October 14th, 2015 - 9:58pmLooking at the pictures, does it mean the sonic screwdriver is comin back? Shows 12 with sonic shades and sonic screwdriver then another with Clara holding the sonic screwdriver.

October 14th, 2015 - 11:20pmIn the show, do you mean? It’s likely Titan just weren’t informed about the development with the sonic. Rachael Stott (illustrator throughout this series who drew the cover with the guitar-wielding Doctor) has said that the artists working on it were only really given photos of the characters in their new costume variants to work from, but that’s probably where the sunglasses have come from. And as for the writers, all three writers of the ‘Glamour Chronicles’ novels have said that they weren’t really told anything about the new series, only the finished material was checked over by Moffat (or someone else high up and involved with the actual series) just to make sure that nothing clashed with or contradicted anything that was going to happen on-screen. So if it’s anything like that, then staff at Titan wouldn’t have known that the sonic screwdriver was going to be replaced by the sonic sunglasses and the former will no doubt appear as usual with the latter appearing only as ordinary sunglasses, if they even make it past the cover art. Bear in mind that production on these started months before the series returned to our screens.
