Doctor Who The Ice Warriors Molten Ice Vinyl LP

Available to order in the UK from www.amazon.co.uk

Demon Records presents the narrated TV soundtrack of a partially ‘lost’ six-part adventure set in a future Ice Age, starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor.

The Doctor and his friends land on Earth in the future, and find it in the grip of a new Ice Age. They join a team of scientists struggling to hold back the huge glaciers that threaten all human life. A giant creature is discovered inside the ice and quickly comes to monstrous life – it’s an Ice Warriors from Mars! It intends to find its crashed spaceship, where a whole crew of Warriors is waiting to be revived…

Presented across a trio of 140g Molten Ice vinyl discs, this 1967 TV soundtrack – only four episodes of which survive as film recordings – is narrated by Frazer Hines, who co-stars as the Doctor’s companion Jamie, with Deborah Watling as Victoria. The guest cast includes Bernard Bresslaw as the Ice Warrior Varga, Peter Barkworth as Leader Clent, and Peter Sallis as Penley. Incidental music is by Dudley Simpson, and the familiar strains of the Doctor Who theme are courtesy of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

The coloured LPs are presented in fully illustrated sleeves which, when assembled together, form the cover image. Original episode billings, and full cast and credits, are included.

It should also mean you pay the lowest price on the item from when you ordered it to when it is dispatched.

I do like the cover, but I wish they’d remove the bit of ice over the Warrior’s crotch

Amazon says Collectors Edition but even Big Finish call all their CD releases “collector edition”.
Looks like it probably will be limited. Would be nice to know to how many

Amazon used to have their own Ltd edition but they stopped those a while ago, thsi will be around for a while but if you want it i would still order to make sure, some have sold out and once they do that’s it.

This is Brilliant. If Ever a Picture disc was called for (except they are horrible nadsty sounding thing) An Ice Warrior in clear Vinyl would have been something.

I adore These Releases, and the wonderful covers by Oink Creative. The joy of the Titles for the Vinyl Designs . Molten Ice . Have to come up with something special for Planet of the Daleks now 🙂

I dont mind the Non Missing stories getting a release It would be nice to have a 6, 6 and 7 , but I doubt they will, as these are mostly “off the shelf” Soundtracks. But they have been expertly cut for Vinyl too.

Nice for those who collect these but i wonder if the description of lost story really fits this one considering two thirds of it exist! Still I’m sure it will be to the usual standards

It was totally lost until 1988 when the four episodes were found. So, four of them made it, I wonder what happened to the others?!
