Wow Stuff Sonic Screwdriver – Pictures

Onwards! by SilvaScreen

Wow Stuff Sonic Screwdriver

The Wow Stuff Sonic Screwdriver is now heading for the shops with its part metal construction and sonic sound its a Doctor Who gadget for the handyman.

Coming in at about a cm shorter than the Character version, the Wow stuff sonic screwdriver has a good solid feel to it. Intended as a novelty ( but perfectly usable ) screwdriver, it has one sound which is activated buy pressing a button – the front does not flip open as the original so no spring action here but for the price and other features i don’t think you could reasonably expect that. The 3 reversible blades are held in place by magnet and when not in use can be concealed within the screwdriver.

Look out for 3 for 2 and other offers on the WOW stuff range.

The packaging, Character Sonic in the centre for comparison and Wow stuff screwdriver…

The screwdriver pulls apart to conceal the blades, batteries are included…

Also on offer is this Sonic screwdriver pen, twist the top one way for Black ink or the other way for Green ink. A great gift for any Doctor Who fan…

Ugghh.. so i ordered myself a toy Sonic Screwdriver off Amazon and they sent me this by accident. Don’t get me wrong, this is cool and it feels like a prop, but I really wanted the toy! I have ordered another from a different store and hope to get the right one this time!

The pen is a great little novelty and all but the (seeming) lack of refill option is very pricey. I bought it and would recommend it.

As for the screwdriver, screwdriver. I bought one and within 24 hours had to modify the ball bearing catch. This said it’s a great replica an its fully functional (I fixed the door handle at work not 10 minutes past) and it’s great it’s not a toy as such and wouldn’t be a lot of use for role play but it’s a working screwdriver and as an engineer myself I think it’s rather good

In one of the very earliest doctor who adventures “The Aztecs” the Doctor describes himself as an engineer, a builder of things.

If you want a fold out toy with multiple sounds character are your people. But be aware, the limbs are often screwed in to tightly so they crack or the sound circuit “had” flaws thy meant it stopped making sounds after to many use’s of the secret sounds. I have one (my second) loosened the screws and the sound is perfect.

the votesaxon07 is a much more helpfull review

i know, you have to accept this is a novelty item, people expect far to much, some people were expecting a full metal, sprung action all dancing screwdriver for £20 ( or now £15 in most places) and its not going to happen.

Thanks booboo! the votesaxon07 is a much more helpfull review than the drwhotoyreviews one. a much more positive review aswell. i might consider buying this. i just hope that the sound chip hasn’t died in my character version. the sound died at the exact same time as the light so do you think that the batteries have just run out?

does anybody know the amount of power in the batteries needed for the character to version?

It takes 3 AG13, A76, LR44 or L1154 batteries, buy long lasting ones like silver oxide, cheep ones wont last 5 mins. personally i think the wow stuff sonic is very good for the money

Hi I’m just wondering, is the pen metal or is it a plastic to make it look metal?

I’m quite pleased with mine, its £15 novelty item and its good for that, people are expecting far to much in thinking they were getting a fully authentic all metal sonic spring action sonic screwdriver for £15 if you want to pay £50-60 may be you might get one.
