The Zygon and Eleventh Doctor body are 3.75 inch however the Tenth Doctor and Eleventh Doctor head are photoshopped from the 5 inch range

Hopefully a War Doctor figure won’t be too far away. I think kids took to an older Doctor really well, which has carried on over to Peter Capaldi’s fantastic incarnation. We now have two Doctors, Clara, Zygons and more Daleks than you can shake a stick at from The Day of the Doctor, so a War Doctor would be greatly received.

but we already have a 5 inch. this is the problem, no point having a day of the doctor set without the war doctor, but we have him in another size.
can’t have one without the other

Got my set and I love it.

The Tenth Doctor is really good and maintains the quality of the previous release, I’m also surprised by how good the glasses look on such a small scale.

The Eleventh Doctor features a fantastic face sculpt of Matt Smith. I can understand why some people have problems with the hair, as the side fringe should really have been sculpted, but it doesn’t bother me too much, it’s not hard to pretend it’s in his fez!

The Zygon is superb and I really like the lighter wash over it, it definitely adds to the sculpt.

    Great!

What is so weird about that obviously photo shopped picture is that they have made 10th doctor suit brown, when the picture of the actual product is grey like the set and the Matt smith looks much better than the actual product.

Misleading promo image. It’s ridiculous, these aren’t even prototypes, just edited images of 5 inch figures. The Zygon, fine. Tennant, disgraceful. Infact, I actually like 10th’s sculpt in 3.75, so why not just use it? Smith, is just the head, but still poor, because the hair is totally wrong. It’s making us believe the 3.75 inch have captured the 5 inch detail, simply because we have no size comparisons here.
I personally think that’s false advertising, totally different sculpts, not even prototypes.

I know this I Photoshopped but why, why does the 5 inch tenant shown actually have a brown suit when the figure itself had a grey suit? I just find it strange as to why they didn’t do this all those years ago

I thought smith’s hair looked flat under the fez and tennant just looks too shiny!

That’s the headsculpt they used on the Pandorica set. I must say though the 11th Doctor figure looks good, even if it is photoshopped. Maybe they should do a 5 inch scale version of this set because the Zygon looks amazing.

  • Sam Richard Bentley

    October 30th, 2014 - 10:11pm

I know these images are, poorly, made from photoshop – but am I the only one who thinks the Zygon almost looks good enough to be 5″ here. Definitely looks more detailed and ‘larger’ than the 3.75″.

the monsters usually look good in this scale too, but it’s not a 5″ one, those were modelled after the classic era design.

Probably a prototype. It looks SOOOOOO good!

I know there isn’t a 5″ one of the modern series, but the image above looks 5″. I don’t know what it is… the paint detail… something about the articulation.. I don’t know, but when I saw this I actually thought it was 5″ for a few seconds.

    • Balakin

      October 30th, 2014 - 10:29pm

Checkout the Ice warrior figure too, that also looks really good. Also the Daleks have exactly the same amount of details as their 5″ counterparts.
It seems like when it comes to applying bits and bobs the size doesn’t matter, only in case of actual humans (and those are getting better too, maybe one day we will even see a 3.75″ figure which surpasses it’s 5″ equivalent. Maybe a Peri who doesn’t look like Rowan Atkinson 😀 ).

Zygon has a different paint app. And although the figures are good for the scale, they look nothing like this image 😆

  • Chris

    October 30th, 2014 - 9:56pm

Why they haven’t just used a photo of the actual product, like with the other 3.75″ figures, is beyond me. Would probably have taken less effort than trying to work some Photoshop magic.

Yeah you can tell the head is photoshopped from the pandorica wave 11th doctor and the tennant is clearly the 5 inch line with brainy specs ! Thankfully the zygon is the right figure

    • StetsonDoctor

      October 30th, 2014 - 9:57pm

Yeah, well I suppose the photoshopping is not bad, however this image does an awful job at representing the actual set! The Eleventh Doctor is just photoshopped, Ten is a photoshopped 5″ version, and like you say the Zygon is the only one that actually looks OK.

Picked my set up today from the Preston store. Had to ask a member of staff, as there were none on the shelves. It’s a brilliant set – the Zygon is a much darker orange in places and the likenesses to Matt Smith and David Tennant are great, even if the Eleventh Doctor’s hair does look a little odd.
