Clara and the Doctor: Linked through time in the most impossible way!

Clara ‘Oswin’ Oswald: The Impossible Girl. She and the Doctor first met on the Dalek Asylum planet where she claimed to have been fending off Dalek attacks for a year, making soufflés – where did she get the milk and eggs? Oswin agreed to deactivate the forcefield around the planet, but when human the Doctor went to rescue her, he discovered the terrible truth. Oswin wasn’t a girl any longer, but actually an insane Dalek who, unable to cope with her conversion, had retreated into a fantasy world. Oswin fulfilled her promise of helping the Doctor, telling him to “Run. Run, you clever boy, and remember…” They will meet again… and again.

impossible-box_twinfinal580

The Doctor, appalled by his inability to save Amy and Rory from the Weeping Angels, retreated to Earth and hid himself and the TARDIS away from the Universe. Another chance but ill-fated meeting with Clara Oswald in snowy Victorian London pulled him out of his solitude and set him back on a new adventure…. to find the Impossible Girl!

Set details:

Presented here in the Impossible Set, together but apart, are the Eleventh Doctor in his iconic Victorian frock coat from The Snowmen, and Oswin Oswald, the Impossible Girl, in her iconic red dress from Asylum of the Daleks.

imposs5801

The Doctor’s outfit features his top hat and jacket with fur and brocade detailing. Oswin’s outfit is a one piece red dress with her soufflé-making accessory belt.

imposs5802

The set is presented in a unique double sided foil embellished SDCC collector pack with ‘peephole’ Dalek eye window on one side and a Victorian winter vista on the other.

The 11th Doctors head can be swapped with the aged 11th Doctors head from the Time of the Doctor set.

yesterday I managed to get this set from FP Nottingham for £6.99! Because the figures were not tied into the box and the employee said it was a display item. However my doctor figure has closed hands unlike the ones I have seen pictures off. I was wondering if anyone else has this or mine is unique? I can send pictures later.

Could be the shop has been swapping things around as it was display model, or even a customer return

either way great buy for £6.99

Yeah that seems likely, I don’t suspect I’ll find out exactly how it happened however I’m just happy with the bargain I got

LOADS of this set available in FP Dublin, but I don’t think it’s worth €34.99 so I left it behind (got The War Doctor though!)…

Ever since I first saw this something’s been nagging at me. Like there’s something not quite right about it, and I think I found out what it is. The shoulders look weird. I really wish they would’ve kept with the way they used to do the shoulders without the ball joints. I find them absolutely pointless. The shoulder line could look so much more crisp and cleaner without that ball joint. I noticed they did this on the Time of the Doctor set as well. Didn’t look as bad there, though. Maybe some modding could fix this.

Yes, spoils the detailing and makes the arms look un-natural not a good modification, most unncessary

      December 2nd, 2014 - 12:27am

Also, the final time of the doctor release differed from the promo photos of the figure which had detailed a modded but less troublesome mould of the upper arms.

Looks like it is a feature on the 3.75’s please let it not be trait on the 5 inches, bad enough fans are waiting/hoping for so many 5 inch releases as it is 🙁

How would you be able to do the old regenerating pose, with the arms to the sides? I tried it on a no-ball joint figure and it looked like he was using a skipping rope.

I bought this at a store yesterday and I’m in Australia, but I don’t understand how they would’ve got it when Ikon Collectables or PopCultcha haven’t even listed it. It was the last set on the shelf.
