Doctor Who Adventures issue 286
I think I’ve cleaned all the Triceratops dribble out of my jacket and Trousers.
Yeesh, dinn-drool really stinks. Er, and it doesn’t help If you also tread in some giant dinosaur poo as well, which I then trod around everywhere. Oops. I’ve had To hoover the TARDIS – which took months, because it has so many rooms.
Have you ever tried hoovering a tennis court? BUT it’s all done now and I smell lovely, ready For my next adventure in A Town Called Mercy. Can’t wait!

What’s the title of the comic strip?
Posted by: The Flying Shark September 14th, 2012
Hi! This arrived on Tuesday. That wind-up TARDIS is great, and the magazine is a fun read, especially Planet of the Rorys. Next week’s gift has been done before though, but with different pictures on the front.

I went especially to Tesco to get the variant bow tie version (despite having them recently). I then went to WHS and they also had the bow tie.
I have so far not been able to find the spinning TARDIS one.
It is this sort of thing (lack of distribution) that makes me want to stop collecting this magazine as I have every issue and every variant to date, but the lengths one has to go to get all the issues is sometimes a little impractical, costly and time-consuming, when it shouldn’t be.
Posted by: Esterath September 14th, 2012
why do you bother collecting variants?
Posted by: The Monitor September 14th, 2012
Because I think it is integral to exhaustive collecting. I collect variants on nearly all Doctor Who stuff. All the different DWM covers, all the IDW variant covers when I can get them. I get all 6 versions of the DVDs.
I even collect the variants of the target novels.
I drew the line at the ride in Dalek because of the space. The character option figure variants do get tedious and the best new series ones for me are the B&M wave. Smaller packaging, and one figure renamed.

Managed to get a build your own TARDIS from a One-Stop. Do not understand the distribution pattern. Does not appear to be shop-specific.
The difference in gifts is even reflected by the top banner of the magazine, so technically, two different printed covers too.

I got the Tardis with mine from Tescos.
PS. to anyone who was asking I’ve had my surgery, all went well I’ll be resting up at home for the next few weeks.

This mag is so cool so is the tardis.

#FAIL for Tesco near me. They have replaced the “Build your own TARDIS” with a squirty bow tie, and bouncy balls..

Oh no!
Posted by: Esterath September 13th, 2012
VERY diappointed with the free gift. Some bits don’t fit, the wheels can’t fit in because of the pegs, the stickers are badly cut. Sad, because it looked great.
Posted by: booboo September 13th, 2012
mine was fine
Posted by: Esterath September 13th, 2012

Posted by: Doctor Who Crazy Ross September 12th, 2012
I like the look of the Dinosaurs on a Spaceship poster.
Posted by: Dalek Prime Minister September 12th, 2012
Can you post a pic of next weeks gift please?
And do you think they will do a poster like the dinosaurs on a spaceship one for asylum of the dalek, or is the promo pic in the issue out now instead do you think?
Posted by: The Driver September 12th, 2012
Wow, that’s a great gift. Better than having to buy it for £6.99
Posted by: Esterath September 12th, 2012
what do you mean?
Posted by: Mr Evil Fez September 12th, 2012
There was once a toy of a wind up dalek and a wind up tardis early this year.
Posted by: booboo September 12th, 2012
thsi one is a bit smaller but it looks quite decent when made, not bad for CB figures
