New Series K9 Figure – First Look

New Series K9 Figure – First Look

The first prototype image of the upcoming new series K9 figure has been released.

As you can see it looks an extremely accurate model. It will be the same scale as the Doctor Who 5″ line and will come in a presentation box rather than carded. There is no word on price at present.

doubt it, K9 sold world wide and was very popular in Europe so the figure will be sold far and wide

well that is partly wishful thinking as i want him bit only for two pounds or so. And K9 didn’t do to well in Britain. Also Torchwood is popular but the figures turned up in pound stretcher for £1.99 a figure.

Poundland do get some great deals in – I’ve picked up Star Trek and WALL.E figures up in there so K9 could end up in there but you just never know…thats the problem.

As for the show…I think the best bit was the regeneration…I liked how they’ve linked it with DW without actually mentioning it. I never made it past the second episode though.

no, basically the BBC own the design (the one you see in Doctor Who and SJA) but the creators (the people who first wrote about K9) own the idea of him, they wanted their own series but could not use the BBC design except in a short sequence at the begging of the first episode and then he regenerated into what you see today. it is important to remember that this is k9 mk1 and not the one that appeared Doctor Who series 2 and then got rebuilt, The Doctor actually built a few so technically they could meet (although i doubt they ever will)

I really hope it gets made in plastic and not resin, as a resin version would be too delicate and easily breakable.

They couldn’t use the original design as the BBC had the rights but not to the concept so it had to be totally different and its as aimed at a different audience. personally its great to have the figure
