Doctor Who: Silhouette (12th Doctor novel)

book-silhouetteDoctor Who: Silhouette (12th Doctor novel) (Hardback)

“Vastra and Strax and Jenny? Oh no, we don’t need to bother them. Trust me.”

Marlowe Hapworth is found dead in his locked study, killed by an unknown assailant. This is a case for the Great Detective, Madame Vastra.

Rick Bellamy, bare-knuckle boxer, has the life drawn out of him by a figure dressed as an undertaker. This angers Strax the Sontaran.

The Carnival of Curiosities, a collection of bizarre and fascinating sideshows and performers. This is where Jenny Flint looks for answers.

How are these things connected? And what does Orestes Milton, rich industrialist, have to do with it all? As the Doctor and Clara joint the hunt for thr truth they find themselves thrust into a world where nothing and no one are what they seem.

If the promotional image of Capaldi from “The Crawling Terror” had been used instead of the same, old and honestly over used image above, then this cover would’ve been the most appealing cover and in my opinion, description, out of the three books being released.

But none-the-less, it still looks appealing and will take that into consideration when I come to order these.

This seems like the one out of the three I am most excited to read, then The Blood Cell – I’ll try and get all three when they are out, but I doubt I will enjoy The Crawling Terror, sounds a bit boring to me.

These are more in the style of a Torchwood novel synopsis…

That’s what I thought. Like, the first sentence could almost be written for Torchwood:

“Torchwood? Oh no, we don’t need to bother them. Trust me.”

This is actually the second after Devil in the Smoke, but it’s nice to have them in a full-length novel now.

‘Marlowe Hapworth is found dead in his locked study, killed by an unknown assailant.’ now that has completely gripped me. Need to buy this it sounds really interesting it also could be quite intellectual for a doctor who story.
