Clara and the Doctor: Linked through time in the most impossible way!

Clara ‘Oswin’ Oswald: The Impossible Girl. She and the Doctor first met on the Dalek Asylum planet where she claimed to have been fending off Dalek attacks for a year, making soufflés – where did she get the milk and eggs? Oswin agreed to deactivate the forcefield around the planet, but when human the Doctor went to rescue her, he discovered the terrible truth. Oswin wasn’t a girl any longer, but actually an insane Dalek who, unable to cope with her conversion, had retreated into a fantasy world. Oswin fulfilled her promise of helping the Doctor, telling him to “Run. Run, you clever boy, and remember…” They will meet again… and again.

impossible-box_twinfinal580

The Doctor, appalled by his inability to save Amy and Rory from the Weeping Angels, retreated to Earth and hid himself and the TARDIS away from the Universe. Another chance but ill-fated meeting with Clara Oswald in snowy Victorian London pulled him out of his solitude and set him back on a new adventure…. to find the Impossible Girl!

Set details:

Presented here in the Impossible Set, together but apart, are the Eleventh Doctor in his iconic Victorian frock coat from The Snowmen, and Oswin Oswald, the Impossible Girl, in her iconic red dress from Asylum of the Daleks.

imposs5801

The Doctor’s outfit features his top hat and jacket with fur and brocade detailing. Oswin’s outfit is a one piece red dress with her soufflé-making accessory belt.

imposs5802

The set is presented in a unique double sided foil embellished SDCC collector pack with ‘peephole’ Dalek eye window on one side and a Victorian winter vista on the other.

The 11th Doctors head can be swapped with the aged 11th Doctors head from the Time of the Doctor set.

I have a feeling on the 23rd after deep breath airs they’ll put up for preorder a 5inch twin pack of 12th doctor new costume and clara from TOTD…

As well as the 3.75 12th doctor figure…

If you were to make a custom of the Clara figure, Either from Hide of The Time of the Doctor, which would be the easiest and which episode would you choose?

Im just so happy for the 5 inch line to be back. With all due respect to the fans of the new scale, they lacked quality and looked cheap, whilst the old figures are still the best. All we need now is a Series 8 Capaldi and the resurgence of the Classic line, here’s hoping we get a Night of the Doctor Paul Mcgaan!

booboo do you think that like just forbidden planet will get them not just like International and the bbc shop. thought there be coming soon. Not just exclusive to them stores are they? Or am I just confusing myself. Lol. The localist store for me is Forbidden Palnet Manchester. Surely every fp will have em in by then?

    • booboo

there are 2 FP and they are not connected so at the moment it just looks like FP international

what are you saying you have bought goods before and have lost money because you didn’t receive them?

if not you may have ordered stuff that was either cancelled or the manufacturer couldn’t supply either way not FP fault

    • the astronaut of death

      August 2nd, 2014 - 11:47am

if that’s true you should complain

    • TheDoctor

      August 2nd, 2014 - 12:21pm

yeah it was back when the dark knight rises came out, I bought all of the movie masters line and none of them came and when I emailed them to complain they just said that they where trying to figure out what happened and then I got an email a few months later that just offered me a refund so in the long run I didn’t loose my money but I was really annoyed with their service and I’d be concerned that it would happen again.

  • The Doctor

    August 2nd, 2014 - 2:04am

Well I love this, and the Time of the Doctor set. Personally I’ve always been more of a doctor collector than a companion collector. Clara is nice but it’s all about that Doctor outfit for me. I loved the way the aged doctor looked, he was so iconic I can’t wait to have a 98% accurate one.

(Lol at people complaining about the tie instead of the bowtie, we’ve gone from putting it on a 2% accurate body in the TOTD [in that it was still Matt’s actual body] to a 98% one. I view this as a win)

Keep these sets coming! I’ll gladly fund the 5” line

ill get this, and i hope they do clara and number 12 twin pack so she’s in her ‘normal clothes.’ although in the trailer i wasn’t a fan of what she wore. i hope they do the odd monster, as i think they’ll do every doctor and companion, and they’re the main ones

    • Doctor Who Crazy Ross

      August 3rd, 2014 - 4:28pm

I would absolutely love a ‘Doctor, Companion and Monster’ set for each Doctor, I mean, it’s unlikely cos of the new sculpts they would have to make and it would be very expensive, but something like:

      1st, Susan and Sensorite
      2nd, Jamie and Yeti
      3rd, Liz and Silurian
      4th, Sarah Jane and Eldrad
      5th, Tegan and Terileptil
      6th, Mel and Valeyard
      7th, Ace and Fenric
      8th, Cass and Ohila
War, The Moment and War Dalek
      9th, Rose and Auton Bride
      10th, Donna and Dalek Caan
      11th, Clara and Zygon
12th, Danny and The Alien from Series 8 Episode 5

    • the astronaut of death

    • Doctor 909

      August 3rd, 2014 - 6:36pm

The costume she wore as the Doctor says “Am I a good man?” Didn’t look that bad. But I do agree, her costumes have had a dip.

    • DocEke

      August 3rd, 2014 - 7:01pm

      I would do:

      1, Vicki and Monoids.

      2, Jamie and quarks.

      3, Sarah and Aggedor.

      4, Romana II and Nimon.

5, Turlough and the black guardian.

      6, Mel and the vervoids.

      7, Ace and cat people.

8, Lucie miller and the master.

      9, Adam and Van stateen.

10, Wilfred and a time lord.

      11, Craig and avatar.

12, Clara and half faced cyborg.

    • the astronaut of death

      August 3rd, 2014 - 7:36pm

      I would do

      1. 1st doctor susan and dalek
      2. 2nd doctor Jamie and yeti
      3. 3rd doctor jo and master
      4. 4th doctor sarah jane and davros

      6. 6th doctor peri and rogue cyberman
      7. 7th doctor ace and special weapons dalek
      8. 8th doctor grace and master
      9. war doctor moment and dalek
      10. 9th doctor rose and dalek
      11. tenth doctor Martha and weeping angle
      12 . 11th doctor amy and silent
      13. 12th doctor clara and cyberman

    • Doctor Who Crazy Ross

      August 4th, 2014 - 9:37pm

I like your ideas the astronaut of death, but I think it would be better if we had brand new figures instead of re-releases like the daleks, the master, davros, the cybermen, weeping angels and silents etc. but on the other hand, I think it would be a good idea for the people who haven’t got them.

    • Destroyer of Worlds

      August 10th, 2014 - 9:12am

I think if they do 3 packs they should be:
      .1st Doctor, Barbara, Sensorite
      .2nd Doctor, Victoria, Great Intelligence
      .3rd Doctor, Liz Shaw, Auton
.4rd Doctor, Romana I, The Guardian

      .6th Doctor, Mel, The Rani
      .7th Doctor, Ace, Frenric
      .8th Doctor, Grace, Master
      .War Doctor, Moment Rose, Zygon
      .9th Doctor, Rose, Jagrafess
      .10th Doctor, Martha, Pig Slave
      .11th Doctor, Clara, Cyberman
.12th Doctor, Danny, The Teller (monster in episode 5)

      What are you taking about

they are only exclusive to FP in the UK and not a FP product

Every recent release has been available in Australia, usually much cheaper and usually much sooner than us

    • MadManWithABox

      August 1st, 2014 - 1:43pm

Well, I get most of my figures from either BBC Shop or Popcultcha, and Popcultcha only tend to stock some of these exclusives, definitely not all.

If there is a place that consistently stocks these FP Exclusive sets in Australia, I would like to know a name 🙂

    • booboo

      August 1st, 2014 - 1:55pm

Can you give me an example?

they are not FP exclusives, only in the UK.

If you in Australia Underground Toys are your port of call

They are Underground Toys items and they are the distributor for USA and Australia

I have have not seen any sets that Popcultcha have not stocked or had available to order online for some years now.

they have had all the Doctor Dalek sets and all the recent classic sets, the War Doctor, Time of the Doctor and i’m sure soon the impossible set. they have however sold out of some older sets

they also have all the “diamond classic” sets which aren’t available in the UK

As the series moves onwards they dont tend to bother with old characters. I,d like to know whats happening regards the heritage line, though and wheres ‘the underwater menace dvd release date? Don,t know what the hold up is with that. They only had to restore 1 episode and been waiting over 3 years.

I never understood why we only ever got one donna. we got two marthas, two roses, two amys, more than two rivers, but only one donna.

Maybe they’ll get round to doing another version with this ‘heritage line’in 3:75. I,d like them to redo a lot of the stuff from 2005 upwards but I,m not holding my breath. The impossible set and time of the doctor set are the highlight of the year so far, can,t pass up on those two sets.

Its good that it is a removable head as it means that you can have the doctor without that stupid hat on if you buy the time of the doctor set

I think that CO are taking the Marvel Legends route; they were mainstream until they swapped for the 3.75 inch scale in the form of Marvel Universe, but then they brought back Marvel Legends alongside Universe, but only did small waves with special characters that were more expensive than the 3.75 figures.

From watching the Time of the Doctor again, it might look like both chest pieces swap, as when the doctor becomes old, he has the Snowmen jacket, but the bow tie.
