The Sinister Sponge & Other Stories Audio Annual CD

Available to order from

A selection of weird and wonderful stories from the pages of Doctor Who Annual, featuring the first six Doctors and their companions.

Jon Culshaw, Frazer Hines, Dan Starkey, Louise Jameson and Nicola Bryant read a selection of exuberant and colourful tales from the legendary Doctor Who Annual, a Christmas stocking treat from the 1960s to the 1980s.

In Terror on Tiro the First Doctor endures a punishing journey across an alien landscape in order to find his friend. Follow the Phantoms takes the Second Doctor, Jamie and Victoria to a land where the boundaries of time are blurred.

The Third Doctor and Jo find themselves catapulted into The House That Jack Built, and then Sarah falls under the influence of The Sinister Sponge.

The Fourth Doctor and Leela encounter The Crocodiles from the Mist, and the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough join forces with the Brigadier to tackle a threat posed by The Nemertines.

In Beauty and the Beast the Sixth Doctor and Peri enjoy the delights of an idyllic world – until they discover an uncomfortable truth beneath the surface.
Take a nostalgic journey through time with these vintage Doctor Who adventures!

I found calling the main character Doctor Who all the time very grating. We all know him as the Doctor. Also Tardis is The The Tardis. I may be nit picking but it just got on my nerves.

Lovely Cover and Moving on from the previous “annual editions”.

Shame we have lost Matthew Waterhouse, as I have a high regard for his readings, in both the Annuals and Both the Target Range and Big Finish .

Still Louise , Nicola and Frazer are on Duty. Shame we can not use more of the People from the Eras (carole Ann, William Russell* and Aneeke Wills , rather than bring in Other people. Both Dan and Jon are excellent readers, but it feels more in keeping with these Annual Readings to at least Try to maintain some links.

Still looking forward to this and The Terry Nation Dalek Edition , as they Bring Christmas back to being 11 and that is never a bad idea

I agree, would like some different readers as, to me, it seems certain people are being used for the majority of releases, but it may be a cost cutting measure as they can have the actors perform multiple stories at the same time. At least they seem to be doing a few odd choices elsewhere, i.e. Steven Pacey reading Terminus, or Michael Kilgarriff doing Seeds of Doom.
