Robert Harrop Kraal Styggron From The Android Invasion

Available to order while stocks last from www.robertharrop.com

“That small phial contains a death sentence for the entire human race”

The Doctor finds his way to the nearby UNIT Space Defence Station where he meets Senior Defence Astronaut Guy Crayford. It is revealed that Crayford is working for Styggron, the Chief Scientist for an alien race called the Kraal. They are not on Earth, but in a simulated village on the planet Oseidon, a training ground for an attack on Earth. Styggron has perfected a lethal virus and plans to use human replica androids to disseminate it around the World, paving the way for a Kraal invasion fleet.

The TARDIS materialises just outside a sleepy English village in what the Doctor believes to be present day Earth. However, all is not as it seems, as the surrounding countryside is patrolled by boiler-suited figures with guns in their fingers and the village itself appears deserted. The Doctor and Sarah flee to a pub where a truck arrives carrying the villagers, all in trances. The villagers distribute themselves around the village, waiting motionlessly until a clock strikes, whereupon they suddenly come to life.

Loving the Styggers figurine / sculpt. A real piece of artwork. Well done Robert Harrop, and thank you, you have produced this character so well. The detail and application of colour is fantastic. Please can we have a Mr Sin. You would do wonders with this character!

I’m looking at the ones on Ebay, the paintwork is really crude compared with Robert Harrop photos, heavy handed brush strokes. Robert Harrop marketing photos looked far more sensitive to detail. Do the figurines look like the ones on eBay? Because I’m going to be disappointed if they do…

Thanks to some sales on Ebay was able to order Styggron this morning. Looks like a really good sculpt, nicely painted too and looking forward to seeing it in hand. I’m always pleased to get a Tom Baker era alien!

I’m hoping with their extended license they might do some characters not done before either by Character or the late lamented Eaglemoss. I’d love to see the Collector or even a Taran Wood Beast, which I think in Harrops unique style could look great. If it can feature in a Big Finish trailer anything is possible!

I know EM did it but I’d love a series 4 era red style Emperor Dalek. In fact I’m surprised we’ve only had two so far from Harrops. I’d also take any Cyberman on any day as I think they’re just such a genius idea for a villain. As the world has evolved the concept of the Cybermen has not only become scarier but also much more relatable, in that we already see that type of technology in use now to varying degrees.

Yeah the Red Dalek would look very cool, I’d just personally prefer more obscure characters that haven’t been done before. The Harrops Daleks are really solid maybe the amount of materials needed is an issue?

Yes I agree the Cybermen have become more relevant and the fact Kit Pedlar originally meant them as a warning might need revisiting. Personally I’d prefer the Cybermen to look less robotic (perhaps even more like the Borg) and one of the real successes of recent episodes was Ashad I thought.

Re-watched this episode the other day to re-jog the memory. He sounds like a Sontaran from the new series, but similar prosthetics to the classic sontarans!
I like him all the same so purchased one.
I’m aiming to get at least 1 model from each Doctors Era
So far I’ve got the Special Weapons Dalek, Quark and Vervoid.

Do we know what’s on the way next?

They haven’t said but they just renewed their 2 years licence so maybe they were waiting for that before moving to the next one

Worst kept secret, if you look around but yes we do know now. Harrops might just change their mind though.

Had a brows around…if what I’m reading is true, then I’m all for it!
And, I know a lot of people aren’t too fond of the human face sculpts, but I really would like a 6th Dr in this range. They would do the the colours on his coat justice I’m sure with their style.
