Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure
Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk
The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.
He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.
This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

August 27th, 2014 - 9:22pmAlready got one, but I got it from evilbay. Why restock in the US but not here? Was it just leftovers? Any idea Booboo?
booboo
August 27th, 2014 - 9:28pmno idea UT aren’t forthcoming with any information
pot luck if we get more stocks in the Uk but no one will tell us if they are expected anyway
we will be sure to keep our eyes open
If FP were getting more stock there is no reason why it would not be up for pre order already

August 3rd, 2014 - 1:44pmWhere would be the best place to source one of these now? They came and went so quickly! 🙁

August 3rd, 2014 - 4:54pmWell, if your willing to pay 40-50 pounds for this figure, then eBay is your best bet.

June 6th, 2014 - 5:34amI just picked one up for retail ( I was in shock ) they had about 3 left , I wanted them all but wanted to be fair to other who fans , newbury comics Hyannis mass has them , best bet is newbury comics
Andrew Shaw
May 22nd, 2014 - 6:07amI think they should make a card or something for Doctor Who fans so when a new item comes out they can go and get it without all the people who aren’t even interested in the figure but just know that if they buy a bulk of them they can double their money on each one, I’m sick of missing out and either not getting or not having enough to pay what these guys want, there should be some thing you have to do to prove your a fan to get the card so they cant just get one laso why the hell are they selling them to individuals in bulk.
George
May 27th, 2014 - 10:46pmThat’s hardly fair, how do you test a ‘true’ fan? Some little kid wants to have one because he likes Doctor Who and he can’t because he can’t remember which aliens live in the Medusa Cascade ect?
Looks more like a case of blaming your problems on everyone else. These were available for pre order a long time in advance, and still remained in stock for months afterwards. It was released as a limited edition figure and it somehow took you this long to try to buy one?
Pigbin Josh
June 1st, 2014 - 10:55pmI agree with George.
Tardispals
June 6th, 2014 - 7:32amI kinda agree with Andrew it is a little unfair… Apart from the whole “prove your a dr who fan thing”…

May 17th, 2014 - 4:48pmI am already forgetting about it. When are they coming back into stock i phoned them about a month ago.

May 18th, 2014 - 5:30pmBe nice if they made doctor who ice cream in these situations 😆
I don’t think it was an amazing figure as everyone said, the moment device was perfect in every way but the figure was quite… average.
You may still find one somewhere anyway.

May 20th, 2014 - 9:22amThere’s two left on ebay

May 13th, 2014 - 10:48amSo glad i ordered this as soon as it came it!
joe gould
May 10th, 2014 - 5:33pmI don’t believe it. I have been counting numerous
days waiting for one and still nothing. I have already ordered one 11th doctor figure and made one 7th doctor custom figure.
Glasgo
May 5th, 2014 - 9:25amThese still haven’t been anywhere near Scotland yet. FP Glasgow claim not to know anything about when they should be in stock and when I get them to ring stores in London, they claim that it’s not actually supposed to be out yet and officially they were supposed to come out this summer
RexisnotyourDoctor
May 6th, 2014 - 3:39pmWeird. Particularly as it’s FP Scotland/International who started fulfilling online orders first. Maybe they allocated all/most of their stock to the website and didn’t anticipate the demand for the figure?

April 26th, 2014 - 7:40pmI have recently bought this figure for thirty pounds. I only have the one, so should I open it? or is it best just to keep it in its box?
The Silent Silent
April 26th, 2014 - 10:42pmI would buy another to keep in box 🙂
joe gould
April 27th, 2014 - 1:50pmDo what you want, because when you take it out, it can be put back in again.
The Silent Silent
April 27th, 2014 - 2:31pmI agree, it comes out very easily and can be put back 🙂
joe gould
April 27th, 2014 - 4:36pmWell i have not got it but i have seen on youtube.
George
May 2nd, 2014 - 9:59amIf you take it out of the box, even if you put it back in, it’s officially a loose figure and doesn’t retain it’s value.
If you remove it from packaging, it costs you whatever the difference in price will be between loose and MIB if you ever decide to sell it, but what’s the point of it if you’re not going to open and enjoy it? It’ll be worth a lot either way so you might as well. 😛

April 23rd, 2014 - 5:41pmJust finished modeling my series 7 bells of st john figure and i only need to paint it.
the astronaut of death
April 23rd, 2014 - 5:42pmIs it the doctor?

April 23rd, 2014 - 6:53pmI made a series 7b doctor using bits from the bracewell figure, the coat and waistcoat, then painted it. doesn’t look too bad.

Trenzalore
April 22nd, 2014 - 5:38pmIf you can find it definitely. You just have to look down these posts to see the positive things being said about it. (bearing in mind a lot of places have sold out although there is a possibility of more stock but it’s not confirmed)
RexisnotyourDoctor
April 22nd, 2014 - 9:42pmDepends where you’re getting it from and how much you’re paying for it.
It’s a good figure, but it’s not worth 50 quid PLUS P&P.
The Living Shadow
April 23rd, 2014 - 7:04pmI’d say £15-£25 is a good price! Maybe £30 at a push! Bt obviously it depends on how much you want it!! 😀

joe gould
April 21st, 2014 - 5:47pmBooboo, do you have any clue why they made another 5 inch figure?
booboo
April 21st, 2014 - 5:58pmyes because underground toys commissioned it as they probably knew it would do well
Danny
April 21st, 2014 - 4:39pmIt’s a good figure but i don’t think there’s anything special about it. Because people say ” oh it’s a epic figure best one ever made!” I bet if the doctor who figures never shrunk people wouldn’t be going mad about it. It’s no better than any other doctor who figure.
Trenzalore
April 21st, 2014 - 4:47pmI can honestly say the moment device is easily the best and most detailed accessory I’ve ever had. But like you, I’ve never been too keen on the actual figure.
The Living Shadow
April 21st, 2014 - 5:07pmI think he’s the best 5″ figure, he really stands out detail wise next to all the other doctors and monsters!
joe gould
April 21st, 2014 - 5:38pmsomeone here asked if they’re going to bring the 5 inch figures back but someone said no but will they make more like this, i mean a special figure at a random time? Such as peter capaldi or matt smith series 7 figure.
Dalek1234
April 21st, 2014 - 5:51pmnow I think about it Danny it isn’t realy that good I mean I have like 50 figures and it dosnt stand out it just looks like any other 5 inch figure! but the moment is ace!
George
May 2nd, 2014 - 10:04amIt really is a fantastic figure though, even if this wasn’t rare I’d have to agree that it’s well made.
The articulation is perfect (not so stiff that it causes paint problems or worries about breaking parts, while not being so loose as to cause problems with standing and posing).
The heads pop on and off really easily while staying securely in, seems like contradictory statements but it’s true, best head swapping figure I’ve seen.
The detail is fantastic, lots of little bits finely moulded and The Moment is fantastic.
The Living Shadow
May 2nd, 2014 - 10:19amHe does stand out on display for me, I mean the detail is great on this figure- even the trousers have had additional paint layers added for more depth, also the articulation is great, as is the likeness to John Hurt!
john hurt
April 21st, 2014 - 4:35pmall gone at amazon now, thank god i have one
joe gould
April 21st, 2014 - 5:46pmWell it dosen’t matter if amazon is gone because that was £40.00 (AKA £39.99).
Likethisdayofthedoctor
April 21st, 2014 - 9:34amRight now, there is only one left on amazon .co.uk – £39.99
FP .co.uk – sold out
FP .com – sold out
Whona – sold out (well it says so on the website)
Entertainment earth – ‘temporarily’ sold out
Popcultcha – sold out
And ebay has some horrific prices.
FP .com…it’s almost like the page on this figure doesn’t exist anymore. So they don’t stock it.
WHY ARE THEY ALL IN LONDON!!!!
We’ll I feel sorry for all those who live up country and they don’t own one of these cos you can’t order it online for £14.99 anymore.
The Silent Silent
April 21st, 2014 - 3:44pmThere not all in London. Just went there today and completely sold out 🙁

booboo
April 20th, 2014 - 6:02pmno ides, maybe they held some back
The Living Shadow
April 21st, 2014 - 9:44amWhen I called FP London about this figure, I as didn’t have it and I’d heard they had some, they said they had about 40!! I’m thinking it was a delayed delivery, or some left overs from other FP stores- e.g Dublin because they apparently had a lot there, so maybe they decided to send them to London to sell quicker!
The Silent Silent
April 21st, 2014 - 3:44pmI went there today and they had none on the shelves and have none outback ?

George
April 19th, 2014 - 11:23pmGoogle (or Ebay search) Hawthorne, it’s the guy from the episode with the Smilers (I don’t see any similarity to Capaldi though :/)
joe gould
April 20th, 2014 - 10:28amOh Hawthorne, you said Hawthrone. But i cant take the glasses off.
The Living Shadow
April 20th, 2014 - 2:44pmYeah, sorry, typo. Anyway, a goodway to get the glasses of is to put the figure in very hot water, to make the plastic softer, then it should be easier! 🙂
The Living Shadow
April 20th, 2014 - 2:45pmI think he’s the best head to use, because they (Peter and Hawthorn) both have quite tall heads with shot curly grey hair
joe gould
April 20th, 2014 - 7:22pmOh boiling water, Cheers, i did not think of that. Or mabey i could cut of the glasses. Actually i take that back i’m totaly going to do that, what could possibly go wrong?
joe gould
April 20th, 2014 - 7:25pmAnd i will have to pay for one, i’ve only got £4.27 (because i want to get as much doctor who merchandise as possible because i am crazy about it).

April 21st, 2014 - 10:09amThere aren’t any figures of headless monks though.
Mickeysmith07
April 21st, 2014 - 10:16amI meant after you use the head of hawthorn, use the body and make a headless munk

April 19th, 2014 - 6:47pmBut right now, i should realy learn how to make custom figures so i can make peter capaldi.
The Living Shadow
April 19th, 2014 - 7:02pmUse Hawthrones head
joe gould
April 22nd, 2014 - 8:10pmI just watched a video about how to make a custom capaldi figure and i could just use the hawthorne figure as it is, but only with a few adjustments.

WHAT SHALL I DO?
Balakin
April 19th, 2014 - 10:08amWhy wouldn’t she let you go? It’s a nice place 🙂 Maybe ask her to go with you if she is worried about your safety or something.
FP is your best bet now if you don’t want to pay over 30-40 pounds for it online.

It’s just strange to me, it’s a shop, not a club or something, and it’s not in a bad neighborhood either.
Just check google maps, it’s an 11 minutes walk from Charing cross.
And tell her that it’s your best and cheapest option to get this excellent figure.

JoePlaysGames
April 18th, 2014 - 11:02pmThey Should Remake the 11 Doctors Set. Make it 14 Doctors set. Just the 11 Doctors set with Peter Capaldi,John Hurt and Peter Crushing. All in 5 inch.
George
April 19th, 2014 - 6:35amCushing would probably have rights issues since the movies aren’t owned by the BBC, but the others should work well.
Balakin
April 19th, 2014 - 9:29amCushing is not in continuity, he was not the Doctor, he was called Doctor Who, a human, not an alien and his 2 movies were remakes of 2 Hartnell stories.
Watch any stories where they show all previous Doctors (you know, like Day of the Doctor?). He is not included.
That said, a new set would be cool, maybe after or during series 8 and it could include a 5inch 11th Doctor with his purple coat.
Probably wont happen as CO is making enough money on the cheaper 3.75 inch line, so why bother with the 5inch figures?
Balakin
April 19th, 2014 - 9:34amMaybe eventually they will make a new 13 Doctors, Tardis package set, but with the 3.75 figures. I say that would probably happen sometime in the future, it would make sense (and money)
But that doesn’t interest me at all.
joe gould
April 19th, 2014 - 9:44ami agree.
