fact I’ve got two at Poole and keeps them back in his office for me to collect… WINNER! So ring round – you never know your luck!

I actually managed to order one of this figure from them last Sunday morning, they confirmed the order and it showed up on my Paypal account for the correct amount. A package arrived from them yesterday containing the other items I ordered, but missing the McGann figure.
I messaged them through facebook, (since they’ve completely ignored my email from the previous week), and they assured me that the figure would be on its way soon.
Now they’ve sent me an email telling me they’ve cancelled my order!
All this after they’d sent me stock alerts on six occasions for one of the stores near me and that store never had any.

I would do anything to avoid TRU in the future!
I got my 8th Doctor from fpi without any problems!

And at much higher prices – surprise, surprise. I finally managed to find one in TRU which had loads Clara and 3 of 12th Doctor (purple shirt seems sparse) – someone has done some very wrong calculations somewhere.
