Character Building Tardis Dematerialising Mini Set

TARDIS stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space and looks just like a wooden Police phone box from the 1950’s on the outside, but is of infinite proportions on the inside. This incredible time machine is piloted by the Doctor, a mysterious Time Lord and its able to transport him anywhere through time and space, disappearing in one place and reappearing somewhere new.

Amy Pond waited fourteen years for her chance to travel with the Doctor, after meeting him when she was seven years old. Despite her small-town roots, Amy takes everything in her stride and quickly became the Doctor’s best friend. Highly detailed Character Building Doctor Who construction TARDIS playset featuring 2 micro-figures; The Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond. For ages 5 years and over.

I would say ‘waste of money’ but then I remembered this set is made for people that make ‘figure adventures’ for easier TARDIS dematerialization! I won’t get it as I dont make figure adventures and as I said… its not very good!

I’m a sucker for clear toys. I’m planning to have this sat on the shelf surrounded by 4 Angels. Don’t need extras of the figures so they’ll end up given to my friends’ kids.

Not a fan of this set, old figs and a bit pointless, not sure they are getting the testing designing or marketing side of things right.

shame, I hope this isnt the death of the CB line of products/sets, If the sales for these aren’t great I hope they get time to fix it.

      July 17th, 2012 - 10:02am

This one looks nice enough, but it is just a recolour of the original set (which was one of the better sets).

I will definitely get this one… but not so sure about any of the others (maybe the Dalek ship).

character building are starting to annoy me now they keep delaying things and when have a whole world of sets to make they make some really pointless ones

      July 23rd, 2012 - 3:54am

I agree this set is a good example of that I believe they delayed series 3 for series 7 purposes

    July 16th, 2012 - 6:57pm

    • dr tyler

      August 7th, 2012 - 10:43pm

    • dr tyler

      August 7th, 2012 - 10:44pm

also how is it robbing people?

    July 16th, 2012 - 5:22pm

      July 20th, 2012 - 9:35pm

      would be good for animations

  • andrew

    July 16th, 2012 - 4:13pm

I think that this set is good for people who like to do animations, so they can have 3 different frames, one with nothing, one with the dematerialising TARDIS and then the original box. Perfect really for stop motion animators.

      July 16th, 2012 - 4:17pm

no it wouldn’t they would just be able to use the fade transition on their video program

    • dr tyler

      August 7th, 2012 - 10:47pm

    July 16th, 2012 - 4:10pm

I don’t want to get it…. But I Collect Everything to do with Doctor Who (Mostly) so I’ve Got To Get It!

  • 11matt

    July 16th, 2012 - 4:10pm

  • MadmanWithABox

    July 16th, 2012 - 3:55pm

would be nice if it lit up, and if the amy or doctor figures were exclusives to the set

  • The12thDoctor

    July 16th, 2012 - 3:51pm

this set looks cool although i think they should have added different variants of the doctor or amy or maybe instead of amy we should get rory

    July 16th, 2012 - 3:27pm

  • The Enigmatic Watcher

    July 16th, 2012 - 1:59pm

    Would have been better if:
The bottom of it was clear,
The middle to “POLICE BOX” sign was clear blue,
The top was the regular blue.

    • pupbenny

      July 16th, 2012 - 3:28pm

Why though, it’s mean to be dematerialising?

  • Judooning

    July 16th, 2012 - 12:36pm

It looks like an ice TARDIS 😀

    • the TARDIS

      July 16th, 2012 - 6:56pm

They’d probably get more sales if they sold it as that at Christmas!

I have to say, this set looks pretty cool also, the older pictures of this set didnt look very good, but I am pretty impressed with all these new sets, 5″ figures also, CO are doing well with these, which is brilliant!
