Character Options shares details of new B&M Stores Doctor Who line-up
Following confirmation in June of a new series of exclusive Doctor Who toys for local B&M Stores in the UK (UK variety retailer), Character Options is delighted to reveal to fans the entire collection.
The collection was unveiled on Character Options’ own YouTubechannel on 30/07/2019 via an unboxing-style video presented by the firm’s Creative Director Al Dewar. In the video viewers were treated to a detailed review of the range which consists of three figures sets featuring Daleks and the awesome TARDIS.
The Seventh Doctor Collector Figure Set is a three articulated figure set Including The Doctor wearing his cream jacket, jumper and ubiquitous plaid trousers. His duo ofvillains include the Cyberman and Cyberleadereach with Cybergun accessories.
The Two Doctors Collector Figure set is from the episode entitled the Two Doctors and includes Second Doctor as Androgum as played by Patrick Troughton, the companion and American college student Perpugilliam (Peri) Brown and the villain of the episode, the Sontaran, Group Marshal Stike.
The Sontarans Collector Figure Set also features this fearful enemy and includes Lieutenant Harry Sullivan – one of the companions of the Fourth Doctor, plus two Sontarans – Field Major Styre, and Commander Lynx. Accessoriesinclude Sontaran helmets and blasters.
The TARDIS is a much loved piece in every Doctor Who collection and this latest launch includes two sets to collect that feature this essential Time Travelling Machine with opening doors
The Fifth Doctor and TARDIS from Caves of Androzani–Produced in 5.5 inch scale and has the Fifth Doctor played by Peter Davison and the somewhat travel weary police box TARDIS that has returned from the Caves of Androzani as in the 6th episode in Season 21 where the Doctor willingly undergoes a regeneration to save his companion!
The Fourth Doctor and TARDIS from Shada Collector Figure Set –is as seen in the final, long delayed, episode of Series 17. Shada is the secret Time Lord’s Prison and it is with much trepidation that the Doctor, as played by Tom Baker, must make a visit.
Three Doctor and Dalek sets have also been created inspired by popular Big Finishaudio episodes including:
The Eighth Doctor and Dalek Interrogator Prime Action Figure Set –showsthe fully articulated Doctor dressed in jeans and double breasted jacket and the Dalek Interrogator he faces when captured in the episode.
The War Doctor and Dalek Scientist Action Figure Set –has the Doctor as played by John Hurt in the War Doctor Audio episodes, the Dalek included is a scientist and works independently of High Command.
The Seventh Doctor and Axis Strike Squad Dalek Action Figure Set –features the Time Lord as played by Sylvester McCoy in the Gallifrey VI Series. He must help regain Gallifrey and defeat the bronzed Daleks that have taken over the AXIS.
Al Dewar, commented: “It was huge fun to reveal by video the entire new collection. We are incredibly proud of this summer 2019 line up and believe that the fans will be equally delighted with each product that are to be launched. Our loyal following of collectors are always keen to gain a first glimpse of what’s new and doing this in such a personal style was important to us. The next stage is to see the range in store!”
Sets will be available in B&M stores from Late August

July 30th, 2019 - 6:35pmLets hope next year they can knock out a ‘Wheel In Space’ set with a couple of Wheel Cybermen and the Servo robot and maybe even a wheel cybermat.

July 30th, 2019 - 5:56pmI think there’s not one set I don’t like. I just wish B&M had a website so, I could buy them off instead of having to go through eBay.

July 30th, 2019 - 5:06pmI’d love another 1st Doctor and Tardis set, maybe with an updated roof…wouldn’t be too difficult to alter the mould for that.

July 30th, 2019 - 4:54pmBoohoo – when you get time to catch your breath, will you be able to identity what the variances are of each figure/dalek/Tardis. Some are obvious such as the 8th Doctor, Harry S and the 5th Doc Tardis but others not so esp the Daleks and 4th doc Tardis.
It would be much appreciated.

July 30th, 2019 - 4:58pmHUH? Each set has it’s own descriptive article in this site.
booboo
July 30th, 2019 - 5:05pmi think he means between previously released figures like the sontarans cybrmen etc that will take me a while though

July 30th, 2019 - 5:11pmYes, that’s what I mean. For example, the 4th Doctor looks like the release from the City of Death set, but it maybe that it has some variance such as boots. I know you are usually quite good at flagging those things on behalf of the collectors, but due to the volume of releases I appreciate it will be some time before you are able to do that.

July 30th, 2019 - 4:34pmHi. When will the first of the 8 be released?

prototype dalek

prototype dalek
July 30th, 2019 - 4:22pmI’ll certainly look forward to getting all 8 sets.
At least with what booboo stated that there will be 1000’s of these sets, which means hopfullt they will be distributed around more like the 4th doctor set we had earlier in the year meaning everyone who wants one will get one.
ThePOW70
July 30th, 2019 - 4:10pmI want them all! I thought the 2 Doctors set might have included a 6th Doctor in waistcoat so I was really surprised and pleased to see a new Sontaran sculpt instead. And when he revealed Harry I was blown away. If these sets do well then we may see more new sculpts next year. I wonder if we might get a War Master figure using the Professor Yana head sculpt in the future?

July 30th, 2019 - 3:47pmPresuming the Sonic Screwdrivers that were mentioned are just re-releases if they’ve not been shown?

July 30th, 2019 - 3:45pmIts a bit of a shame that the video didn’t mention a release date for the figures

July 30th, 2019 - 3:43pmGreat presentation!
All Harry needs now is a classic Sarah-Jane in that Sontaran Experiment/Genesis/Revenge outfit… next year hopefully…?!
(Her Planet of Evil/Seeds of Doom/Pyramids of Mars outfits would also all be amazing, but they should keep the Andy Pandy Hand of Fear til last, ha-ha – it’s so over-used 😀
The Outcast
July 30th, 2019 - 3:41pmWow. Some of these sets are just mind blowing. HARRY SULLIVAN! A new Sontaran Variant with a new head! Even the TARDISes got slight new parts. Really good, definitely want to pick up the majority of these.
Scott Short
July 30th, 2019 - 3:41pmI was ecstatic when he revealed these, love the two tardises and am gonna try and get them both, more might skip the silver nemesis set and focus on getting the two sontaran sets but will definitely be getting the dalek sets, a shame they used a new series dalek for the seventh Doctor, was convinced they were gonna give us a planet supreme dalek and call it a genocide machine set but at least we have a form of TV movie 7th doctor, so excited
Nick
July 30th, 2019 - 3:34pmLovely selection. Shame they couldn’t have some available immediately to tie in but I look forward to getting them!
The Flying Shark
July 30th, 2019 - 3:33pmSo excited for these! Very disappointed with the video though, poor quality and badly produced.
Jon
July 30th, 2019 - 3:47pmI’m sure they have been busy getting the sets just right rather than worrying about perfect video quality. It’s a factual unboxing and not a jazzed-up advert. Quality was just fine IMO.
I think it was presented very well and with real passion for the product. Loved it!

July 30th, 2019 - 3:33pmThey look fantastic!! Looking forward to chose which I want to get!!!
Jon
July 30th, 2019 - 3:30pmExcellent selection. So much for ‘no new sculpts’. Harry is brilliant. If we all buy these and support them then roll on what may come next year. With increasing support we could see an even bigger range.

July 30th, 2019 - 3:27pmCan’t believe how close some of my guesses got and that I got some bang on. But I was definitely pleasantly surprised as well! I can safely say I want to get all of them…

July 30th, 2019 - 3:26pmWowsers!!!! Some of those I was NOT expecting at all! Cannot wait
Phantomsidious
July 30th, 2019 - 3:23pmGood stuff here overall, two doctors set looks good
The Other
July 30th, 2019 - 3:21pmThe Dark Eyes set is still the most interesting, not much here grabs my attention. The War Doctor set is a huge letdown. Don’t like to be negative but it’s just my opinion.
The plausible suggestions that were thrown around were much more interesting; such as a repaint of the s4 Supreme for a Time Strategist with the War Doctor (yes it would have missed the neck rings but no-one I saw seemed to mind), and perhaps even a repaint of the Planet of Fire Ainley as a Survival variant (which works surprisingly well).
Ah well, I’m sure many will be pleased so I’m happy for them! I’m trying to stop collecting anyway.
