October 15th, 2019 - 8:12pmMy money’s on Evil of the Daleks.
the 14th doctor
October 14th, 2019 - 1:10pmpersonally i don’t care what we get. hartnel or trougton. they are both great doctors so any thing new from their eras would be great.
stories that i would like to see the most are:
1. the evil of the daleks
2. the abominable snowman
3. the fury from the deep
4. the savegers
5. the wheel in space
6. the space pirates
the only one i would be disopionted by would be the web of fear episode 3 as that would feel a bit of a let down but apart from that i am happy with any thing!

October 14th, 2019 - 10:46amI’ve suddenly thought that it might just be mission on it’s own. An animated colour and black and white version along with the new remade version. That makes three episodes on a disc same as several McCoy era stories. I presume it will be evil as it makes sense commercially but I’d happily buy mission on its it’s own
Gordon
October 14th, 2019 - 11:00amMakes zero sense to animate that if they have a live action version
Anonymous
October 14th, 2019 - 11:52amBut it’s not the original version. The remake is an alternative version not a replacement.
Anonymous
October 14th, 2019 - 11:55amIt also makes zero sense to animate episodes that physically exist but they are doing that with the faceless ones.
Tim M
October 14th, 2019 - 12:01pmThe ‘Mission to the Unknown’ which has already been recreated is absolutely fine and superb. There would be no point animating the story now. I’d much rather efforts are put towards animating other stories like ‘The Celestial Toymaker’ , ‘The Savages’ , ‘The Evil of the Daleks’ , ‘The Abominable Snowmen’, ‘Fury from the Deep’ , ‘The Wheel in Space’ or ‘The Space Pirates’ etc.
Gordon
October 14th, 2019 - 12:23pmNeither is the animations the original version. Only difference is the animation uses the original soundtrack. With a bit of audio trickery they could work the soundtrack into the live action version. No animation would be required for that
Bbc America who have a big hand on funding the animations will be broadcasting the faceless ones. It makes sense if you are broadcasting the whole thing to have a full consistent product in the same style instead of switching from 4:3 live action to widescreen animation then back to 4:3 live action before switching again to widescreen animation for the last 3 episodes.
Tim M
October 14th, 2019 - 9:25amLogically I think the next animation would be ‘The Evil of the Daleks’. We shall hopefully found out what it is soon though.
Sauvix
October 14th, 2019 - 2:29pmGiven what we have had already, I agree with the fact that it is logical
simonhanlon77
October 13th, 2019 - 9:02pmI THINK IT MAY BE EITHER ‘THE HIGHLANDERS’ OR ‘THE EVIL OF THE DALEKS’ THE REASON I SAY THIS IS BECAUSE EITHER OF THESE STORIES WILL WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN DONE WILL MAKE ORGINAL SEASONS COMPLETE. AND IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THEN THEY BE RELEASED AS ‘BLUE-RAY BOX SETS’
Richard Turner
October 13th, 2019 - 9:20pmCharles said Highlanders would be much harder to imagine doing than others given the amount of characters and complicated costumes needed. Same reason given for Marco Polo.
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 9:42pmRemember that the season 4 boxset would include the smugglers and tenth planet as well. Also the Highlanders has been confirmed as not coming out
TIM M
October 14th, 2019 - 7:43pmNot trying to be controversial here, but another reason for not animating any ‘historical’ story is that the animation style being used works better for the sci-fi/fantasy stories, rather than the more serious historicals. The style might not sit as well with the audio.

October 13th, 2019 - 6:37pmWas anything announced or is it embargoed?
booboo
October 13th, 2019 - 6:47pmits not for a couple of weeks
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 11:14amIf it’s a serial of animated big finish episodes, that’ll be the BEST announcement ever!!!
Chris Howarth
October 14th, 2019 - 8:18amNo, it really wouldn’t.
Jonathan Dolan
October 14th, 2019 - 4:01pmI agree, there’s some cracking stories which I’d love to see brought to life. Spare Parts, Davros, The Brink of Death or any McGann tales.
Anonymous
October 14th, 2019 - 4:36pmThe first on my list would be The Legacy of Time…
Anonymous
October 16th, 2019 - 7:06pmI’d like to see Dark Eyes, Doom Coalition and Ravenous animated first if that’s the case
Gordon
October 13th, 2019 - 10:26amPersonally I think the obvious answer is evil. It follows directly on from the faceless ones. I doubt it will be Marco crusade masterplan masacre and highlanders. Those have been deemed unlikely to be animated at present. Wheel seems a possibility however Richard Bignell seems to think it’s not happening. Space pirates seems a posibility seeing as it completes a season however it’s got an extremely poor reputation with no memorable monster or companion entrance or exit which may hurt its chances and the animations chosen aren’t chosen because of the collection. With the team hard at work on the faceless ones I wonder if it’s another team working on this? It could open the possibilities for larger projects down the road
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 10:55amAs Gordon says, and has said before, certain stories have already been ruled out. I do think evil is the most likely one. Am I right in thinking Gordon that the animations are to be shown on BBC America? If that is the case then they will not do a combination of animated, original episode and reconstruction as someone suggested. Now personally I wasn’t keen on the macrame animation, however I’m happily buying faceless ones and will buy whatever the next one is as well. Please be grateful for getting anything and don’t complain what you want isn’t announced.
Prof Horner
October 13th, 2019 - 11:24amWell Evil would be better, but I still hope it’s the space pirates so we can the complete season 6 on Blu Ray next year. Season 6 is the earliest Who I can remember . I will get every season on Blu Ray up to season 21.
Rob W
October 13th, 2019 - 11:39amThe Macra Terror used newer animation software called Toon Boom Harmony and the team are now more experienced in using this, so who knows how many stories are in the pipeline.
Gordon
October 13th, 2019 - 11:47am@anonymous that is correct though I’ve no idea when macra terror is being shown
@prof Horner if it is space pirates I doubt season 6 will be out next year. They will want a stand alone release first to recoup animation costs and maximise sales before releasing it in the collection range
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 2:25pmAm still betting on Daleks Masterplan 2020 or in 2025. Mission to the Unknown needs put on some disc!
The 14th Doctor
October 13th, 2019 - 2:29pmI want the space pirates to be animated as it would complete season 6
The Ergon
October 13th, 2019 - 7:06pmSeems more than likely it could be those 5 episodes for Evil but what about ‘The celestial Toymaker’ for 3, and one story for Hartnells era?.Whats the main difficulty with this?
The Ergon
October 13th, 2019 - 7:10pmOh i,ve just checked my bookazine. No telesnaps to work on and reliance on existing photos.
Tim M
October 14th, 2019 - 12:05pmIronically that would make the animation of ‘The Space Pirates’ somewhat easier. Having only the surviving episode 2 and no telesnaps of the others, gives the animators more freedom to interpret and visualise the story however they wish within reason.
The Ergon
October 14th, 2019 - 3:38pmThey,ve sneakily incorporated Magpie Electricals from New Who into ‘The faceless ones’, so as the whole feature unless the episodes are found I see no reason why not?
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 10:04amHope the highlanders get’s animate or the savages
Gordon
October 13th, 2019 - 10:11amCharles norton ruled the highlanders out yesterday saying it’s unlikely to be animated.
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 9:41amI’ve got a feeling it’s Space Pirates for the Season 6 Blu-ray
Gordon
October 13th, 2019 - 10:03amThey would want a stand alone release first to recoup costs before putting it in season 6. There would also need to be a gap between the stand alone release and collection release so not to cancel each other out.
Steven taylor
October 13th, 2019 - 8:10amI hope its the celestial toymaker, its a very visual story and telesnaps doesnt do it justice, its its my favourite Hartnell
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 10:24amDidn’t think telesnaps existed for that one
Tim M
October 14th, 2019 - 1:51pmYeah I would like ‘The Celestial Toymaker’ animated. It’s a great story and would work perfectly as a Cartoon.
The Outcast
October 13th, 2019 - 3:52amMy money is on Evil of the Daleks. It seems to me they’re doing Season 4 in chronological order, with The Highlanders and Underwater Menace skipped because they are too costly to do or something.
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 12:27amI’m guessing Evil of the Daleks, it would make sense, though I wish they hadn’t skipped the Highlanders.
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 10:06amI need the highlanders to be animated
Anonymous
October 12th, 2019 - 11:40pmHoping it’s Daleks masterplan
Mission to the Unknown was recently recreated
and next year is the 55th anniversary
prototype dalek
October 12th, 2019 - 10:46pmWon’t be surprised if it was the wheel in space
BtsR
October 12th, 2019 - 10:12pmIf anyone can record/audio record the bluray collection talk/restoration and packaging panel I’d really appreciate it, would love to see that and add it to my collection of interviews/podcasts of the behind the scenes team of the blurays.
Sean Bassett
October 12th, 2019 - 9:38pmReally hoping for Marco Polo.

October 12th, 2019 - 9:30pmHow soon after the convention will the new animation announcement be on Youtube?
SamWho
October 13th, 2019 - 1:26amProbably quite soon after or at the same time so no one can leak it
Simon W
October 12th, 2019 - 8:49pmI would like to see the Dalek Masterplan Come to animation in the next 4 years. This would be nice to see.
Doctor Mysterio
October 12th, 2019 - 9:02pmHope so! (If it’s a budget issue I wouldn’t even have a problem with them releasing it in two parts.)
Simon W
October 13th, 2019 - 9:39pmI agree with you @ Doctor Mysterio. Even if they put the price of this story up to £30- £35 I would still get it.
Sons of Skaro
October 12th, 2019 - 8:42pmFingers crossed it’s Fury.
Anonymous
October 12th, 2019 - 11:30pmI feel fury would be ruined by animation. That sorry could only be down well in live action or really good animation that isn’t mostly 2D
Sons of Skaro
October 27th, 2019 - 1:34pmIT’S FURY!
Sons of Skaro
October 27th, 2019 - 1:38pmIt’s Fury
Anonymous
October 12th, 2019 - 8:35pmI doubt this but what if they animated a big finish story or they made a unmade story? i would like to see season 27
Phasergrim
October 12th, 2019 - 9:27pmNot gonna happen unfortunately. They almost defined think there’s no market for that. I’d love for them to animate Storm Warning and the rest of that series in order to have an eighth doctor series on DVD but there we go.
MJS
October 12th, 2019 - 8:00pmI’d have said evil or wheel anyday….but with off the wall releases like macra and faceless, it’s anyone’s guess
Josh
October 12th, 2019 - 7:49pmThe more interesting thing is The fact this animation is being announced before the faceless ones is released and the fact that this early announcement probably means itll be released next year too means that theyve upped the funding to allow up to atleast 10 episodes a year possibly even 12 making the daleks master plan more of a possibility than before where it was almost certain it would never happen.
Personally im hoping that itll be the abominable snowmen and a special edition of web of fear with an animated episode 3
Lege
October 12th, 2019 - 7:16pmSpace pirates anyone?…… 😉
Anonymous
October 12th, 2019 - 7:59pmhope so for season 6
Anonymous
October 12th, 2019 - 11:18pmI would like to see the space pirates because I think it is underrated
The Flying Shark
October 12th, 2019 - 7:15pmI hope it’s a Season 3 Hartnell-whilst I understand Season 4 has been the focus of animations seeing as it has no complete stories, by the time The Faceless Ones comes out, it will have five stories completed with animation as opposed to four without. Meanwhile, Season 3 has three complete stories out of ten-the UCLan Mission to the Unknown fills a gap, but that’s still six stories incomplete. Personally, I wouldn’t mind if Galaxy 4 is left as the DVD recon, and Myth Makers, Massacre and Savages would do as recons for me too. The Celestial Toymaker would be good animated, but unlikely as with The Crusade due to the racist subtext. For those reasons, I recommend animating half of The Daleks’ Master Plan-I realise that nine episodes would be a massive task, but four/five, not so much. It would be better than still images for the majority of it, and could be alternated to be recon/animation/surviving episode. Plus, Daleks always sell! Sorry for the long post but I do love a missing episode ramble!
Bobby Davros
October 12th, 2019 - 6:54pmAnimate 7 episodes and you could complete both seasons 2 and 6 box sets. Animate another 7 and you complete season 1 too.
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 9:43pmIt’s not a case of quantity, but rather contents.
Dan Fellows
October 12th, 2019 - 6:38pmAny money it’s a Hartnell. I’d rather it wasn’t, but I suppose it would be only fair!
Anonymous
October 13th, 2019 - 7:25amI love Hartnell and hope it is.
The Flying Shark
October 14th, 2019 - 8:13amI agree, I’m not being biased because Hartnell is my favourite, but I’m getting a bit sick of Troughton releases to be honest. Every story since 2013 has been a Troughton-Enemy, Web, Moonbase, Underwater Menace, Power of the Daleks, Macra Terror and Faceless Ones (Yes, I know I skipped Shada)-I know Troughton has more missing episodes, and Season 4 is practically a blank slate, so I get they want to do lots of animations to get that season as complete as possible for the Collection sets, but Season 3 is also very blank, and that has no animations so far and could be a rather bland set without animations. It has three complete stories out of ten, four if we count the UCLan Mission to the Unknown, but even so, that’s a lot of telesnaps reconstructions, and could become tiresome in longer stories such as The Daleks’ Master Plan which would need nine reconstructions!
Chris
October 12th, 2019 - 6:09pmI’m wondering if it’s the completion of The Wheel in Space…they have the first 10 minutes already on the Macra Terror.
DWS
October 12th, 2019 - 6:04pmWhat could it be do you think, booboo? I think Evil of The Daleks or Fury from The Deep? Maybe Wheel in Space?
Sauvix
October 12th, 2019 - 5:40pmIs this more info on the Faceless Ones or the announcement of another story (please let it be the latter and if it is so, please let it be Evil of the Daleks)
booboo
October 12th, 2019 - 5:42pmannouncement of another story
Anonymous
October 12th, 2019 - 6:05pmWill it be of a missing story or a 13th doctor one similar to projects like the infinite quest, hope it’s a missing story, does this mean they’re being done more regularly now? Hoping for evil or fury, it would be cool for more season 4 episodes to be done for a potential season 4 bluray boxset
