New Zealand Mint and Minted-UK at ExCeL Celebrations
Coming soon – your chance to win the iconic 1oz silver TARDIS Coin AND a ½oz pure silver individual Doctor coin of your choice.
New Zealand Mint and Minted-UK ExCeL Celebrations
The New Zealand Mint and Minted-UK are very excited to be joining forces to create a presence at the 50th Anniversary celebrations for Doctor Who at the ExCeL centre on the 22nd-24th November.
The full range of the NZ Mint’s high quality, innovatively packaged, Doctor Who coins will be available for fans to purchase at the venue.
Starting from the very affordable ½oz pure silver individual Doctor coins through to the collector’s item ‘Par Excellence’ in the 1oz gold Doctor Who, fans will have the opportunity to commemorate this historic event with items from the most sought after range of collectible coins in a decade.
As collectible items it is important to note that these coins will never be minted again which means the window for ownership will not be open for long. The New Zealand Mint’s first product, the iconic 1oz silver TARDIS, has been an instant hit. With only 10,000 minted worldwide this item has already achieved a 90% sell out in the 4 months following release.
The fan base has been delighted with the packaging as the TARDIS makes the iconic ‘Vworp Vworp’ sound upon opening. It is a high quality product and its innovative packaging has set the benchmark for the rest of the range.
The second item released was the 1oz Gold Doctor Who.
This coin has been minted in 9999 gold with a very limited edition of only 250 pieces.
The excitement around this item saw an initial allocation sold out within minutes of release on the Perth Mint’s website. There are only a few pieces remaining and these will be at the show for fans to purchase.
Anyone that decides to purchase more than one of these items will receive a very special bonus that will prove priceless to any Doctor Who fan.
Details of this offer will be announced soon on the Minted UK website www.minted-uk.com
The most recent release is the Doctor Who 1/2 oz Silver Collectible Coin Set. This Limited Edition Doctor Who 1/2 oz Silver Coin Set is presented in a quintessential, silver-coloured fob watch case. The case displays the entire 11 Doctor coin set and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Total Mintage for each 11 Doctor coin design is 4,000. 3,000 of each coin design will be released as sets.
The remaining coins will be released individually. These will be available for shipping from Minted UK on the 7th of November although pre-orders are being taken now.
Minted UK’s directors Sharon Viti and June Lynch are delighted to be representing the New Zealand Mint at the 50th year celebrations and believe if there is any one item that fans should walk away from this event with it is one of the New Zealand Mints products. As experienced dealers in the collectible coin market their tip to fans is “try to get your coin’s certificate of authenticity signed by one of the doctors that will be present at the show. It is a great opportunity to dramatically increase the value of an already hot collectible item”.
All products come with a numbered certificate of authenticity and all currently released items will be available to purchase at the NZ Mint stand at ExCeL 22-24th November.
All coins are available to order in the UK from www.minted-uk.com

November 4th, 2013 - 1:57pmNever normally been a fan of ‘commemorative coins’ as you can’t do a great deal with them. These however, are very nice indeed!
Very tempted to purchase the Tardis coin and the first two Doctors at the 50th Celebration at the Excel. As the Tardis is so limited now, I may perhaps buy them before then….. hmmm.
What do you think booboo…., do you think I can get away with waiting till then….??

November 2nd, 2013 - 10:05pmI’ve never really understood how they are coins. Your not going to go spend hundreds of pounds on them then go buy a packet of crisps with them.
Still, not saying they are bad. They really are a work of art and I would be proud to own them (but I would never touch them 😆 )
The only one i’m not happy with is the 11th doctor one; The weeping angel looks a little….of.
