Remembrance of the Daleks Set – Pictures

Remembrance of the Daleks 1988 Set

Due February 2012 priced £29.99

The TARDIS arrives in London in November 1963, where the Seventh Doctor and Ace discover that two rival factions of Daleks – one loyal to the Dalek Emperor and one to the Dalek Supreme – are seeking the Hand of Omega, a powerful Time Lord device that the first Doctor hid there during an earlier sojourn on Earth.

The Daleks are focusing their search around Coal Hill School – the school that the Doctor’s grand-daughter Susan attended – while a human military unit led by Group Captain Gilmore is attempting to resist their incursions.

The Imperial Daleks eventually capture the device.

The Dalek Emperor is revealed to be Davros, now with only the last vestiges of his humanoid form remaining. The Doctor begs him not to use the Hand but is ignored.

However, this is just the final ruse in a complex trap laid by the Doctor. The Hand of Omega utterly destroys the Dalek home planet, Skaro, and then returns to destroy their forces orbiting Earth.

The set looks great, but is ultimately let down by the fact aht Davros head is all wrong.

The eye is not meant to be the same as other stories, and there was no red-wiring to Davros’ eye in this story either !

Other than that, it does make a great figure. A shame they got Davros the same head sculpt as before, (not getting it now). 🙁

Same I so wanted this with Ace but I am just glad they are releasing davros all we need now is the hand of Omega,Ace and maybe the little girl (forgot her name or what she is for) then we will have all the important figures from Remembrance of the Daleks (My first and favourite classic who adventure)

      January 24th, 2012 - 6:51pm

Yeah, your right, well about Ace, definitely.

    • Towel-ban (ON).

      January 30th, 2012 - 2:10pm

I would prefer an Ace from a different story, such as Survival or Greatest Show in the Galaxy.

I didn’t like her hair-style and overall appearance-style in Remembrance of the Daleks,

because in Survival she was WAY better looking and a figure of Ace from that story would really do the charactre justice. 😉

      January 30th, 2012 - 2:13pm

Revelation of the Daleks ! The Daleks in that set are better, and you get an excellent Davros figure, the best on yet.

The Sixth Doctor figure is allright, apart from the innaccurate waistcoat (up to his neck ?!) and the paint colours of the upper-lapels (brown, purple and yellow ? The patchwork is mostly green bleu and turquoise in real life darn it !! ❗ ). 🙂

Its is actually the axon that is the imposter, The Krynoid was made to be a build a figure with classic wave 2 but abandoned so they used the mould for the axon as far as i can see there may be some very minor variations in the way the tentacles look but essentially it looks identical

Too be honest the BBC did the same thing with the actual monster prop/costume….they made a few tweeks to the old Krynoid prop and after a respay you had an Axon….so we can not really blame CO for doing the same 🙂
