I subscribed just because of the thought of collecting the ‘Classic’ figurines. If it was solely New Who I wouldn’t have bothered. Can’t wait for August for the first issue.

there is one showing in the catalogue but i wouldn’t take it as a given (but i would be very surprised if there wasn’t one)

      February 18th, 2013 - 10:41am

I wouldn’t! None of the figures have really taken to the New Daleks and it’ll drop even more because of “Asylum of the Daleks”!

What I’m trying to say is: people don’t believe that these are the main type of Dalek anymore after “Asylum of the Daleks”!

      See what I mean, Booboo?

After Asylum there isn’t a main type any more. Every variant ever is still floatin around out there somewhere and there’s as good a chance of the Doctor stumbling accross an older version as a newer one (probablly would help with the story given the Path Web wipe).

The sculpting I think is superb from images on the web but the painting looks like it covers most of the small details such as the teeth and makes it look poor.

Alas the choice of figures seems to be the same old same old….All stuff thats been released before . What a pity the choice of classic figures is so limited especially from the Hartnell Troughton eras… and with the ludicrous restricted release.. Im rapidly loosing interest in something I was initially rather excited by.

      Such negativity

This has nothing to do with what’s been released before its new collection and bound to include figures that have been released by other makers and you dont know if its the final line up as this is a test release and it could be extended to include more anyway

    • Anonymous

      February 17th, 2013 - 3:06pm

this is a test so will be restricted for now. once test is over and if a success will not be restricted when it relaunches for all in the uk to buy.

As its a test at the moment, they probably have not made up their minds about the final list of characters, so the list could change or be added too. as for the same choices what else can they do, as I am sure a lot of people want these classics first before the others.

it says on the website every Doctor, ice warriors?, sontarans?, zygons and much more and thats just classics. I’m sure there will be many more classics as well as new models. (?=Don’t know if they mean classic)

By the looks of things it will be fairly balanced for each Doctor (although the more popular ones get more, so 3-5 and 10-11 have a lot).

About that I don’t exactly want variants also about ish 50 they probably will plan a lot of classics

Yes it should be unless they make any last minute changes but I don’t think that’s likely.

      February 17th, 2013 - 11:56am

it may be but anything can change with these, for example the test release l MI Tardis card holder had a sound effects top which was dropped for the national release

I’m always a bit skeptical about these sorts of magazine series, since they have a tendancy to get cancelled mid series, delayed, or price hiked.

I hope that isn’t the case though, since a lot of people would probably enjoy this series.

I have no issue with the magazine, it is the forced subscription that bugs me. One of the previous part works was doing very well in a high street newsagent, but beyond a certain issue, they cannot get more issues in despite many customers who want it.

In the end I subscribe, but every year my bank changes its credit cards and it can take several attempts to get through. I usually give up after 15 minutes, so can have 4-5 15 minute attempts to get through.

I’ve seen the Eleventh Doctor figure, and though I am really very excited for the general release, I feel rather dissapointed with the figure. I wish it was a more I conice pose for the Doctor, rather than with the speaker from TPO, maybe with his Sonic Screwdriver.

have you seen the actual figure? Looks no where near as bad in hand, is reasonably ok i think, the monsters should be great

Oh, booboo you found a copy! What do you think?

    • Sam Bentley

      February 17th, 2013 - 12:33am

Not the actual figure, but I mean, I wish the figure was different. The paint job looks fab and has a likeness to Matt, but I don’t like the fact he is in TPO ‘mode’. I feelthat there are much better poses he could have been in.
