If it is January the 1st then it will be run as part of the Christmas promotion so it won’t be long until we find out. Though a date is unlikely to be set.

I do expect it will start during the holiday period whether thats say 27th or 28th or the following Friday or Saturday, I expect it will be weekly.

I think Jane Tranter straight up told it’s going to be in 2026, but I also expect it to be early on. I am pretty sure the proper trailer or any solid info will come on 23 November.

We may be waiting a while. The release date is in 2099! 😉

If they have redesigned the classic sea devils just for the sake of it it will be doomed to failure. Disney’s involvement has been a perfect illustration of money not making up for quality of storyline or integrity in remaining true to the ethos of the series ( not to mention some of the most laughably bad cgi…). “The war between the land and the sea” is a last chance, I hope it isn’t wasted.

I hope this means the show will be out very early 2026.

Wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if it’s 1st January

I think it was meant for October but the lack of series 3 probably made them think ‘we’ll push it back a few months, i’d be surprised if it isn’t January, maybe the the 3rd which is the first Saturday of 2026

I see there was a statement from Jane Tranter.

According to the Royal Television Society’s Television Magazine, Tranter insists that Disney has always had the right to walk away after 26 episodes have aired. Then, and only then, does Disney+ have to make a decision about whether or not they want to do more.”

So moving BTWATS to Jan 1st (latest rumour) keeps the door open for negotiation, stops Disney showing it and Gives the BBC breathing space and New who Content for 2026.

I do wonder if this press release was meant for when it was Due October.

So looking forward to this though.
