Had an email this morning with a link to a video – its gots some very nice , very tempting features. A working claw and a very interesting effect in the eyepiece. If I was younger and wealthier and had a little less wariness induced by the collapse of other companies I’d go for it !

Unlikely I know, but they could pick up The Complete History from where it left off, do Jodie’s era plus 14th/early 15th, there would be a readY market, all those who purchased the previous run; 10 volumes easily possible; means they would make it to 100 books plus breathe life back into the old stock or offer them digitallY, if they don’t do it, Terraqueous or others certainlY will!

it doesn’t appeal to me (to many parts and to much money ) but i got an idea for a partwork and not that many parts to it either how about all the doctor who and daleks annuals reprinted with a magazine i would get it and it would be over in about 40 issues

One of the Hachette partwork suggestions following the Complete History was a full set of Target novels in hardback. I voted for it. But it clearly never happened….they should though.

It is a lovely model but for me it’s far too big, 18-inches would be better and it needs a lot of modification, for example the spokes on the gun stick are too thin, there are other numerous issues. Not only is the base colour off there is no weathering. For this price these things should have been picked up on.

It is lovely just not for me.

Can anyone confirm that it is only available in the UK?

It’s a nice build, looks great, good size, but unlike the Complete History books, I’m not prepared to spend in excess of 2 years to build a “thing”. On that basis, I’m out.

Can anyone find it on the Hachette site. Doesn’t seem to be a search option. Click on the email link and something else comes up – for me anyway.

Thanks Joe – blimey ! Its quite a whopper nearly three feet high if I converted my centimetres correctly.
It should certainly be an impressive sight if it is completed.

These part-works are normally between £9.99 to £11.99 per issue with the first issue for £1.99.

They are usually between 100-120 issues which takes around 2.5 years for the final issue.

I subscribed to their T800 Terminator endoskeleton and it took 2.5 years and eventually cost over £1200 ( and that was pre-Covid)

Might be worth getting the first issue as a collectors piece.

Luckily I have the Weta ‘open’ Dalek which has always been my favourite piece of nu-Who merchandise. I think it negates the need for this one.

I want it but I’m not willing to commit to something that will cost hundreds of pounds and may possibly not be completed at the end.

They managed to do the full run of ‘The a Complete History’ books, in fact o think it went beyond what was originally planned?

I will admit I got all the boxes of the De’Agostini TB2. It’s still waiting for me to build it a few years after I got all the parts. Works out I could have got a very siliar Thunderbird 2 already built for somewhat cheaper on ebay. The parts are bound to cost a lot of money.

A lot are successful this company have put out lads. Just check out World of Wayne on YouTube he builds loads of these. I rather like the RoboCop one he’s building.

Everyone always says this and it’s just not true? Part works have been a successful business model for decades, very few don’t make it to the end

    • The DR.

      November 17th, 2024 - 11:03am

I think it’s the “Very Few” that everyone’s worried about Excello?

How many parts/issues in the partwork? If it’s hundreds that amounts to a LOT of money, commitment, and hope that it makes to the end…

The big worry is making it to the end. I’d love it but just dont want to risk it. The bother with Big Chief has just destroyed any long term commitment to a project like this.

What about Eaglemoss Cully’s Pal. Besides Dr Who they did alot of other Franchises and they did a few of these “PartWorks”. I heard some were only half way through?

    • Cully’s Pal

      November 15th, 2024 - 4:33pm

Yes there’ve been a few gone under…. I wish Id been owed stuff by eaglemoss rather than Big Chief though it wouldnt have been as much money simply flushed down the toilet…..

      November 16th, 2024 - 12:40pm

I think as Joe 90 above Mentioned they’ll probably be around 100-120 issues of this Magazine. There’s usually around that Number in these Magazine Builds and that will still take 3 Years to Complete.
