This is very sad news as they’ll loose lots of business & we’ll probably be told they are in administration before long, the Internet is the reason so many bricks & mortar businesses can’t compete today so this is a step backward & I fear will spell their downfall. 🙁

Not surprised. Their prices are often too high, and therefore I can’t imagine who they think can actually afford to purchase their item.

Pop wise they were way cheaper than anyone else as the post was free up to a while ago and even now just £1.

we all have to look forward to paying a lot more now if we can even get them

usually in this day and age you shut the shops down and go mail order only. all seems very strange they must be losing loads of sales through not doing mail order anymore. the nearest shop to me is Sheffield and it isn’t very good. im still waiting on an order a place a week ago to be sent off but they have always been slow at doing anything.

Bugger. How am I meant to get any Doctor Who figures and merch now? Australia is awful with getting things, the Seven20 Sonic and CO 10″ 13th Doctor doll figure aren’t due over here until January 2019.

I only hope the other Forbidden Planet site (the .com one) will get whatever new Doctor Who figures come out, cause otherwise those of us outside the UK are doomed.

The days of me walking into an ABC shop and finding the War Doctor figure a few days before it’s release have long gone sadly.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face! I use to use them a lot, but the only thing I’ve bought from them over the last couple of years has been the Dr Who Pops. Hope someone else take’s these on?

This is a bit worrying for the international Pops HOWEVER I have seen both the First Doctor and Amy Pond in a local store near me so it seems that they do get distributed to regular stores too. I’ll have to nip in and ask if they’ll be getting Thirteen and if so if they’re able to save me one. Hopefully someone else steps up to the plate for online sales. Still, it seems an incredibly odd decision to stop online trading whilst keeping physical stores open. Normally goes the other way.

Seems odd to me a flagship London store wont be getting a major piece of 13th Doctor Merchandise.

Many Many people don’t live anywhere near a store that’s likely to carry this kind of stock so a (good) online presence is vital for sales

Was this the site that had sales of 5″ figure box sets every so often or was it the other one?

I bought the Drashig Pertwee set one time.

      Thank you.

It always seemed odd having two such similar sites.

I believe it was 2 brothers who owned as a whole originally then wanted to split.

to be honest apart from the odd pop now and then they have hardly done anything Doctor Who wise since the UT split.

Half the sonic orders seem to have got cancelled as well because of lack of stock.

My main concern is accessibility of pops for all concerned this was big business via FPi

Trying to find out what’s happening with the 13th SDCC pop

Pop in a box are alright for pops. Supposedly they take a long time to ship for preorders and they’re run by zaavi. The 13th doc apparently some people are saying the pop released at sdcc wont be widely released and the jacketless one will instead. I highly doubt that but we’ll see. Also there’s still FP.com and smaller retailers.

Interesting. Am I right in thinking that despite the name, there is no longer a commercial link with the other FP (which I think is owned by Titans). Hopefully that FP is still safe.

no connection now, they spit years ago, just been told they (FP.COM) were not able to source the 13th Doctor SDCC Pop so goodness knows what will happen now

I wonder if Zavvi might pick it up. I’ve seen certain exclusives appear on there from time-to-time.

How is a brand going to survive without online sales in this day and age? Is it this FP that ended up with the Dr Who exclusives alone in the end?

yes, but they were tied in with underground toys then so big changes have been going on

their on-line pop business was massive so a huge dent there
