Is there an order to these?

Wave 1 consisted of: 4th. Doctor/Sontaran Styre marked as Series 1 followed by Cyberleader/Master marked as Series 2

    If Wave 2 is : Leela/Scaroth marked for example as Series 3 & Morbius/Sutekh as Series 4?

Would that then again explain the 6 figures for Wave 3 as Series 5, 6 & 7? {If 2 figures to a released Series?} (Magnus Greel, 1st Doctor, Mr Sin, Li H’sen Chang, Kraal & Dalek)

Sometimes, because a prototype has been made, does not mean it comes to market. The Character Options Krynoid was prototyped at least three years ago. One rumour was that it would be a collect-a-build, but it never happened. Then bizarrely, an Axon appeared first. Finally, something tooled up all that time ago will see the light of day. Same could happen here.

They got some of the items to “dress up” the display according to their facebook account.

Although if you look at the second from bottom shelf you can see the 1:6 scale Tenth Doctor figure (or a prototype at least, there’s no trenchcoat at the moment).

GROANNNNN. 😡 still no figures I wanted !

I want some characters from the 80’s already !

I don’t want just a hundred Tom Baker – era figures.

Where’s a Fifth Docotr, Sixth Doctor, Omega, Sylvester McCoy figure, a Cyberman Earthshock figure, Peri, Nyssa, the Melkur, the Ice Warriors, COME ON !! 🙁

It is the best way to test the market; Tom Baker era items will outsell other classic eras. If the Season 12-17 ones sell enough, they will no doubt try other eras, perhaps Pertwee monsters first. The Tom Baker era has always been the most iconic from an imagery point of view and perhaps these retro figures are designed to also appeal to those who grew up with that era but stopped following it long ago. Look at all the Tom Baker imagery HalfMoonBay used to promote their retro range before gradually incorporating the rest of the colour eras.

This is a US toy range remember. The TV companies there point blank refused to broadcast any of the black and white episodes, and only a few broadcasted Jon Pertwee stories.

People had to contribute to their local PBS to get Doctor Who shown. I lived out there during the early-mid 1980s and felt very privileged to be able to watch The Ambassadors of Death and The Mind of Evil (B&W). Some fans I knew then were able to tape these and some Baker stories like The Keeper of Traken. Today it is hard to imagine the difficulties we had watching Doctor Who 3 decades ago. Remember that The Deadly Assassin was released on video long before the UK, just like The Key to Time was on DVD.

I am aware of the PBS broadcasters and they did a good job, as nobody else was willing to broadcast them. The BBC had made several attempts starting from 1965 to get their episodes broadcast but had no luck. If they had been successful, the amount of money they would have made would have vastly helped the show, and dozens of extra copies of the episodes would need to have been produced to allow for broadcast across the US so we may have had a few more in the archives today.

They look more like a poorly made modern figure.

I understand that they are supposed to be “retro” but there is something missng from them to make them seem like that.

Although, this lot are a lot closer to a retro style, especially the Dalek.

5 in a Wave? There are normally 4? Possibly LiH’sen Chang and Mr Sin are packaged together? Anyway, I love these retro figures, but I would LOVE to see all the Doctor’s, and possibly companions in the near future…
