In a lair somewhere beneath central London, a malevolent alien intelligence is plotting the end of humanity. Shop window dummies that can move – and kill – are taking up key positions, ready to strike.

Rose Tyler, an ordinary Londoner, is working her shift in a department store, unaware that this is the most important day of her life. Does it mention anything to do with the Ninth Doctor just after his regeneration?

Read the first few chapters last night and was blown away; the prologue alone is worth the price, adding a whole backstory to a character only mentioned in the first few televised scenes. It is obvious that one is reading a labour of love. Really hope these aren’t a one-off and that they do another wave in the future.

Russell T Davies has said in the novel of Rose there is scene they cut, bits they couldn’t afford to film, new friends for Mikey, more about the file in Clive’s shed and we get more Jackie

Maybe it’s a nod to the old Targets occasionally getting the wrong era for some of the designs on the covers.

Yes, the artist said it’s a homage to the inaccuracies of the original targets. Shame they got the titles right though.

Wait how do you know it’s an homage? Where did the artist confirm this?

You know it’s little gems like this that really make my day. Rose is such a special episode. In some of my darkest days when I really needed Doctor Who, this episode lit up my life again. I cant wait to read this.
And ive just seen Christopher Ecclestone on the One Show. Such a great guy!

Cool, but really hope that russell makes the thing pretty much like classic target books linking the past doctors with the new ones adding doctor to doctor material to make a better continuity that at least ties the story from classic who – movie – new series as we know it already pointing out the milestone that was the day of the doctor itself.

You know maybe a prologue linking the time diferential/blinovitch/last doctor remembers so this is why 9th is merciless and maybe to mention and place better his part in the day of the doctor in an specific point on his personal timeline, thus giving an specific written and updated link between his comics/audio books/etc explaining that point itself on why rose nor any companion is seen fixing the thing in gallifrey before him even existing 😉 not sure if it would work then in the bad wolf paradox plot novel on the partin of the way as a retroactive thing all over as for 9th life the bad wolf paradox was his end and altogether from war doctor moment hallucination the foreshadow of 9th and 10th lives around Rose.

You know, just in our opinion, enhancing that would give more meaning to the short tv relationship of 9th and rose when the day of the doctor was not only to step 11th to his final challenge on the next cycle thanks to clara, but to give the short lived war doctor and john hurt an standing applause round for linking the 9th doctor sad life to his own saddest, to be forgotten until 11th timeline could remember another out of sync multi doctor event.

9th life is really sad trully, and it would be remarkable to as said, connect the novel to past (war being with) and future (10 and 11th doctors) so his timeline could be properly fixed and enhanced before the episode and post time war regeneration, something like a paradox unfolding for his life since the blinovitch/retroactive plot device of 05 – 13. fixing the middle part of this long bible moved one of this daleks to tears…
