Doctor Who Victory of the Daleks Figure Set

SDCC Victory of the Daleks Collectors’ Set

This is now available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.com. Due 18th July!

Our own images… It has to be said that this figure looks considerably better in hand, the likeness is very good and pictures just dont do it justice…

Underground Toys is thrilled to be releasing details of our Doctor Who: Victory of the Daleks – Collectors’ Set

Set consists of Dalek ironside with tea tray
Winston Churchill figure with 2 heads (one with hat and one without)
Alternative hand
2 pairs of removable glasses
3 telephones

The Doctor has been summoned by his old friend Winston Churchill but in the Cabinet War Rooms, far below the streets of blitz-torn London, he finds his oldest enemy waiting for him… The Daleks are back! And can Churchill really be in league with them?

The Ironsides were designed to be the perfect warrior, after the concept was dreamt up by Professor Bracewell, seemingly from nowhere.

In actual fact, these new weapons which Winston Churchill wanted to use to win the war were in fact Daleks, who had fallen back through time and needed the Doctor to be able to create the new Dalek race.

Professor Bracewell was in fact an android built by the Daleks, part of a complex trap to lure the Doctor back to where they were hiding, so he would unwittingly allow the Dalek race to be reborn thanks to his testimony. The new Daleks appeared, and exterminated the Ironsides.

The three Ironside major variants…

Contents include: 1 x Winston Churchill action figure, 1 x Ironside Dalek action figure with Tea Tray, plus extras!

There’s nothing stopping them from doing earlier ones as well (if anything it is more likely as there are less figures to release from those eras).

      June 28th, 2012 - 6:47pm

I like your response. It probably captures the “mood” of many older collectors. I am getting to the point now where I cherish old series merchandise far more than the new series, because there is just too much of it.

I recently bought a load of merchandise from the mid-1980s and it is proudly on display. New series merchandise just gets archived into storage.

The same with CO figures. I try and display the classic figures, but the new series figures are just archived. Fortunately the classic series box sets are just simply awesome.

Probably one of the heads is wearing a hat and/or glasses and the hand is obviously for when he does his two fingered ‘V’ sign for victory (Something Matt Smith is common to do too by the way xD)

I don’t care so much for the Churchill figure, but the Ironside Dalek with tea tray is probably a gem! I would buy it just for that (and do nothing with the other figure) and add it to my Dalek collection in its showcase (I am too old for talking and moving daleks).

What a odd set? Can’t say I am that excitied about it….only so much you can do with a tea making Dalek 🙂 I will be interested to find out if the make the figure to look like Churchil or the actor who played Churchill – this is a DW first I think – a figure of a real person.

      June 27th, 2012 - 11:07am

well, if you want to be pedantic, then you might say most of them are figures of real people, but i know what you mean

    • Rooners

      June 27th, 2012 - 11:51am

Yeah…the main difference is that although they are all real people in the sense that they are actors…there is no “Doctor” or “Amy” or “Master” in real life…so the figures are modeled on the actor who portrays those fictional charactors…but for the likes of Churchill, Van Gough, Dickens etc….do Charactor Options continue to make the figures look like the actors (who often look nothing like the real people)…or do they model the sculpt on the real person – I suspect they will use the actors to be consistant with the DW Universe.

What?!!??!!?? Although they have been heavily overused recently, you can’t have Doctor Who without the Daleks. It just wouldn’t be right.

“Daleks! I sometimes think those mutated misfits will terrorise the universe for the rest of time.”

    • The Time Lord of Doom

      June 27th, 2012 - 11:11am

Well, ok. I know what you mean. The Daleks should return in the 50th but then just give them a 3 year break maybe? I’m really getting fed up with them.

    • Zak

      July 3rd, 2012 - 9:13pm

I just do not know how some people do not like the daleks, they are the best enemies in doctor who as well as the cybermen.Just a quick question, who wants the Mondas cybermen back?

    • Dalek Sec

      July 4th, 2012 - 8:28am

Definitly, the Cybusman were a bit nostalgic after a few too many episodes. Theres an theory that the Cybusman were brought back from the Void, and dumped on a Planet of sick aliens (Mondas), where they started again.
