So does that mean there’s more target books coming?

YES I WOULD REALLY LIKE ‘REVELATION OF THE DALEKS’ AS A PROPER BOOK. BUT IF IT ONLY COMES OUT AS AN AUDIO I WILL STILL GET. THE SAME AS THE 5TH DR DALEK STORY ONLY BECAUSE THESE WOULD BE QUITE SORT AFTER AS THEY HAVE BOTH NOT BEEN AVAILABLE AS EITHER FOR A VERY LONG TIME….HERE’S HOPING…

They’ve never been available. The only versions are unofficial releases. This is a new version.

Ok, I want this as a book. I’ll preorder it as a book as soon as I can. However I’ve never understood the praise saward gets for his two dalek stories. They aren’t that good. Poor acting, dreadful stories and virtually all the characters are despicable. Don’t forget that the characters the doctor tells to grow flowers at the end of revelation were torturing people earlier in the story! As for new target if this is part of a new set, here goes
    End of the world
    Impossible planet/satan pit
    Cold war
    Magician’s apprentice/witch’s familiar

Seeing as the CD is listed at £33.50 rather than £20 like the Target audios, I’m thinking this will be a full length novel like the Douglas Adams works instead. Still, surely a new Target collection can’t be far off? 5 New Series stories (one for each Doctor), and a Pirate Planet slimline re-release?

Remember back when the show had episodes like this? It’s easily one of the darkest tales the show has ever told. Even Tegan and the Doctor cracked under the pressure, and the body count is gruesomely high.
Here’s the question: are we going to have actual adventures with real stakes (like this one) next season, or are we going to get more touchy-feely misunderstood animals and space racists with no discernible motives? I don’t think the cast is anywhere near strong enough to carry the show on their own (even greats like Sylvester McCoy, David Tennant, Matt Smith, and Peter Capaldi couldn’t save their worst stories).

Never liked this story, its nonsense. Convoluted and silly. So many coincidences. Saward not a great writer

The biggest silly bit is the doctor being sent back to gallifrey as a duplicate. It feels tacked on as an afterthought. The daleks didn’t plan to capture the doctor he’s caught in the time corridor by accident. And then the daleks somehow manage to make duplicates of tegan and turlough. How? Tegan is on earth then transferred up to the ship but is never alone with the daleks to be duplicated and turlough is never captured by the daleks! Rubbish

I never said it was the best story ever. However, I do think the Daleks returning for Davros and creating escalating carnage is no sillier than a talking frog or a killer adipose toad that eats everything. And let’s not forget Krasko, one of, if not the, most idiotic villains anyone who wrote the show has ever come up with. How did Whittaker survive a several thousand foot drop? You can still be killed during a regeneration, at least according to The Impossible Astronaut. How come the Pting eats everything but conveniently spits out her sonic? Why is another universe looking for a friend? Why does the TARDIS just wander off to another planet after 12 regenerates? Does it hate the idea of a female Doctor? Does that make it sexist? Why is it better to trap a bunch of dying animals in a room and let them suffocate in excruciating pain rather than put them out of their misery with a gun? How does a man get pregnant? I could go on, but it’s not worth it. I have seen people tear the logic of this series to shreds, and these questions are just a sampling of the fallacies people have found in this series. I’m not wild about Eric Saward’s script editing work and the problems he caused, but I enjoyed all of the stories he penned, and as far as I’m concerned, they have way better plots than anything from Chibnall’s regime.

Ok final word. How does a man get pregnant? Biology. He’s an alien and in his race both sexes are capable of becoming pregnant. Why does a universe want a friend? Because it’s lonely. Look the fact is it’s called science fiction. Remember the fiction bit? Terry nation said it best.
“If you write a story and in your story the rocks on a planet talk no one can say but rocks don’t talk. Because on your planet the rocks can talk”
It’s just fiction. But here’s something that makes me laugh about someone holding up the davison era as an example of why new who is poor, I remember the complaints about the Davison era. Yes, 34 years ago fans were complaining about scripts, sets, costumes, special effects and acting. All levelled at the 5th then the 6th then the 7th and on and on. Of course the same happened when troughton took over, then the 3rd and 4th doctors. Fans complain. It’s what some of them do best. Personally I’m not keen on resurrection of the daleks, I’ll still eagerly hope that a physical book comes out though. I’ll still pre-order that book as soon as I can. And I’ll still watch the original story every now and then as I will happily watch Jodie’s stories. It’s all who to me and I’m a fan who enjoys it regardless of whether it’s a favourite or one I’m not keen on.

Mind I can’t see the logic of not putting a print version out
