‘Who am I…? WHO AM I?’
It’s December 1999, and strange things are happening as the new millennium nears. A British police box appears from nowhere in San Francisco’s Chinatown and the mysterious man inside it is shot down in the street. Despite the best efforts of Dr Grace Holloway, the man dies and another stranger appears, claiming to be the same person in a different body: a wanderer in time and space known only as the Doctor.
But the Doctor is not the only alien in San Francisco. His deadly adversary the Master is murdering his way through the city and has taken control of the TARDIS. The Master is desperate to take the Doctor’s newly regenerated body for himself, and if the Doctor does not capitulate, it will literally cost him the Earth… and every last life on it.
Robert Sienicki
January 16th, 2021 - 2:57pmI think I may actually get this one. I like the idea of these new Target books. But what I would really love is for them to do a novelizations of some of the best Big Finish 8th Doctor stories. I am rubbish listener sadly and I’ve heard good things and it would be fun to have few McGann stories in this form.

January 14th, 2021 - 1:41pmOne thing I have noticed is that in the group announcement it states that this is a reissue rather than a new version. And the revised page count matches the original at 224. Not bothered either way as I like the original novel.
Hi
January 14th, 2021 - 10:12amDo you think they will have illustrations in the new target books
Anonymous
January 14th, 2021 - 1:40pmThey haven’t so far, illustrations add to the expense of production so I doubt it. Some of the reissues did and I’d love the new books to have some but I don’t think they will

January 13th, 2021 - 2:13pmWeird seeing this looking like a vintage Target cover, I like it.
Shame this is known as “The TV Movie” I know that what it was but it’s not a great title, wasn’t it also called “The Enemy Within” too? I suppose nobody would know what that was now if it’s been called the movie for so long.

January 13th, 2021 - 3:51pmYes it makes an odd title doesn’t it. Mind they could have called it something else as some of the original books had alternative titles. I don’t mind the TV movie title too much though.

December 10th, 2019 - 6:00pmSo pleased the only 8th dr TV who is getting a target makeover. It’s also a good book. Scary to think though that by the time this comes out the story and novel for that matter will be 24 years old!

January 13th, 2021 - 11:50amI’m sure I read somewhere that this is a revised version, so technically a new novel. The previous version was based on an earlier version of the script and this is rewritten to be closer to the broadcast version.
