Nothing to make me annoyed, I liked it, it’s one of my favourite Peter Davison stories.

What I would really like is people to stop knocking Matthew Waterhouse continually in Interviews & Features – It’s starting to get very tiresome….

sorry, what actually are special editions? i know it has remastered sound and picture quality. but does it still have all the original footage? and does it have the original trasnmission version in it to?

In most cases it has all the original footage but in 1 or 2 cases there is an odd ocasion where a documentary has rights that have expired and getting the clearance to put it on the new edition isnt possible. Tombwatch on tomb of the cyberman and Panopticon 93 footage on three doctors to name 2. All special editions are as transmited

    • Gordon

      February 26th, 2013 - 1:31am

Just double checked. You are right about it being an easter egg but its just a dedication caption rather than a news item

I think I’m the only one to notice this, but did anyone else realise that the London Fire is behind and under The Doctor. It’s almost like it’s consuming him, but not the Terriliptel or android. Very cool way to imply the results of the story.

This looks like a SE well worth getting – to think a few years ago that Janet Fielding wouldn’t give a “to-camera interview” and now here she is doing interviews, Big Finish stuff, etc. Seeing PD, SS, MS and JF all together again on screen will be well worth it. And for me The Visitation was the story where I thought “yup, Peter Davison IS the Doctor”.

Love the story, and, yeah, this did need a special edition! I’d love to see much more special editions this year, only a few mind; An Unearthly Child in November with an Adventure in Space and Time on of course, Horror of Fang-Rock (a making of), Earthshock (it’s rumoured), The Two Doctors (picture quality and making of), Ghost Light (picture quality) and The Curse of Fenric (making of, even though it was packed with features, so, probs not) And THAT cover… WOW…

it would be absolutely awesome if there were to be 50th anniversary se’s of the 5 doctors and the 3 doctors

    • McGann is the Doctor

      February 20th, 2013 - 12:49pm

I really don’t think the Five Doctors or 3 Doctors need a rerelease, the latter has been recently rereleased and the former has a VERY substantial rerelease from 2008.

I have heard that unfortunately, Ghost Light is as good looking as it ever will be, though I hope they can improve it somehow.

An Unearthly Child DEFINITLY needs a rerelease because the original DVD was pink. That’s right, the glorious first ever episode of Doctor Who, has a pink cover. What a disgrace ❗

Give me a Two Doctors rerelease with a better cover soon ❗

I really want this to be the last but at the same time I want a Earthshock special edition as it in my opinion I’s the only one needed to be special editioned for Peter Davison range.what’s you’r thoughts do u think this will be the last 5th doctor DVD release?

Does anyone know the special features yet? This story is one of the best Peter Davison story’s and it’s got the awesome villains the tetraps with there brilliant costumes and the setting in the Black Plague and the fire of London is great! This relase is coming out in May so thats very close. Have they released a trailer yet?
