If we don’t get a 60th and season (1) figure wave it’s probably the biggest missed opportunity ever I’m waiting to see if they will release a coatless 14th before I make one

Russell said there was no interest in toys from the market after the decline in current era ones over the last decade. It’ll take this era heating up before we get a chance of the kind of wide releases we should. Without burying Chibnall’s era, Russell said something on the commentary for Star Beast about the adult collectibles taking over and he wants to get back to releases for kids as well. No way would he not have had a Meep and Tennant, Toymaker and Ncuti set out for Christmas. And a plush Meep.

The man obviously doesn’t know about b&m I bought in to the sets hoping it would help the range come back it’s just a shame as I can sell my second 14th for like £90 but if I do they will release a coatless one most likely

WOW! Is that how much the 14 Doctor figures go for now a days?

Yeah because they have only made him once really annoying that they haven’t bothered with sets for the 60th as that’s the last thing about Doctor who I like so the show is dead to me now RTD waffling about how poor sales are yet both the sonic and figures sold crazy really is a shame as we deserve an updated Donna at the very least

While that’s true, RTD never actually said it; certainly not on The Star Beast commentary (which he isn’t even on). He only mentioned when asked about the release of Meep plushies, at the press screening of The Star Beast, that licensees hadn’t really taken an interest in merchandise of the Meep – yet.

I don’t want to seem critical but do people actually buy this stuff? I guess so considering they make it, but who really wants a lifesize cardboard cutout of ‘possessed UNIT soldier’? Genuinely curious. I assume there must be people that collect these I guess, but man I can’t imagine having enough room to store all of these. It’s tough enough finding enough room for the smaller Character Options figures lol.

The Doctors i totally get but random characters i’m with you on.i think people buy them mainly for birthday parties and us tennant fangirls buy them to put in our bedrooms as it’s the nearest we’ll get to getting david in there lol.

I had the Ironside Dalek, I tried for about 8 years to display it somewhere it looked good but in the end I just had to get rid of it as it was so big and difficult to store something that large.

But if people like stuff like this that’s cool.

The funniest thing about their offerings I’ve found is that they’ve made and are still actually selling a standee of Colin Morgan’s Jethro character from “Midnight”. I get the actor was popular for Merlin but man.

And they’ve apparently sold 128 Jethros in the last week… That makes him more popular than some of the Doctors and the Daleks…

There has always been a market for standees. I remember back in the early 80’s, there was a cinema shop on Brewer St that sold nothing by standees and movie posters, most of which were quite obscure if you were not interested in the film/show/brand. That said – no Toymaker?

      Me too.

I then would have bought 2 of them at least.

Hopefully CO will announce their new nuWho stuff soon.

Chances are they would most likely have been a doctor and companion set or something they could duplicate.
