limited-Edition Package Iconic Casio Gold A159 watch

Available to order from www.casio.co.uk

Two fan favourites; Casio and BBC Studios’ Doctor Who, have teamed up to create a limited-edition package for the iconic gold A159 watch, to coincide with Doctor Who’s upcoming and eagerly anticipated Christmas special.

It comes at the perfect moment, as this year marks Casio’s 50th Anniversary, another reason for celebration.

This limited-edition package comes with bespoke Doctor Who Christmas themed box sleeve, a Time Hotel keycard – a subtle nod to the upcoming festive episode of the much-loved sci-fi TV show – and a collectors TARDIS pin badge.

To make this moment even more memorable, Casio will be hosting a competition to win a bundle of catch-them-if-you-can watches and exclusive Doctor Who kit. You can enter via the Casio UK website or by scanning the QR code inside the watch box.

Warren Halliwell, Content & Campaign Manager, Casio UK, commented: “We are so excited for this collaboration. Two icons coming together feels like the perfect way to kick off the festive celebrations.”

Vanessa Hamilton, Doctor Who Brand Director, BBC Studios, commented: “We are thrilled to team up with Casio ahead of the Christmas special episode and look forward to seeing the limited-edition packages under trees this Christmas”

They should reissue the Twin Graph II if they want the Doctor Who audience.
When I first saw this, I was expecting the watch to be obviously Who related with a logo or insignia but it is just a standard Casio. I’m guessing that the watch will be somehow involved with the plot of the Christmas special, otherwise it really is just special edition packaging.
Assuming I’m right, it will seem an odd piece of product placement but will probably make a nice replica, for want of a better word, paired with the hotel key card

The obvious question hasn’t been answered in the press release.
Don’t know as far a Who merchandise is concerned whether this Is £60 for a box, Tardis Pin badge, (which looks the same as one issued by Forbidden Planet), and a “Time Hotel Keycard” or if the watch is actually in the episode and relevant to the story? If it’s not in the episode then the watch is not for me.

So it’s just a bog-standard, slightly tacky looking Casio watch with no connection to Doctor Who whatsoever other than a cardboard box?

Wise move on their part really. When they don’t sell they can just re-box them all.
