Doctor Who: Magic of the Angels
by Jacqueline Rayner

‘No one from this time will ever see that girl again…’

The Doctor, Amy and Rory round off a sight-seeing tour round London with a trip to the theatre. That’s when things start to go wrong.

The Doctor wonders why so many young girls are going missing from the area. When he sees Sammy Star’s amazing magic act, he thinks he knows the answer. Sammy’s glamorous assistant disappears at the climax of the act – but this is no stage trick.

The Doctor and his friends team up with residents of an old people’s home to discover the truth. And together they find themselves face to face with a deadly Weeping Angel.

Whatever you do – don’t blink!

A thrilling all-new adventure featuring the Doctor, Amy and Rory, as played by Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill in the spectacular hit series from BBC Television

I borrowed this from the library in February when it came out. It was an amazing book and very exciting. Now, as from yesterday, I now own my very own copy! I’ve started reading it again I like it so much! Hooray Weeping Angels!

I wouldn’t mind seeing this get turned into a TV adventure! :)

Never read it, but I totally agree after reading the description! I also wish they would turn some of the TV stories in to books and they could have in them unseen scenes. I’d love to read a book of Night Terrors and The Girl Who Waited. Oh and A Good Man Goes to War! :) :)

I got this book today. Just finished reading it. It’s a brilliant book with some funny parts in in it. The beginning of the book is really funny. I think maybe there should have been a little bit more of the Weeping Angels in it but still, i would highly recommend getting this book. It’s great. Also, it doesn’t really take very long to read. It took me 2 and a half hours to read non stop.Great book!

Just finished it! Started reading it last night and it was amazing! Of course I couldn’t read all in one go:
      a) bed
      b) I took some breaks
but as you said the Angels could have been used more but all in all superb writing. One thing I will say though it wasn’t as good as Touched By An Angel which I recommend if you haven’t already read it! :)
p.s I did read The Sontaran Games in one go though! :)

    • Posted by: doctorwhomad February 14th, 2012

Yeah, i agree. I’ve read Touched By An Angel and i thought it was brilliant. The Angels were in it quie a lot ad it was a good story as well.

Looks like an interesting read, although the Quick Reads usually are.

    • Posted by: D0ct0r11 September 6th, 2011

Yeah, I always pick them up. I find that the shortness of the book forces the author to be a lot more concise with their story, so they’re often quite good.

But Weeping Angels again?! I know they’re a great enemy, but they’re starting to be overused.

  20. Posted by: silence will fall September 6th, 2011 Reply

    hopfully i can get it!
