New Series K9 Figure – First Look
New Series K9 Figure – First Look
The first prototype image of the upcoming new series K9 figure has been released.
As you can see it looks an extremely accurate model. It will be the same scale as the Doctor Who 5″ line and will come in a presentation box rather than carded. There is no word on price at present.

July 21st, 2011 - 4:26pmI think he will turn up in pound stretcher like the Torchwood figures did.
booboo
July 21st, 2011 - 4:28pmdoubt it, K9 sold world wide and was very popular in Europe so the figure will be sold far and wide
Alex_The_Geek
July 23rd, 2011 - 5:46pmwell that is partly wishful thinking as i want him bit only for two pounds or so. And K9 didn’t do to well in Britain. Also Torchwood is popular but the figures turned up in pound stretcher for £1.99 a figure.
Doctor Voo
July 23rd, 2011 - 9:45pmPoundland do get some great deals in – I’ve picked up Star Trek and WALL.E figures up in there so K9 could end up in there but you just never know…thats the problem.
As for the show…I think the best bit was the regeneration…I liked how they’ve linked it with DW without actually mentioning it. I never made it past the second episode though.
no one
July 21st, 2011 - 3:55pmis this version of k9 going to be used in doctor who/ sja i hope it isnt i like the one that the tenth doctor rebuilt.
booboo
July 21st, 2011 - 4:01pmno, basically the BBC own the design (the one you see in Doctor Who and SJA) but the creators (the people who first wrote about K9) own the idea of him, they wanted their own series but could not use the BBC design except in a short sequence at the begging of the first episode and then he regenerated into what you see today. it is important to remember that this is k9 mk1 and not the one that appeared Doctor Who series 2 and then got rebuilt, The Doctor actually built a few so technically they could meet (although i doubt they ever will)

July 21st, 2011 - 2:00pmI am so getting this, maybe two. 🙂
I really hope it gets made in plastic and not resin, as a resin version would be too delicate and easily breakable.

July 21st, 2011 - 8:55pmWell it’s a collectors figure, not an action figure…
Peter
July 21st, 2011 - 1:32pmThis is the same K9 that was left with Leela? well they can be reunited after today. like the figure, i think even if you weren’t that keen on the series this is still a must have for me
Anonymous
July 21st, 2011 - 2:31pmNope, this is only from the recent spin-off series.
booboo
July 21st, 2011 - 2:42pmThis is the original K9 MK1 that was left with Leela that regenerated at the beginning of episode one into what you see today

July 21st, 2011 - 1:20pmI cant stand the way they have taken an iconic character like K9 and messed it about I havent bothered watching the series of K9 as i dont want to spole my memmeries of how K9 looked and I wont be buying any off the figures from it. Ow sorry for spelling.

July 21st, 2011 - 12:49pmI am huge Dr Who Fan and I couldn’t bring myself to watch this tripe. I can’t stand what they did to K9 with that series. Give me the original K9 any day.
The Great One
July 21st, 2011 - 12:59pmThey couldn’t use the original design as the BBC had the rights but not to the concept so it had to be totally different and its as aimed at a different audience. personally its great to have the figure
