The pop group Mankind took the UK charts by storm and surprise in 1978 when they suddenly came from nowhere during the 15th-anniversary year of Doctor Who to smash into the Top 30 with their disco rendition of the cult BBC TV programme s theme music.

Now a special album showcasing all of Mankind’s recordings as well as a brand new Space Time 2013 remix by Dos Amigoz is being released to mark the programme s 50th anniversary.

    -i don’t quite grasp the significance of the first Hollywood-based convention here, it was certainly not the world’s first (Panopticon ’77 for instance!) GREAT version of the theme though in any event… 😀

      Oh, the English language. Read the line without pause and you get The first ever Dr Who Convention in Hollywood. In fact it was the first Dr Who convention in the USA, and therefore quite significant.
