Doctor Who The Moonbase Collector’s Edition Colour vinyl LP

Available to order from www.amazon.co.uk

“There are some corners of the universe which have bred the most terrible things…They must be fought.”

Demon Records presents, for the first time on 2LP vinyl, the complete full-cast soundtrack of this ‘lost’
classic BBC TV adventure, with linking narration by Frazer Hines.

The Second Doctor (Patrick Troughton) is thrown into his first rematch with the Cybermen in the year 2070.
Humans have colonized the Moon, and the Cybermen have identified their base as a strategic vantage
point from which to invade Earth! Can the Doctor and his companions Polly (Anneke Wills), Ben (Michael
Craze) and Jamie (Frazer Hines) stop them?

First broadcast in 1967, this exciting adventure was written by Kit Pedler and directed by Morris Barry, with
a guest cast including Patrick Barr, Andrew Maranne, Michael Wolf and John Rolfe. Whilst only two of the
four episodes are known to survive on film, thankfully all four are available as sound recordings, complete
with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop’s familiar Doctor Who theme music.

With a superb cover illustration depicting the Cybermen on the Moon, these two translucent ‘Blue Moon’
discs are housed in beautifully designed inner sleeves with vintage TV guide-style listings for each episode.

Track Listing:

  • LP 1 Side A Episode One – Originally broadcast 11th February 1967
  • LP 1 Side B Episode Two – Originally broadcast 18th February 1967
  • LP 2 Side C Episode Three – Originally broadcast 25th February 1967
  • LP 2 Side D Episode Four – Originally broadcast 4th March 1967

Is this the first Demon vinyl to have the Doctor on the cover? I was a bit unsure when I first saw it, but it’s growing on me very quickly. They’re always great to have anyway.

Tomb of the Cybermen has a glorious art cover. gatefold, in the heady early days.

      It really is spectacular .

Jon Pertwee collection & Tom Baker collection both have Doctors on.

And City of Death, has a Photo montage cover with a Publicity shot of the Dr and I think a Romana made up of various images.

Gorgeous Cover , love The Moonbase. Didn’t think we were getting anymore this year after 10th planet and Jon pertwee Collection.

Brilliant news. Although Amazon have Jan 26 as the delivery date. But 19th Sept as release date. I’m sure they will fix that , but it’s a bit off putting .

Mine says Arriving 2nd of January. Definitely some kind of Glitch. I hope so anyway. I’ll be Really Annoyed if it’s Released on the 19th of September but they don’t send it While Next Year. LOL.
