Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure
Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk
The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.
He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.
This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

December 7th, 2013 - 10:25amBooboo i have a question,
What is the most rarest doctor who figure in the 5inch scale?
None of these character building gold chase figures or 3.75 varients :-/ they annoy me :/
booboo
December 7th, 2013 - 10:32amPackaged river song with vespiform part probably

December 7th, 2013 - 9:51amDoes the 8th head go on to the normals eights body?

December 7th, 2013 - 9:56amI think you might want to change your username to RENEGADE TIMELORD.

December 7th, 2013 - 8:16amDid Character Options manufacture this figure? It does not seem par with their usual standards. It looks almost as though he was MEANT to be 3.75″ but they had to maximise it and stick on a McGann head so it can be sold in the Classic collection.
Otherwise, I think it’s a lovely idea. I’m hoping the figure will be better in hand. If so, I will purchase this with Xmas money. 🙂

December 7th, 2013 - 5:00amJust so over the moon right now!! Can’t wait to have this. I love the detail, yes, he’s a tad bulky, but I’m sure that’s a prototype (mass product ALWAYS looks different). I’m just happy that we even GOT a War Doctor, much less a War Doctor in 5 inch scale! That’s fantastic. NOW my 11 Doctors box set can be complete! Like, really complete. A 5 inch Capaldi would be brilliant, but I’m not going to push my luck, hahaha. Fantastic news!
DoctorWho50
December 7th, 2013 - 11:40amThe feeling is mutual friend.
Tenth Doctor
December 7th, 2013 - 4:54amthat doesn’t look like his sonic, the light was red, not blue. It looks like he’s holding ten’s sonic!
DoctorArkham
December 7th, 2013 - 8:17amPrototype image. Subject to change. That’s why the prototype for the Season 18 4th Doctor held a sonic screwdriver, but when the release arrived it had been scrapped due to its minimal use in the season.

December 6th, 2013 - 3:46pmIs 3.75 inch?
The Saviour of Gallifrey
December 6th, 2013 - 3:51pmIt quite clearly says 5″

December 6th, 2013 - 3:56pmI missed the 5 when I first saw it

December 7th, 2013 - 11:42amI won’t be surprised if this sells out quickly for pre-orders!
DoctorWho2013
December 6th, 2013 - 4:53am…And the costume is clearly nothing like the Dark Eyes variant outfit. Just because the War Doctor wears a leather jacket does not make it compatible with the Dark Eyes costume!
Also, both Doctors are too well built….whilst there is nothing wrong with a portly incarnation of the time lord (actually would love to see a Poirot / Cracker-esque Doctor one day) for both Hurt and McGann the body just looks wrong! As both mean are quite slender – McGann even more so.
DoctorWho2013
December 6th, 2013 - 4:50amHere’s my problem with it – this is The War Doctors costume…
McGann didn’t even wear this in the Night of the Doctor!!! He had his own TV movie-esque design…meaning if he regenerated in to the War Doctor in this outfit why would he be wearing John Hurts? That’s rather silly, unless it’s a tie-in with something we’ll see in the Christmas Special? There are rumours of another appearance of Eight in it…
Also if this is meant to be Eight from NOTD then what’s up with the hair on the head sculpt? It appears to be from Dark Eyes…

December 6th, 2013 - 4:33amhis chest is really big, it looks like he has a six pack.

December 5th, 2013 - 6:37pmI know we shouldn’t be getting too excited for future 5″ New Series, but here’s just some sets I thought of. They are called The Adventure Sets, and include one doctor, one companion and one monster:
1st Doctor, Susan & Sensorite
2nd Doctor in Fur Coat, Jamie & Yeti
3rd Doctor, Liz Shaw (DWaTS) & Classic Silurian
4th Doctor, Sarah Jane & Muto
5th Doctor, Tegan & Terileptil
6th Doctor, Mel & Lord Kiv
7th Doctor, Ace & Cheetah Person
8th Doctor, Grace & ??
9th Doctor, Rose & Auton Bride
10th Doctor, Donna & Tritovore
11th, Clara & 2013 Cyberman
Trenzalore
December 5th, 2013 - 6:39pmGrace and master?
100000BC
December 5th, 2013 - 7:05pmWhy are the 6th and 10th Doctors with companions that haven’t met the monsters and the others single episode sets?
TheExtremeBlueTARDIS
December 6th, 2013 - 7:38amBecause I didn’t mean they necessarily had to be from one episode. The 2nd Doctor Adventure Set just was a coincidence. I’d much rather have a Tritovore than a… What, a Crazy Dalek Caan?
The Saviour of Gallifrey
December 6th, 2013 - 8:41amWhy not a Miss Foster with Sonic Pen?
TheExtremeBlueTARDIS
December 6th, 2013 - 4:02pmMeh, Miss Foster would be an okay figure, and would be my last choice. Personally these are the potential figures we could have had:
Anne Droid
Pilot Fish
Series 1 Improved Rose Variant
Clockwork Woman
Macra Deluxe Figure
Destroyed Dalek Caan
Donna Noble (Start of TUATW)
Cybershade
Jackson Lake
Tritovore
Stingray Deluxe Figure
Flood Andy
Gadget!!
Saturnyne
Smiler IN Booth
Liz 10
Ganger In Acid Suit
Siren
Amy Peg Doll
Handbot
Minotaur
Long Coat Doctor
Anti-Bodies
Older Amy
DoctorArkham
December 7th, 2013 - 8:20amI think they’re all good ideas but the Amy Peg Doll. I think a more likely release would either be the Dancer or Mrs Rossiter, just so it doesn’t HAVE to be Amy specifically.
yeahyeahyeahs
December 5th, 2013 - 6:09pmi like it and it’s awesome cos it’s 5″ but it looks a bit weird the Paul mcgan head sculpt and the body looks too wide
UDWF1
December 5th, 2013 - 9:38pmI personally will be using the seperate Paul McGann head with a custom body to resemble the one from The Night of the Doctor more. It’s still nice that they included it
ice warrior
December 5th, 2013 - 5:53pmI hope they make a john hurt tardis playset.
pupbenny
December 5th, 2013 - 5:36pmI hope they change the colour of the Sonic Screwdriver to it’s actual colour….
pupbenny
December 5th, 2013 - 5:37pmIf they do that then I’ll probably get it.
ice warrior
December 5th, 2013 - 5:43pmIt is a shame it isn’t a 3.75 inch figure.
Danny Brown
December 5th, 2013 - 5:44pm@ice warrior I’m glad it 5 inch!
Danny Brown
December 5th, 2013 - 5:46pmyeah it looks like the 9th doctor’s sonic!
matt9982
December 5th, 2013 - 5:47pmI like the 5 inch but hope they do a 3.75″ aswell
Johnny
December 6th, 2013 - 1:34pm@ matt9982 – Very doubtful they will do a 3.75″ figure as the 5″ one matches the rest of the Classic Doctors that have already been released.
mrewanwatson
December 6th, 2013 - 11:43pmGood that its 5″ because then we have all of the Doctors in 5″
Andrew
December 5th, 2013 - 5:10pmThis gives me hope of 5′ figures, more classics, and more McGann stuff, great set, can’t wait!
Danny Brown
December 5th, 2013 - 4:11pmYES! 5 inch!
Anonymous
December 5th, 2013 - 4:10pmI’ve got an idea you know how we didn’t see hurt regenerate in to 9 Maybe what Moffat said is true that he was anomaly doctor which could of meant judging by this figure that he regenerated back in to eight and that’s were the Christmas episode ties in!
Scott
December 5th, 2013 - 5:03pmBut you see 9’s face forming as he regenerates
Anonymous
December 6th, 2013 - 5:11pmYeah…that makes no sense and as Scott said we all saw the War Doctor regenerate into what was clearly CE’s face…
Davide Edinburgh
December 5th, 2013 - 4:06pmIm very happy and not complaining but now 3.75” , 5”, 3.75”, limited edition, supposedly rares found easily abroad, classic packaging for figures of new doctor who… very confused and messy is the situation, but in the total caos im happy 😀
the merchandise guru
December 5th, 2013 - 4:00pmI think an Eccleston head would be more appropriate. So we can see what he looks like regenerated!
Danny Brown
December 5th, 2013 - 5:47pmYes that would be better!
Anonymous
December 6th, 2013 - 5:14pmWhat I’m assuming is that they will release a Young War Doctor (seen breifly at the end of the Night of the Doctor) weaing the 8th Doctors outfit form that episode…we can then go head swap crazy…8th Doc head on Young War Doctor and Young War Doctors head on Old War Doctors body.
I know my orginal Eigtht Doctors head comes off really easy…I’m hoping this new scupt will fit
RexisnotyourDoctor
December 5th, 2013 - 1:39pmOi, internet, I leave you alone for a few hours and you spring this on me!
Nice figure. Neat Moment accessory. I suspect the stock photos aren’t doing the sculpt justice, though.
I’m a bit more hopeful for a 5” Capaldi and maybe even a JLC figure now.
Dalek the Supreme
December 5th, 2013 - 5:01pmI heard rumors of a 5 inch 11th Doctor in his costume from The Snowmen, maybe they’re planning to release a Snowmen set with the 11th Doctor, Dr. Simeon, and maybe Clara. It’s probably gonna be a single carded release if it IS released, but we’ll see.
DrWhoFan1
December 5th, 2013 - 5:09pmI totally agree RexisnotyourDoctor, I have much more hope of finally getting a 5″ Clara and Peter Capaldi! Do hope so, not forgetting 5″ Series 7b Doctor of course! Fingers crossed!
Dalek sec
December 7th, 2013 - 12:30amI am still skeptical of a capaldi figure. I hope there will be one. However I want an Clara/oswin figure more. Seeing as she was in the pre 2013 “asylum of the Daleks” it is possible. (and no character I will not ACCEPT another 5 inch dalek figure as an oswin figure)
The Day Of The Doctor
December 5th, 2013 - 1:34pmis there a larger picture of the figure?
booboo
December 5th, 2013 - 1:38pmno that the biggest one they have released so far
oscarwho
December 5th, 2013 - 11:41amIt’s a long time to wait.
Eric Thornsberry
December 5th, 2013 - 11:27amThank god, more 5 inch scale!!!! Does this mean a return to the beloved series we were told was being downsized? Sorry friend Whovians, the little figures were awful.
booboo
December 5th, 2013 - 11:35amno, Characters main range continue in 3.75″ – this is an underground toys commission hence FP only in the UK
Dominic Kane
December 5th, 2013 - 11:41amSo character options didn’t make this?
booboo
December 5th, 2013 - 11:56amthe make it but for Underground toys so they dont market it themselves so there is a very big difference, that’s why you can buy it at FP in the UK
TimSlader
December 5th, 2013 - 11:57amCouldn’t agree more. The 5″ scale are much better, more detail and clarity. They stand out on a shelf. Having all of the 5″ range, I don’t bother with the smaller ones which is a shame because I enjoyed collecting them. Maybe we could start a petition to get them released in both formats!!!
booboo
December 5th, 2013 - 12:00pmwhat good would a petition to Character do?
if you want to petition anyone it should be the wholesale buyers, if they dont buy you dont get.
Chris
December 5th, 2013 - 12:50pmI really hope they eventually decide to do a 5 inch release of the 11th Doctor in his purple coat. Seriously, I was sooooo looking forward to that figure. Would’ve been awesome. Then they had to ruin it by going to 3.75 inch. Such a trivial matter, but I seriously hope they decide to go back eventually (and re-release the current 3.75″ in the proper 5″).
Dalek the Supreme
December 5th, 2013 - 5:03pmAs upset I am that I’m gonna have to switch to a new scale or forget about Doctor Who figures from Series 7 onwards, it’s that backwards way of thinking that has the New Paradigm Daleks shoved into the background for no in-story reason.
Scott
December 5th, 2013 - 5:08pmIf it ain’t broke don’t fix it
The Day of The Doctors
December 5th, 2013 - 10:30amAnd in that pack he has the wrong screwdriver.
The Day of The Doctors
December 5th, 2013 - 10:29amI will get two one to keep in the packet. And the other one to display. But with the 8th Doctor version he look to fat. I think they should have made a two pack instead.
