For what it’s worth, I prefer screen accuracy most of the time so I’m not a big fan of classic color schemes on modern body sculpts. I’ll be skipping this set and probably the comic book based one as well, and will probably just focus on the “Evil of the Daleks” set. I haven’t researched yet to see if they’re really screen accurate themselves but at first glance at least they appear to be classic colors on classic bodies.

£6.99 each or £14.99 for two? Sounds like a bargain!

I do like the look of these Daleks.
I just wish they were in the older 5″ scale range.

I don’t like the 3.75″ scale range at all.

were these sets ever for sale on tru site? more than likely there’ll be loads of them after the initial scramble for first few sets has ended, bit like the dalek twin packs.

Just received all 3 sets. This one is my favourite as the colour of the classics goes really well with the new series design.

No loose eye stalks and good paint apps. Very pleased 🙂

I caved in and bought this set on eBay and I love it! I might get that black Dalek out and paint his spots blue though lol.

I think the 3.75 RTD/NSD Daleks are much better quality than the classic ones. I will buy the other sets but they aren’t on the TRS website yet! Will they be? It’s very annoying. Every TRS I’ve been to doesn’t stock them! It’s maddening!

      Because they look cool!
No,tbh these are based on the movie daleks, they were supposed to have extended bases, but they must have been too costly

    • Anonymous

      November 11th, 2014 - 4:51pm

Very costly, they’d have to actually buy the license to base them on the films.

      November 12th, 2014 - 11:06am

The point of these is, they play on the tradition in comics of “What if”… ie What if Uncle Ben hadn’t died in Spider-Man.

This one is “What if…” the daleks were this design and these colours in this story…

The answer is, pretty darn cool.

Don’t understand why these sets aren’t online? They are already on eBay going for almost a tenner more than they sell for in the TRU with a week to go till the auction ends. I don’t have a TRU within easy distance so want to get them online. They will probably sell out before I can get one 🙁

I wish they were on the TRS website too 🙁 I’ve been to three TRSs in London and none of them had the new Daleks. I did see a new K9 and the Zygon set (which doesn’t look as good as the promo picture lol).

I don’t normally buy figures. Well, never to be exact, but these look AWESOME! The most badass Dalek designs in some of the coolest paintjobs? What’s not too like! Mind you, I would like to see the Silver/Black scheme from Death to the Daleks (?) on Time War Daleks.

I got mine Today too, along with the Children of The Revolution and Evil of The Daleks Sets, I think this is my personal Favourite out of the 3 because the Colours work so well with the 2005 Design and as Chris said earlier they remind me of the Power of The Daleks Reimagined Fan Film.

These are very nice, though I may use them to create the Ironsides Dalek as I am a bit of a purist. Either that or you can call them the official Daleks of The Power of The Daleks fan film. :o)

Doesn’t stop them from using artistic license. Fans have joked about how Hasbro’s much maligned figure set ‘Disturbance at the Lars Homestead’ is basically a scene recreation from the fanfilm ‘Troops’.

      No.

These are 2005 era Daleks, with “Classic” paintwork.

Nothing to do with the Peter Cushing movie Daleks.

  • XanderWhovian

    October 28th, 2014 - 12:29pm

they’ve incorrectly painted the dalek supreme, it’s a cross between the dalek invasion of earth supreme and the remembrance of the daleks supreme 😀 silver hemispheres like rememberance, but greyish-blue chest bit like the 60s 😀 but other than that, officially, that is an entirely new colour scheme

The colour scheme is that of the second movie except that the black one’s hemis should be gold. They are presumably not allowed to use either the shape of the movie Dalek or the name of the film.

Love the other two sets, but this one. I don’t mind the idea of classic colour schemes on New Dalek’s, I’m all for it in fact, but the colours just don’t pop all that well. It feels as though Character went a bit Dapol on us here with Dalek’s in garish, non-televised liveries.

Typical. They release a TRU exclusive just after I leave the shop.

As these are the only repainted 2005 classics, I can only conclude that, cool as they may look, either character is too lazy to make a CONSISTENT range (either a 2005/classic mash-up range OR a authentic classic range) or character had not produced the large-bumper-and-dish variant at the time those photos were taken.

Looks great, but prefer the 5 inch. They got more details than 3.75 but they do look great. I believe it gives younger children more entertainment because it’s suitable for them as 3.75 inch is a proper toy measurement but 5 inch is more of a collection figure. Hopes parents will buy them for their children on Christmas!

All three of these new sets look really cool, however I wish all these Toys ‘R’ Us exclusives would get probably announced beforehand. We’ve also had lots of new exclusives recently, which is good to see. There’s the Asylum Set, RC K9, these 3.75″ Dalek sets and the anticipated 3.75″ Day set which will no doubt be found in a store first. I hope this is a good new start for TRU, as their Doctor Who section has not exactly been brilliant over the past few years has it?

I’m not crazy about the 2005 era Dalek in the “Remembrance Supreme” paint scheme, but that’s just my opinion.

I just wish they weren’t in the awful 3.75″ scale range.
