Celebrating a Half Century of Adventures
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, science fiction’s longest running TV show, with this exclusive art print of the TARDIS against a pale moon on a glorious night.
It was in 1963 when the British television series about a time-traveling humanoid alien, known as the Doctor, first aired. For decades we’ve tagged along with this Time Lord, as he travels through time and space in his TARDIS, a sentient machine that looks remarkably like a blue police box.
To celebrate the show’s golden anniversary, we developed this classic, understated tribute with graphic designer Jeff Halsey, who also designed our Firefly 10th Anniversary lithograph.
The TARDIS sits, door ajar with light leaking out, against a midnight-blue sky beneath the halo of the moon. Yes, it really is bigger on the inside. Below, we quote The Doctor, who waxes philosophical about the balance of good and bad in life.
Our Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Celebration art print is the same size as a movie one-sheet — measuring 27″ w x 40″ h — and is printed on 100-pound, satin-finish paper.
Join in the series’ year-long birthday celebration and cheer on our favorite Time Lord for just $19.95. And if you’re looking where to buy, we recommend www.thinkgeek.com authorized QMx reseller and our exclusive launch partner for this awesome print!
The TARDIS
February 2nd, 2013 - 4:11pmThis looks brilliant! Definitely want to buy it, although I can’t help thinking it might be better with the second Doctor’s “there are some corners of the universe” speech would suit it more. Or “Have you ever thought what it’s like to be wanderers in the fourth dimension.”, or one of the third Doctors many wise words about “tiny patches of sludgy snow” and “courage isn’t a matter of not being afraid”… The Doctor has made so many great speeches that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end it must have been very difficult to choose.
