The Seventh Doctor first met Ace in the Iceworld trading colony on the planet Svartos. Ace was from Perivale on Earth in the 1980s, but had been deposited on Iceworld in a freak time storm. She hated her real name ‘Dorothy’, and instead rebelliously went by ‘Ace’. She had a dangerous aptitude for high explosives and never shied away from danger.
A teen tearaway Ace matured considerably during her travels with the Doctor, encountering on the way many wondrous planets and places and a true menagerie of enemies from eight foot tall blue Demons, malevolent Victorian houses, the relentless Cybermen, inter-dimensional Arthurian knights, a psychopathic robot called the Kandyman and even the Master while helping the Cheetah People. But it was against the Daleks on Earth in 1963 that she showed the most pluck by dispatching several of them with her trademark Nitro-9 explosives, an RPG and even a baseball bat enhanced by Time Lord technology…Wicked!

Scott, I know that we already have Linx, but it’s the only figure I would like since it is a ‘Time Warrior’ Pack. Plus, since that would be a re-release, it could be cheaper than usual, so that instead of people using to pay £24.99 like they usually do with the two packs, it could be something like £19.99.

Why not Tegan? Or Nyssa? I’d much prefer that than Peri. And yes, I realise that her figure was from The Caves of Androzani, but as I said, I would like a proper companion that was around for a season at least (Tegan, Nyssa, Adric).

July 8th, 2013 - 4:34pmAdric was dead by the end of the series, there was an illusion of him in Time-Flight but not actually him, although it would be nice to have a few companions for each, I’d rather they went to some of the other Doctors first who have nothing, rather than one who has two debatable ones.

It would be a pointless figure and also there are aimed for younger viewers as well, so I don’t think parents would want to buy their children figures that hardly have an clothes on except a bikini. I’d rather get new figures or variants of Jo or Ace, not Peri, because she has three and as I said, I don’t like her much.

Craig is actually my favourite Who companion, Clara as a close second with Rory in third place. I also quite like Ace, Peri and Amy. Craig is underrated, and I really hope he appears again, maybe even go inside the TARDIS this time… Christmas maybe?

July 6th, 2013 - 8:35pmThere are a large number of “Arguable” companions, but everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. I try to count anyone who accompanies the Doctor – whether, by TARDIS, Bessie, UNIT HQ, etc. – on more than one CONSECUTIVE adventure (counting The Feast of Steven as separate to The Daleks’ Master Plan episodes 1-6 & 8-12 because it is more or less a separate adventure, same goes to An Unearthly Child and 100,000BC). Therefore, Craig is not a companion, only an assistant (MAIN helper for 1 episode, like the Brigadier isn’t, but Astrid Peth is)

July 6th, 2013 - 9:59pmBut Craig is a rather unusual case as he is one of the few people who the Doctor has called his companion in the show. Then by the same token you have Sarah Jane Smith who has explicitly stated she was an assistant not a companion.
Really, the best way to tackle it is to base it on what they do, rather than how long they do it for and when. A companion is somebody who is in the Doctor’s company, an assistant is someone who assists him. I’d say there are a lot of people who would fit into both of these categories who aren’t considered by anyone

It looks like UT are working towards at least one companion per-Doctor, (6th = Peri) (4th = Leela) (3rd = Jo) (7th = Ace) plus the Brigadier who was the Doctors greatest non-companion ally. So that leaves companions for Doctors 1, 2, 5, and 8. Jamie is rumored, so I’m hoping for Barbara/Ian, Tegan and Grace.
