The Doctor Who Figurine Collection Magazine Special 1
Doctor Who Figurine Collection magazine Special #1: The Tardis
Every issue comes with a richly illustrated collector’s guide that provides all the essential information about your figurine and is filled with official photography from the BBC Archives.
Each figurine in the collection is sculpted with incredible care and attention to detail. The process begins by collecting exclusive reference material from the Doctor Who archives, which is then sent to the sculptor who produces a 3D digital sculpt.
This incredibly detailed file allows the sculptor to include even the slightest detail down to the wrinkles in Davros’s face or the buttons on the Doctor’s shirt.
Every figurine is in perfect 1:21 scale, with measurements taken from the original props and the BBC’s archives to make sure that the height relationship of all the characters is correct.
This item can be ordered individually from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

December 6th, 2013 - 4:14pmThis arrived today along with the Tenth Doctor and Ice Warrior, they’re fantastic! No Emperor Dalek though due to manufacturing delays.
The Monitor
December 6th, 2013 - 4:19pmSome got it yesterday, some today. I still have not got it and really wanted to know today so I knew whether the specials had been properly registered on my subscription. I was in WHS holding the magazine at 2.30pm, I put it down for 30 seconds and it was gone.

November 16th, 2013 - 3:06pmCan I just ask why everyone is talking about subscriber numbers, I subscribed and got a number and thought nothing of it, still have it on an email though, do you have to enter it somewhere or something?
Anonymous
November 16th, 2013 - 3:09pmYou need it to activate the online archive (if you want to use it).
It’s just a digital copy of the magazine and you’ll get the hard copy anyway so I don’t really see the appeal myself.
Exterminator
November 8th, 2013 - 4:11pmI got an email from forbidden planet today telling me they had the price wrong on the tardis special. Looks like I won’t be getting it for £6.64 after all! 🙁

November 4th, 2013 - 5:52pmThey say on their Facebook page it has been delayed to the 5th of December. However it wouldn’t surprise me if it does come out on the 28th as intended.

November 28th, 2013 - 1:51pmNot seen this anywhere today so might well be delayed. That means we’ll be getting the special and the regular issue next week.

November 4th, 2013 - 1:24pmQ which issues have subscribers received to date (6 or 7)? Also what subscriber gifts?
Assumption – issue 6 due in the shops this week.
Reason for asking – subscribed to the test set (received damaged 2&3 only).
Was assured my subscription was transfered to the national release, had first payment taken (Sept) for issues 6&7. Had to resort to making a ‘back-issue’ payment for issues 2,3,4,5.
So far haven’t received anything, only emails*
Yes, I’ve emailed and phoned them.
*they don’t do ‘letters’ anymore because emails are more efficient

November 4th, 2013 - 1:26pmAlso, had problems trying to activate my subscription through teh official website but keep getting an ‘invalid subscriber number’ message. Got in touch (by email) still waiting on a reply.
anyone else have problems registering/activating their subscription?

November 4th, 2013 - 1:27pm6-7 are due soon but i dont think anyone has had them yet

November 4th, 2013 - 5:47pmI have had figures one to five, one binder and one stand. To be fair they have been spot on with deliveries, although website seems plagued with issues

November 5th, 2013 - 2:20pmBow Tie Wearing Stranger, I know how you feel.
I subscribed back in Feb when the test releases were made and so far have received nothing bar the “yes your account is activated” email. No deliveries as yet. I keep emailing once a fortnight and get the same reply each time. “oh sorry something has gone wrong we’ll get them sent out to you today.”
I’m still waiting for issue 1 🙁

November 5th, 2013 - 3:15pmFor Eaglemoss to be going for so long you would think all this would be plain sailing for them. Even though I’ve had no problems myself (fingers crossed) it’s clear that there are quite a few disappointed people out there who are having payments taken from them but getting zero all in return and as for their website it’s totally hopeless. I wonder are subscribers to their other ranges Star Trek ships, Batmobilia etc having the same type of problems?
booboo
November 5th, 2013 - 3:18pmLuke subscribed to the star trek ships, no problems whatsoever
my problems seem to stem from the test issues, one thing gets sorted but something else goes wrong
KORSAIR
November 5th, 2013 - 3:21pmThis could all just be teething problems and could/should hopefully be sorted out before too long, I really feel it for anyone who’s not getting what they’re due.
Anonymous
November 6th, 2013 - 4:34pmThe problem is they have teething problems on every single one of their magazines and it all seems to lead back to their distributor.

November 3rd, 2013 - 6:48pmthe dalek set what was advertised at the very beginning has that been out yet or or they doing others like this and releasing them in the future
booboo
November 3rd, 2013 - 7:00pmthat’s only available with the subscription upgrade
Anonymous
November 3rd, 2013 - 9:57pmAlso, it isn’t a set. The Daleks are sent out individually, you won’t get them all at once.

November 3rd, 2013 - 10:06pmHow long till we get our first Dalek from subscription anyway ?
Anonymous
November 4th, 2013 - 1:34pmIssue 10 is the first one, then 20, then 30, then the stand with 40, then 50, 60, 70 and finally 80.
Then we’ll need to see what they are doing after that.

November 3rd, 2013 - 9:52amI don’t know if I selected to get these, how can I check? And if I’ve it selected to get these then can they be bought in shops?

November 3rd, 2013 - 10:39amIf you look at your “Welcome Letter” e-mail it will tell you if you have subscribed to the specials.
These can be bought in the shops if you need to though.

November 3rd, 2013 - 5:44pmBooboo I have asked on Facebook about this as it seems only a select few (not me) received the “first newsletter” which details the tardis special. I am not aware of anther newsletter with a issue 6/7 preview.

November 3rd, 2013 - 6:04pmlet me know what they say

November 4th, 2013 - 1:16pmReceive a ‘first newsletter’ over the weekend. Quoting the next issues as being 6 & 7.
emails / subscription all seem very erratic.
NB anyone else (subscribers) having problems activiating their subscription through the official website? I keep getting an ‘invalid subscription number’ message very time I’ve tried (using either my ‘national release’subscription number and the previous ‘test’ release one).
contacted dbfactory – still no response.

November 6th, 2013 - 7:39pmMy subscriber number was fine, of course the website itself is a mess, it keeps randomly logging the account off every time you try to leave an issue.

November 2nd, 2013 - 3:54pmhow long will it be in the shops?

November 2nd, 2013 - 4:10pmUntil it sells out probably.
Trenzalore
November 2nd, 2013 - 10:30pm2 weeks I think
Anonymous
November 2nd, 2013 - 10:44pmTrenzalore, this is not a regular issue. These tend to sit out until they sell out or until the next one comes out (which will be about ten weeks after this not two) so it will be long gone by then/
Cara light
November 2nd, 2013 - 1:21pmI’ve done the subscription so I get it via my door and some discount of it looking forward
james
November 2nd, 2013 - 11:56amwhy so expensive!!!
Anonymous
November 2nd, 2013 - 12:03pmBecause it is considerably larger than the rest of the figures (and so a lot more metallic resin is needed to make it).
Cpl Hicks
November 2nd, 2013 - 12:20pm…and why is only £6.84 on Forbidden Planet????
Anonymous
November 2nd, 2013 - 12:51pmBecause they’ve put the wrong price up, they charge that price for all the regular issues so I’d presume you’ll find the price suddenly changes nearer to release.
The Living Shadow
November 2nd, 2013 - 10:57amIs it completely solid or hollow?
booboo
November 2nd, 2013 - 11:07amno idea on that one
The Living Shadow
November 2nd, 2013 - 11:12amAh, sorry my questions are always too specific!
Anonymous
November 2nd, 2013 - 11:16amAll they’ve said is it is made of a heavyweight metallic resin and its in scale which doesn’t really help.
jamiewho
November 4th, 2013 - 3:51pmIt prob solid or else it would be weightless and the seme as a usual as the mass would be the same

September 29th, 2013 - 8:03pmInteresting about the couple of companions that haven’t been approved yet. Hopefully more than just Vastra and the Oswin Dalek.
moz
October 8th, 2013 - 12:29pmwill this be in newsagents as a stand alone issue, has i subscribed via newsagent for main series will this be included.
Anonymous
October 8th, 2013 - 1:14pmYes, this will be a standalone issue separate from the main range. If you have “subscribed” through your newsagents make sure you tell them it is coming out and they should be able to get you a copy (which will cost £15.99, direct subscribers will get a discount, probably only a pound less though).

September 29th, 2013 - 7:39pmA Q and A session with the editor was conducted with this forum with new and good detailed information on there plans.

cjayp33
September 30th, 2013 - 6:05pmLook forward to seeing the replies, when they come and if they differ. I hope one of them was about the possibility of doing spaceships/stations, vehicles in this collection? or if not a possible idea for a future Doctor Who Collection, as that forum did not ask/mention about this, and I know this suggestion is popular with a number of people.
Anonymous
September 30th, 2013 - 6:40pmI get a feeling their response will just be a “nothing planned at the moment”. Hopefully they might give us a hint if it is a possible addition in future though (like the companions are).

This site has done a Q and A with the editor and reveals lots of new details. I hope that when he says we are concentrating on new who he means up to issue 80 only as I would hate to have a load of non essential new who characters and monsters at the expense of better classic series stuff.
