San Diego Comic Con SDCC 2017
Its that time of year again with SDCC 2017 about to start
Wednesday sees previews night between 6-9 pm, that’s 2-5am in the morning for people in the UK.
From what we can see so far nothing new apart from the already announced Titans, Clara Funko and a few mugs and T shirts will be on show that night.
It starts in full on Thursday at 9.30am which is 5.30pm in the UK so no late night waiting for any information.
If anything is on show it should soon become clear.
Seven20life (the new name for Underground Toys USA) have said they will have Doctor Who products on show but we do not know if there will be anything new, they will have some exclusives, some will be Doctor Who related it seems.
It will be interesting to see what they have done with “The Wheel in Space”, Animated of telesnaps?
We also know there will be a Christmas Special preview but it remains to be seen if anyone else will get to see it!

July 20th, 2017 - 6:00pmThey said on twitter that they’ve got no figures there and the only thing seen at their stand related to Doctor Who is a mug. I don’t know if they’ve got more stuff to show that isn’t for sale though but it seems as though Doctor Who won’t have much of a presence.

July 20th, 2017 - 6:16pmIn fairness they are doing the best they can with a trade that is no longer successful. Hey don’t just avoid making certain figures because they’re useless, I’m sure they’d love to make all the figures that the fans want but at the end of the day they need to make a profit and making figures that they know won’t sell very well will not help. Their biggest flaw is really just the lack of communication and timings of releases but it’s not a surprise that they don’t communicate with all the backlash they get when they do.

Underground toys have for the last few years Co-funded the 5″ figures that’s why they mostly first appeared at SDCC.
This year the company split up with funko owning the UK decision and UT USA changing their name to seven20life
At that point its seems they cancelled figures / sets that Character had already put into production and presumably severed ties.
If that it still the case any future figures will be sold by Character to the UK market. presumably until/if a USA distributor is found they wont find their way to the USA.

assuming recovering lost episodes has all but dried up up least we may get every story on our DVD shelves now

Yes I know the team working on it are probably American, but it should be a team in our country reconstructing it.

July 19th, 2017 - 10:04pmthey have “restored” it for the USA market on Britflix and they intend to do all of the lost episodes eventually.
We do not know what “restored” means, either by telesnaps or animation but they are showing one episode at SDCC so we will find out.
We also dont know where the UK fits in, if it does at all.
it may mean we do get every story officially on DVD eventually but if its just telsnaps there are already unofficial ones around
