Figurine Collection Magazine Special 20 The Pyrovile

From the greatest sci-fi TV series in the world comes the twentieth Special Edition in the Doctor Who Figurine Collection – The Pyrovile!

The TARDIS lands in Pompeii and when the Doctor discovers the date on which he and Donna Noble have arrived, he’s desperate for them to leave. But Donna won’t budge as they’ve landed the day before the volcano Vesuvius erupts and she wants to save as many of the inhabitants as is humanly possible!

But something deep underground wants to tap into the power of the volcano, the alien Pyrovile, creatures made of rock and magma. They hope to use the incredibly devastating power of Vesuvius to unleash their kind across the entire planet, creating an new empire for the aliens – and the end of humanity as we know it!

Standing at approximately 169mm tall, The Figurine Collection have recreated the Pyrovile, to specific standards, and their figurine is another essential addition to the ever-growing collection.

Does anyone know if we’ll be getting a reaper figure from the 9th doctor episode “fathers day “? Was one of my favourite episodes from that series and I thought they were great personally I’ve been hoping the writers find a way to bring them back at some point.

Paul Cornell re-used them in the Four Doctors comic, and they’ve also cameoed in a few others. However, a figurine I think is unlikely as it’s very large, would be difficult to stand plus there aren’t many spaces left assuming the collection does end soon.

Ah fair enough I can see where you’re coming from due to the size and general shape of them. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that four doctors comic then. Thanks for responding.

Does the opt in count for the upcoming dalek ship to ..as that was hinted at being a bit more expensive so wondered if it would class as a special special so to speak

Great figure that I’ll be getting. Also, why don’t Eaglemoss release the Vespiform? yes it’s a giant wasp, but It’s an alien.

The legs and wings will be too fiddly. This is a subject that has been touched on numerous times over the eaglemoss threads.

How would it stand too? Personally, I’m fine without one, CO have already done one and I prefer it when Eaglemoss do their own figures, like a Great One Spider or something.

They’ve tweeted very recently that the Vespiform is an almost certain ‘no’ I’m afraid

probably be just far to fragile, its the only 5″ figure i don’t have as could’t afford to bay the whole wave again that I’d only just bought a few months earlier

Andrew, there was a third 4th doctor variant in the Companion Set with Sarah Jane Smith, released separately last December (these are sold in boxes via Eaglemoss’s web store, separate from the fortnightly partwork line). It was based on his grey tweedy coat first seen in The Android Invasion and last seen (I think?) in the Sunmakers. The set is still available.

Exciting! I think Series 4 is one of the most covered series now, isn’t it? Only Partners in Crime, Unicorn and the Wasp, Midnight and Turn Left not covered? Due to monsters being too small/too large/not seen/etc.

Turn Left they could do a Donna with the thing on her back

Could be breaking the rule of ‘No companions in the main collection’, but there are plenty of rules they’ve broken before. Remember when they said no variants, and here we are with three Fourth Doctors? Although if they’re doing Beetle Donna, they’d better do Spider Sarah Jane too.

Another excellent addition to this wonderful collection.

Do we know when the application process for an extension needs to start and when we’ll find out if it’s been extended by?
