September 5th, 2022 - 2:49pmPerhaps with their interminable skill as regurgiators of old stock, they could repaint the girl as the Vixen and shave the youth’s head and turn him into the Dark Destroyer and sell it as a Doctor Who / Chase crossover set 😀

September 5th, 2022 - 2:15pmTempts me to just sleep in and stay in bed a little longer when they have a next “very special product offer”.

September 5th, 2022 - 1:59pmJust goes to show that rereleasing the exact same figures with minor variants doesn’t get you any sales if you’ve got to flog these off for half price

September 5th, 2022 - 2:06pmFor B&M, for the most part they more than likely did, these are clearly again unsold USA sets where there appears to be very little market now and they have to shift them some how.
Bob James
September 5th, 2022 - 2:25pmbooboo, it’s not so much a case of “very little market now” in the States, as a very specific niche market. There is interest enough in an ongoing release of Classic Who characters (Doctors/Tardis’s and companions) within a specific fan/collector base. CO (and the BBC) just can’t get it through their heads that a VERY limited or non-existent base has no interest in anything from this last era. Or to be fairer perhaps, whoever was watching this last outgoing era apparently weren’t/aren’t collecting this sort or merchandise. So much wasted funding and plastic that could have been better suited to releases that enough parties would actually purchase. Hopefully the new incoming era ignites the collector’s market again all around.
booboo
September 5th, 2022 - 2:39pmThat niche market seems no where big enough for anything, with Funko, Titans etc all falling by the way at least for now. I notice no second geeki tiki wave either at SDCC.
The USA market for the figurines was small as well. With everything costing more to produce and a lesser market all round i dont any company taking risks at the moment.

September 5th, 2022 - 1:19pmI can’t believe that such popular figures are being offered this cheaply.
Auton
September 5th, 2022 - 1:13pmAlmost as underwhelming of an announcement as the new PM

September 5th, 2022 - 1:07pm“Product offer” was always going to be something like this, I was thinking it would be a reduction on the remaining Silurians myself, but this makes sense too. Really trying to get rid of unsold stock but I reckon they’ll have plenty again when the 10th Doctor set sits around.
I still have some hope for the future of CO with the occasional online exclusive, but the trend over the past couple years is worrying for the continuation of the B&M 3-pack range going forward (the Dalek sets will be fine though I reckon).

September 5th, 2022 - 1:01pmI was really hoping for 6x Tenth Doctors as well…

September 5th, 2022 - 12:45pmThis deal is up right now btw for anyone that does want to get it…. just bought mine now. Although I’m disappointed massively, I don’t have either of the sets (though I never particularly wanted either of them tbh) so figured I might as well for a tenner lmao.

September 5th, 2022 - 12:41pmLOL – they’ll be lucky to even give the companions of the 13th Doctor set away! Surprised at the Baker set though – was this overproduced?

September 5th, 2022 - 12:43pmmore than likely stock that was destined for the USA at one time

September 5th, 2022 - 12:33pmWith my own jokes aside, I’m actually considering this, as I don’t own a Benton figure. Got all the 13 set, no interest in the 4th Doctor and other man though

September 5th, 2022 - 12:36pm£5 postage brings them down to £2.50 each set so approx 85p a figure
Doctor Mysterio
September 5th, 2022 - 1:01pmIt is free postage.
John
September 5th, 2022 - 1:30pmMysterious, no such thing as free postage. Someone pays , in this case CO so Dave is correct assuming £5 postage that leaves £2.50 per set.
Tim M
September 5th, 2022 - 12:22pmThis really didn’t need any build up. Should have just been announced when the offer went straight online. Very underwhelming.
Anthony Fgan
September 5th, 2022 - 12:18pma full weekend of hype and anticipation all for nothing. As a business CO certainly know how to alienate its customer/fanbase…

September 5th, 2022 - 12:15pmIt’s not April 1st is it? What a joke! You could buy the Friends of the Thirteenth Doctor set for £3.00 a few months ago with mountains of stock left

Pros: Good for those that didn’t manage to get them first time round
Cons: If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is
Obviously an overstock of these figures, which they may end up doing in the future for the newest 8th and 10th Doctor figure sets

September 5th, 2022 - 12:11pmHuge disappointment
A
September 5th, 2022 - 12:10pmHonestly, I think this is a pretty good deal. I’m sure many will have these sets already if they wanted them but £10 is a good deal for all 6. I do think it’s a little odd that it was deemed a very special product offer by Character, surely knowing that this would get people speculating about a new set. It’s hard to feel disappointed about this stuff as it is only action figures at the end of the day, but perhaps it would have been wise to just present the offer as it is.
