Should The Dr Who Figurine Collection Include “Vehicles”?
Should The Doctor Who Figurine Collection Include Vehicles?
The official facebook page is now live.
With the imminent arrival of the Doctor Who figurine collection many people have asked about the viability of a Doctor Who “vehicles”.
There are probably not enough to warrant a collection on its own so would you like any included here.
They obviously would not be in scale with the figures or probably with each other but would the likes of Bessie and the Whomobile appeal as part of the line -up?
Some Items that spring to mind are…
- The Tardis
- Bessie
- The Whomobile
- Jagaroth spaceship

August 8th, 2013 - 9:58amat least Bessie and the tardis
dalek 105
August 8th, 2013 - 2:10pmi think they should do a sontaron ship
Mr Clever
August 8th, 2013 - 9:30amwhy are we worrying about vechiles although Bessie would be awesoe and the whomobile (both types of Bessie WHO1 and WHO7) we need a Peter Capaldi 5″ figure
booboo
August 8th, 2013 - 10:16amA 5 inch figure is nothing to do with this range so it’s not even appropriate to bring it up here
Mister
August 8th, 2013 - 8:35amIt’s a good idea, but I would rather things like Bessie in the 5″ scale.
josh smith
August 8th, 2013 - 7:55amat lest
Bessie
The Whomobile
we already have the TARDIS
Scott the Raptor
August 8th, 2013 - 9:22amWe don’t have the TARDIS!
Rose
August 8th, 2013 - 5:49amI think they should make Sarah Jane’s car Sarah Jane adventures.
Clayderman
August 8th, 2013 - 9:46amVERY GOOD IDEA! OMGOMGOMG, Why didn’t I think of that! 😀 BTW, I think CO could make a 3.75″ version of the companions set…
Rose
August 8th, 2013 - 7:36pmReally? That is awesome.
MaxP
August 8th, 2013 - 12:45amI’d say a Tardis and Bessie would be mandatory for this collection, at the very least!
Doctor Stu
August 7th, 2013 - 11:21pmMaybe the TARDIS, or a sontaran ship
WeAreTheSilence
August 7th, 2013 - 10:28pmI would say just the TARDIS :]
Son of Skaro
August 7th, 2013 - 9:47pmI think that would be something better suited to a separate publication as this magazine covers figurines.
booboo
August 7th, 2013 - 9:50pmappreciate that, but assuming such a publication was not viable i would love to see and Tardis, Bessie and Whomobile at least added to this range, possibly as optional specials
Son of Skaro
August 7th, 2013 - 10:22pmIt would work well as specials. I used to collect the harlequin miniatures. They released figurines at a 28mm scale and included vehicles, like the Whomobile and Bessie.. They pretty much covered the entire classic series. It made for an impressive display. They’re worth a small fortune now.
cjayp33
August 7th, 2013 - 9:40pmYes, but I don’t think they will in this collection. But there is scope for a new collection after thus, conisting of models of vehicles, spaceships and pieces of technology e.g fob watch, silurian heat ray Gyu, sontaran swagger stick etc. If they did all three types then there is more then enough to warrant a collection.
ShalkaDoctor
August 7th, 2013 - 9:22pmIs there any chance that these figurines would be coming to the USA?
booboo
August 7th, 2013 - 9:28pmthey are trying to organise something i gather
there are bound to be site where you can get the magazine from (FP are selling them) but that wont work for the subs gifts and extras
ShalkaDoctor
August 7th, 2013 - 9:31pmI would love to have that Emperor Dalek in my collection. Fingers crossed they make the extras available to us in the USA. I would certainly subscribe.
Rose
August 8th, 2013 - 5:47amI know i really want to subscribe but its not available to the us.
The Professor
August 7th, 2013 - 9:20pmI don’t think it’s a good idea, and its not as if you can put the figures inside the vehicles!
The Professor
August 7th, 2013 - 9:35pmPlus it would make it too much like any old Dr Who figures.
CONNORTHEDOCTOR
August 7th, 2013 - 9:18pmI’d rather more 3.75 vehicles.
Twelfth Cyber Legion
August 7th, 2013 - 9:11pmCompletely of subject but I’ve just realised we’ve got times on our comments
TheWhomobile
August 7th, 2013 - 9:01pmI am the Whomobile and I say yes! 😆
Whovian
August 7th, 2013 - 8:42pmNONE – It would be much better to just have a lot of aliens and people (and time lords OK) , vehicles would just lookout of their place, they would stick out.
Anonymous
August 7th, 2013 - 8:55pmBut would the TARDIS be a vehicle or an alien? Technically it’s both.
Anonymous
August 7th, 2013 - 8:34pmOut of interest could somebody who is on Facebook kindly ask them what happens to premium subscribers beyond issue 80 if it is extended?
I know I’m not the only one wondering if we’ll get more figures after the 7 Daleks and the stand or if the price will go back to £7, because I’m not wanting to invest my money if they’ll just rip us off after a few years.
I don’t need specifics on what they’d continue it with, just if it is continued or if it goes to a regular sub (or if they stretch it out over more issues). Any help would be appreciated.
booboo
August 7th, 2013 - 8:57pmi have just asked them for you, like you say quite a few other have mentioned it
Anonymous
August 7th, 2013 - 9:00pmCheers for that. Hopefully they’ll answer, the last thing you want is to invest in it for three years and discover they have extended it and the only way to get the last Dalek is to give them another £1 each fortnight for another three years.
booboo
August 7th, 2013 - 9:04pmthey seem quite keen to communicate and keep people informed via facebook
cjayp33
August 7th, 2013 - 9:37pmwhat I think will happen, which I do not want to happen is that if they do decide to extend the collection, they will likely hold back on the last few Daleks/stand and give them away in the extension issues thus forcing us to pay the extra pound for these issues. I can’t seem them doing premium price for 80 issues and then regular price after 80 issues.
booboo
August 7th, 2013 - 9:44pmso we basically want as assurance that all 7 Daleks and the stand will be supplied within the 80 issues
DOCTOR WHO ONE
August 7th, 2013 - 8:29pmThey could do all the Dalek Ships and Cyberships we’ve seen over the last 50 years 😉
Sam Bentley
August 7th, 2013 - 8:13pmThey will probably do the TARDIS, and maybe Bessie, as those could be to scale! But the rest? Nah.
booboo
August 7th, 2013 - 8:14pmNot a whomobile?
Anonymous
August 7th, 2013 - 8:27pmThey are doing an Emperor Dalek out of scale, and they mentioned the Beast on a questionnaire about potential specials.
I get the feeling some of the specials may deviate from the scale.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
August 7th, 2013 - 8:28pmWhomobile really isin’t a fan favorite really is it.
I’m not a fan of that car myself, I’ve always prefered Bessie.
Also, what’s with the date and time appearing now on our comments ?.
When I first noticed it, I thought someone was writing the date an time on purpose for some odd reason, until I Started scrolling down and noticed it on ever comment.
booboo
August 7th, 2013 - 9:00pmdate and time is part of some changes we are making to comments like splitting into pages
Anonymous
August 7th, 2013 - 8:07pmI reckon the TARDIS, Bessie and the Whomobile could all be made in the scale, but really there wouldn’t be a need in the collection for the bigger spaceships.
However, as I have mentioned elsewhere with the Marvel Figurine Collection they did some bigger figures out of scale (although still bigger than the others) called the “Mega Specials”. This meant they could include some of the bigger characters without breaking the bank. The subscriber Dalek Emperor seems to follow this procedure, being at 1:42 rather than 1:21.
Ooooooooh its an Adipose
August 7th, 2013 - 8:06pmWell they have said that they will do ‘special’ issues so maybe 😀
The Monitor
August 7th, 2013 - 7:52pmI am undecided on this one. Very few of you would have collected the Harlequin Minature range. When they added to the range with vehicles and monsters to scale, it became very expensive. The T Rex figure cost £50 all those years ago and is very heavy.
timelord22
August 7th, 2013 - 7:49pmMaybe only rarely…like the TARDIS exterior and Bessie only. I think vehicles could be a separate collection tbh.
Desamo
August 7th, 2013 - 7:38pmWOW 80 figures planned I hope they make Yeti, Anthony Master and every versions of Davros.
Vehicles make them too.
paul wilcox
August 7th, 2013 - 7:37pmOnly if they are to scale.. And Character should bring out Bessie for the 5 inchers
booboo
August 7th, 2013 - 7:39pmthat where the downfall may be, many could never be in scale with the figures they would be just to big
tom tom
August 7th, 2013 - 7:28pmBOOBOO do you think they will ?
and anyone else’s
booboo
August 7th, 2013 - 7:30pmi dont think anyone else will, i can actually see this may be the only way it could happen
tom tom
August 7th, 2013 - 7:33pmoh thanks what do over people think
Simon
August 7th, 2013 - 7:25pmBring on Bessie for sure and the whomobile yes
Ray
August 7th, 2013 - 7:24pmDefinite yes as long as it was sensible, it might the only way we get anything like this
Sea Devil
August 7th, 2013 - 7:23pmHadn’t really though about it but sounds very appealing actually.
A Jagaroth spaceship would be amazing and would some of the others
the astronaut of death
August 7th, 2013 - 7:21pmyes yes yes yes!
