Series 10, Peter Capaldi’s final series as the Doctor, will be available to buy in two parts on DVD and Blu-ray, as well as a complete version releasing later this year. Both Parts 1 and 2 are now available for pre-order from Amazon, iTunes and HMV.

Released on the 29th May, Part 1 will cover episodes 1-6 of the Doctor’s latest adventures. The Doctor is keen to show his new friend, Bill Potts, the wonders of the universe, but loveable android Nardole reminds him of an oath he has taken to guard the contents of a mysterious vault.

Part 2, released on 17th July, features episodes 7-12 in which the Doctor’s travels bring him face-to-face with Ice Warriors and Cybermen. His adventures draw to a terrifying conclusion as a long lost face from the past returns.

Both Parts will also include six, exclusive art-cards, which are themed to each episode.

Bonus material for both Parts 1 and 2 will include an ‘Inside Look’ feature for each of the twelve episodes. The episodic features will include behind the scenes footage; cast interviews and the inside story.

Full details of bonus material for the Complete Series DVD & BD will be announced in due course and will include the Binaural Sound edition of episode 4, ‘Knock, Knock’. Binaural Sound gives an immersive spatial sound experience for headphone listeners.

I like the covers but will probably wait for the complete box set. However, can someone explain to me about the art cards? Will they be exclusive to a certain store (Amazon / HMV etc) or limited edition (first 500 to be ordered etc)? Or will they be available any time I buy parts 1 & 2 as I’m really fond of the designs. Thanks – The Gallifreyan Whovian

Agreed. Hope the boxset features something similar, Series 9 was disappointing.

The description mentions “His adventures draw to a terrifying conclusion as a long lost face from the past returns”, i have read a rumour about who could be returning (no spoilers) and im not talking about John Simm’s Master but maybe the description is talking about John Simm’s Master

Say if this is one of them.
      9
      1
      Susan
      River
      Clara
      Rassalon
      Missy
      The master.
Just say yes or no if its inthe list.

I know who is in the vault its (MEGA ULTRA BIG SPOILERS!!!!!!!) John Cena. 😛

All joking aside, I’m 99.999999% sure that its not the 9th Doctor. The 1st Doctor is also unlikely, so it’s either:
Missy (which is the most likely due to the vault being opened in episode 6)
      The Master
      Clara (Pls no tho).

Series has been electric so far. The tone is absolutely perfect for Doctor Who for me. Pearl Mackie is absolutely wonderful, and so is Matt Lucas, and Peter Capaldi of course

Covers look cool, it’s strange people have been reviewing them before any of the episodes on part 2 have even aired

Why is Part 2 on blu ray £10 more expensive than Part 1?

TV Production is expensive. Two separate release’s & a final full-set make’s money to cover costs. What concern’s me here is if these details are correct? (ie) “as well as a complete version releasing later this year” by complete do they mean BOTH Christmas Specials or what? As they like to release the Christmas Special as a separate release then add later to the box set I’m wondering how that can be? To me it would make sense to have the Christmas Special 2016 on here, Season 10 & then finish with the Christmas Special 2017 with the final Capaldi episode.

Probably because they’re holding back on the complete series until after Christmas to include the Christmas special, so they’re giving people the chance to own the Series now rather than waiting at least 6 months.

True, makes sense to include Capaldi’s last episode with the preceding series, not the next one

I wouldn’t mind them not releasing the complete box set until after Christmas to be honest, I think it would be worth the wait to have the Christmas special in there!

    Long lost face? Hmmmm…

Anyway, this artwork looks really cool. One’s light and the other Dark and they both fit together to form a whole.

Could this be reference to Susan Foreman given the fact The Doctor looks at the photograph on his desk in “The Pilot”. She would also be considered as long lost as she has not been seen since 1964. Would be interesting for her to reappear as a character…

She met the Eighth Doctor with her Son 🙂

    • The Outcast

      May 5th, 2017 - 3:56pm

Its not. It’s probably referring to you know who from the series trailer at the end of the pilot, but it could also be referring to the rumoured returning character.
