Mine was dispatched Thursday by Zoom. As they use Royal Mail I don’t expect it to arrive on time due to their backlog but looking forward to having it on my shelf.

Matt is better on the Pond side of the cover, but otherwise I prefer the Clara side. Both are good though

Between the 2 sides, an impressive number of episodes feature, it makes some of the earlier ones look a bit plain!

The usual layout is monsters on back, Doctor and companions on the front. However as the Series was split in two it makes sense to have done it this way.

The next one will no doubt be Day on Front, Time on back. Then back to normal layout from Series 8.

They are all fantastic, only Series 3 is a bit of a let down when compared to the rest.

Not a re-release of the original steelbook but it will get a new one with different design to go with this current range.

I expect the new Series 10 one to include Twice Upon A Time too.

I think the only thing they could do to top these books is a steelbook but with the lenticular front.
I’ve collected quite a few of the MCU ones.
They still have a gorgeous design on the steelbook, but with the alternate lenticular design aswell.
Either have the steelbook on show or use it with the lenticular cover. The covers a magnet so attaches to the steelbook easily
      (It’s so cool).

Remember the current steelbooks are not related to those already released for Series 9, 10, 11 and 12 already.

They will no doubt continue upto whatever Series is currently on TV at the time.

I’d be annoyed if they started doing Seasons as a Steelbook once the Limited Edition Range finishes. That’s a way to gurantee more people double dipping and lots of people collect Steelbooks as retain their value too.

I really hope when they have done steelbooks for all new who that they will make steel books for: sarah jane adventures, torchwood, class,tv movie and it would be nice for them to release series 1 2 3 with the current logo

Just wondering, could the Winter Quay sign still be removed. I remember something similar happened to season three.
Once the case was shown, many people complained about the mistakes and they managed to rectify it before release.
Probably would be better without the writing, if only for continuity to match the rest of the set.

The other cover was understandably changed because it contained the wrong series Master Image, i can’t see them changing this because a few people dont like it.

Really like the cover, I mentioned below, looking forward to having it in my collection.
BUT, as a few people have mentioned it does stand out abit, almost like a title of a film.
I genuinely believe some people (not hardcore fans) will be googling this when they see it in shops to see what this “New films” about, not realising it’s Dr Who.
      Just my opinion though.

      October 29th, 2020 - 5:24pm

You’ve got to bear in mind when it’s on sale, brand new in shops, they’ll have the J-card with “Doctor Who, Series 7” on it, so I completely disagree.

Wow this is absolutely stunning. I’m seriously blown away by these covers. Like it’s literally perfect.
Love that Clara’s front and centre of part 2 as well.
(except maybe Clara’s side should be on the front cos when you think of series 7 you think of part 2 don’t you.)

      October 28th, 2020 - 3:46pm

I’m totally in love with this cover. The triceratops isn’t a good idea though as it already looked too fake in the episode, let alone drawn. But apart from that I totally love this especially the Clara half. Just wish they would redo season 3 Martha Jones Ofcourse gets the crappiest cover art even though she was one of the best companions ever. There’s so much they could’ve done with the season 3 artwork

    • Haza14

      October 29th, 2020 - 9:58am

I’m really hoping they do a Day of the Doctor / Time of the Doctor steelbook release. I’m hoping they include all the special programmes that were on around the 50th as well. An Adventure in Time and Space, The Proms, The Science of Doctor Who, 3D version of day of the Doctor. Basically everything that was on the limited edition set, although no need for Name of the Doctor or anything that’s duplicated from this series 7 release. Really hope they do that. Having the extra stuff in Blu-ray would justify the price!

    • daz

      October 29th, 2020 - 11:30am

Haza14. I hope they include everything from the original 50th Set. Agree, no real need for Name this time but I imagine it will be a straight copy of the original release.

Although I have it from the Season 10 set and SJA Series 4 BR they should include ‘Death of the Doctor’ as a bonus disc so all of Matt’s stuff is in one place. It really should have been included in the Series 6 Steelbook.

It would also be nice to get a new interview with Matt like they did for DT Specials release.

And finally, I doubt they will include the 3D release of Day as 3D is dead now (I have it of course as only watch it in 3D) but I hope there is space for the original disc so I can put it in the Steelbook.

    • Star Lord

      October 29th, 2020 - 3:07pm

Really hope they add a bonus disc for the Day/Time steelbook like they did for The Specials steelbook. Matt’s SJA episodes, the 2010 proms and a few other bits should be on there.

    • Haza14

      October 31st, 2020 - 12:00pm

Yes agree both! Especially about maybe including an extra disc with a Matt Smith interview and the 2010 Proms! That would be great as it was sadly missing from the Series 6 set. It’s only on the Christmas Carol single release.

I think SJA being included is unlikely sadly, as the 10th Doctor’s one wasn’t included either. For the moment I’m happy with that SJA episode on the Season 10 Classic Box Set and my original dvd so not too bothered about that. Although one day I would love to see SJA Blu-ray steelbooks, or a complete SJA Blu-ray set (possibly more likely) where seasons 1-3 have been upscaled to HD.

Immediately preordered. I’ve got all of the steelbooks so far, so this was a no-brainer. Still hoping they re-release series 11 with a less naff cover.

Also, would be really nice to get a steelbook of the TV movie at some point. The classic series has collection boxsets. The reboot has the steelbooks. The movie is sitting there on it’s own, looking lonely.

Same. I have the entire collection so far…yes that includes season 9 which is now like £600 on eBay. But I too wish they would re release season 3 and 11. Season 3 is just messy and plain and Martha Jones deserves better ie. Jack on the front and the toclofane coming through a cracked sky on the back ! And season 11 has doctor who plastered across the cover which is hugely inconsistent with the rest of the collection.

Looks beautiful but curious which episodes are included, it says 14 so presuming day and time of the doctor will get a separate release but this still leaves one out (series 7 part A is 5 eps, part B is 8 and then the two specials snowman and the doctor the widow and the wardrobe = 15)

I think that’s an error as it clearly lists 15 behind the scenes. Must be one for each episode.

At least now we know there must be a 50th set forthcoming which puts to rest all the questions.
